What a lovely place! We stayed in one of the apartments. It was suitable for 5 but there was only two of us. We found it spacious, comfortable and absolutely spotlessly clean. All the staff were very helpful and friendly with a natural ease that made you feel calm and relaxed. When I say all, I mean all. The reception staff, the cleaning staff, the restaurant staff were excellent. If I had to single anyone out, I would say that Marine who was our waitress when we dined at the restaurant was superb. She was very efficient, but charming and seemed to have a genuine concern for our well-being. With regard to the restaurant, the food was excellent. We opted for the 'menu du jour' which had a good selection. The portions were much bigger than I expected and it was very tasty. The setting for the 'domaine' was lovely; set in its own grounds just a very short walk from the beach, it was lovely. There are several beautiful beaches nearby and a coastal path. It is a fair walk into Pornichet itself, but there are plenty of taxis. We walked in and then got a taxi back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book there again.
myself & the gang stayed here for 2 weeks. we were very lucky with the weather & the services provided by Ker-Juliette was certainly a big bonus. the plus: - staff courtesy - 200 mtrs from the beach -nice pool - the accomodation was very clean & adequate the minus: - no wifi available in accomodation ( only in public areas) - the sofa bed was out-of-service & was never fixed despite my request on day 2 ( which resulted of my two sons sleeping togheter.. overall fantastic stay with only minor issues which explain the rating. will be back for more.
This is a nice 3 star hotel - nothing fancy, but everything you need for a comfortable stay. This is the second year we have been and we would go again. The food is VERY good :-) The pool is a good temperature and big enough to mess about in and the beach is just a few minutes walk!
My wife and I Along with another couple stayed two nights in a ground floor apartment. The apartment was good and clean. There was a double bed room and a smaller room with a double bunk. The bunks were OK but the room needed some where to put thing like a shelf near the head end. Shame because there was a cupboard with door out into the lounge that could have been designed better to give storage for the bunk room. There was a TV but only French. Kitchen area and lounge was good, as was the table and chairs outside. There was an excellent swimming pool and a sauna that we made good use of. The reception ladies were polite, helpful and spoke English. There was WIFI in the reception.
We stayed in an modern apartment very clean comfortable bed with a lovely balcony. Secure as coded outer door.Within walking distance to the beach. We didn't eat the hotel as the reviews said it was a long wait for food and there was a wedding party saying the weekend we were there but we ate a two local restaurants which were within walking distance and they were excellent.
We were really mislead by the nice pictures of the brochure that make believe the hotel is the castle you see on the photo's with a nice pool. In reality the hotel is a separate building with different residences and you have the feeling to be in a camping! At the pool they have installed 250 long chairs so that you can touch your neighboor whereas the brochure leads to think that you are in a quite isolated atmosphere. Really annoyed by this type of commercial practice! total for 2 nights: 280 euros to sleep in an awfull building, a room without curtains and view on the campers in the building 3 meters across. No airco, empty minibar, old fashion decoration and very small - 2 square meter bathroom.
This is a full service hotel which has added condominium residences in recent years that can be rented out for vacation stays. We have stayed on several occasions in the main hotel buildings that are next to the huge pines in a forest-like setting. Ducks scampered outside our balcony from their pond below. There is a serviceable tennis court among the pines. The hotel building incorporates a blue-green '50s ocean-liner or sailboat look; it was designed with some taste. The beauty of the hotel lies in its woodsy setting across the road from a cliffside access to a crescent-shaped sandy public beach: hotels like this are not easily found. The hotel pool is also very nice and an alternative to the colder ocean water. The property encompasses the beautiful original turn-of century chateau building, underutilized, where you can use gym equipment downstairs. The restaurant brings a smile to my face: although the food is pretty good, what I remember most was that we were waiting-and-waiting for the food. We looked around at all the other tables and everywhere there were stoic faces that had run out of conversation. My wife insisted to say a few words to the manager about the wait and, the other tables, overhearing her, rose up in a clamor. They, too, had had enough! Revolution broke out against the poor restaurant manager: infuriated french people, totally amusing. In short, don't buy the meal program unless . . . a maximum wait time or it's free. On the other hand, breakfast is buffet, serve-yourself-style and it is great. It is expensive if you think of it as breakfast, not expensive if you see it as a brunch. The dining hall is next to the swimming pool and it is nicely decorated. We have stayed at the the hotel in 2003, 2005, and 2007. The hotel has bikes for guests. Nevertheless, you need your own car to get around.
This proved to be an ideal family hotel in a lovely location. Our apartment had 3 bedrooms (one double, one with 2 singles and one with bunk beds). It also had a fully equiped kitchen, living room and a large balcony. The swimming pool was lovely, however the childrens pool was empty. We paid extra for breakfast, which was very good (a little pricey at 14 euros for adults, but only 4 euros for kids and free for under 5's). My only regret is that we didn't stay for longer and we would love to return.
We had a 2 week stay in an apartment and found the location and overall experience to be very enjoyable. The apartment was amply spacious for a family of 4, and was very well equipped. The pool was perfect. There were always sunbeds available, and on a number of occasions we were the sole users. The beach was so close, and the promenade walk to Pornichet was lovely. The beaches were beautiful, and had plentiful supply of mussels which were picked daily by the locals at low tide. We did not eat at the hotel, so are unable to comment on food or service. If you are staying on a self catering basis, the markets and supermarkets are a fair distance away, but as we had a hire car this was not a problem.
We stayed 2 days and due to cold and wet weather there was not much to do in this isolated area. The hotel is a modern concrete building well situated in a park only 200 m From the sea. Staff was nice and helpful, but the kitchen should be avoided at all cost.
