Positive: Rooms are nice and beds are large (we were in a twin beds room). I liked the roller shutters so you can make the room very dark. That's very nice when you want to sleep in without to much light from outside. Also liked the balkony and the tv where you can hookup a laptop through hdmi. Shower and bathroom very comfortable and looks very nice. Negative: When you're at the back of the hotel mind you that you will occasionally hear the trains (I think about once every hour, I didn't keep track of it). I sleep with earplugs and it didn't bother me. But if you don't like trains be sure to book a room at the front. We didn't see any room cleaning during the 5 days we were there. Not sure what the reason is and apart from getting more toilet paper ourselves we didn't really bother about it. But if you want it you might need to ask for it specifically. Also note that the swimming pool is very very small. I guess about 4 meters by 2 or 3 meters. What I found strange, even though there was plenty of space to park, that at least 3 staff members almost permanently parked on 3 spots marked for disabled people. As there was lots of other space it's not an issue of space but of politeness and following rules. I don't like it when people park on clearly marked (roadmarks and a sign at each spot!) spaces for the disabled, and even more when it's the staff of the property. It doesn't affect my rating of the hotel, but I did find it a bit strange.
The hotel is very clean and quiet, close to the sea and the railway station. However, our balcony faced east so no sunshine, noisy water heater at night in the bedroom, basic breakfast and the swimming pool is too small to swim in. Good relatively large bathroom.
It's clean, the pool is small compared to what the pictures suggest, but the place is nice. The staff are friendly and there's nothing really bad about it as such, just a few things that could be improved: - there was no air-con in the room and no fan. It was hot!! We couldn't keep the window open because of mosquitos (water nearby) and also because the train tracks run directly behind the hotel - BE AWARE that the trains are very noisy!! (maybe this was just our room but I can only talk about my experience!) - the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom, so it smelt musty and damp in there - there is no space in the bathroom for toiletries, nor a shelf/similar in the shower unit - just a small thing but it would have been good to have more than 2.5 towels - no tea or coffee making facilities - iron and ironing board only from reception (just a little thing that might be nice to have in the room for the price, doesn't need to be a top spec one!) As I said - it was fine, there really wasn't much to whinge about properly, just little things that would definitely raise it into a higher spec establishment that wouldn't go unnoticed. I'd return!! But good to know these things before you get there. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy and the balcony was nice, it's only a 10 minute (max!) walk to the beach or to the high street.
Very clean and nice location in La Baule. Close to everything. New building new bedding Very competent and helpful personal. You will enjoy the small kitchen and the balcony. With or without breakfast
The first thing you notice is that someone tried to drive through the security gate: it's all bent and out of shape and half closes off the driveway. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are generally well proportioned. The bathroom is spacious, but the basin or surrounds allows no space for toiletries. It had a kitchenette, but there was no toaster, kettle or cups (other than for an espresso sized coffee). So if you wanted to make a cup of tea you were out of luck. The sink did not have a plug. There was a light to illuminate the kitchenette work area but there was no switch to turn it on (if it was attached to some other light switch, then the globe had blown). The bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. The wireless internet (we were at the end of a corridor) was dreadful. Not only the signal was weak, but the capacity of their internet link for the establishment was well undersized. In frustration, I turned to my wireless internet and used my bandwidth so that I could get something done. Some of the things were just thoughtlessness or small niggles, but having good internet is a must in hotels today.
went for a short break and love it! the place is very clean and bright, small kitchenette with all the trimming, two tv, large bathroom, very pleasant staff, no catering available except for a buffet breakfast, but who care in france, just need a short walk to get some fresh croissant!! beach within 5 minutes walk the same walk for the gamblers to reach the casino, lot of trips to do around la baule, le pouliguen, guerande, le croisic etc, etc.
Booked this on the day of arrival ,very good size room with separate kitchen/living area . Clean and tidy ,staff very helpful and polite also swimming pool on site ,only 10 min walk to beach and restaurants would book it again next time I'm back in la baule
After driving around for a while and staying in hotels, it was great to have a small apartment where you could stay and cook, etc. They have a number of very strict rules about cleaning, toilet paper, etc., so make sure you are prepared. There's a big supermarket close by so you can find everything. The location is good, about 8-10 min walk to the beach. Don't be fooled by the pool though, it's more like the size of a Jacuzzi.
We stayed as a cycling couple here for three nights on the basis of trip advisor. Not dissapointed! Stayed in a studio room at peak season. Smart modern location in a quiet part of La Baule. 10 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes from a number of restaurants and boulangeries. A "carrefour city 7/7" is 5 minutes drive with quick parking outside. The hotel: Parking excellent and secure. Lots of space. Reception smart amd staff friendly and helpful. Rooms modern amd smart usually with terraces seating 4. Bathrooms modern showers ,0 spacious with heaters for drying. Kitchenette is compact modern and clean. Fridge, 2hobs, microwave, etc. And here is why they only get 4 stars. No cafetiere, coffee filters, washing sponge, washing liquid, dishcloth.....so remember to bring these as well as your shampoos. Swimming pool is small (deep) but sufficient to cool off after the beach. We came for cycling, and the hotel proved a good base. Our expensive bikes were safe in the car, and the staff also offered to keep them in a secure room downstairs. In summary a great choice of residence hotel for a quality calm stay for couples or family. Friendly staff,... just remember your coffee filter, washing up kit, beach towels, and shampoo!
We travelled with our 5 month old daughter and the Adonis worked perfectly. Lovely quiet spot with attractive garden setting and small pool and yet only five/ten minutes walk to excellent town centre and longest beach in Europe (!) which has a nice vibe. We had one of the small studios which was fine as baby slept in pram. Kitchen well equipped and spacious bathroom with excellent shower. All staff were excellent too! Lovely feel to La Baule town, particularly the central area and posh market hall. Lots of quality shops and restaurants. Le Pouliguen and Le Croisic areas are well worth a visit too, different to anything else we have seen in France and we enjoyed a day at Valentin beach as a change to La Baule beach. Will be back!
