Yes the review would've been 5* if the room had been bigger. But you get what you pay for I suppose. We were there for the wedding of a friend at the the hotel. 1. Arrival and check in... Normal check in is 2pm but for an extra £10 you can check in at 12pm and we opted for that. Reception staff cheerful and helpful. Looking smart in their uniforms it gives a great first impression of the hotel's standards. We where in room 6, its on the second floor, easy enough you'd think. Up 1 floor from reception in the lift along a corridor turn left, through a door up a flight of stairs through another door and along another corridor o the room. Not so easy with a suitcase, two suit bags and a hold all. 2.The room... The only way to describe it is "Small". It was 12ft x 12ft with a seperate en suite bathroom. Somehow in this space they had managed to squeeze in a double bed, two bedside tables, a wardrobe and a dressing table. To get past the end of the bed and the wardrobe you had to step over the end of the bed. But dispite these criticisms I've got to admit to having one of the best night's sleep in a long time, wonderfully comfortable the bed was superb. The room was fitted out with everything you could need, kettle, ironing board, iron, multiple power points and free WiFi. Cleanliness was of a very high standard and that includes the bathroom, how they got it all in I don't know. 3. The reason for the stay...... Margies wedding.... They Hotel must stage weddings on a regular basis because they have the routine off to a tee. Everything went off without a hitch (well the bride and groom got hitched) . From the beautifully laid out wedding area, the wedding breakfast , the reception and the evening the hotel made sure it was a resounding success and a day to remember. Perfection on a plate. 4. Breakfast...... The morning after it was down to breakfast, couldn't fault it at all. What ever took your fancy. Choice of full English, cereals or continental, what ever you picked it was fresh, hot and plentiful. Attended on by two of the staff and fussed over by the chef we couldn't have had a better experience. 5.Check out...... Again no problems, it was then that we found out that we could've brought our dog with us instead of putting in to kennels, yes the hotel provides a pet sitting service. How good is that. Would we stay again, without a doubt
We had our Wedding here on 18th August 2017. It was truly amazing. We cannot fault the staff, the venue, the food or the rooms. All of our 60 day guests commented on how much they enjoyed our day. Would highly recommend this hotel if your thinking of getting married
Great value hotel for my niece's wedding. Rooms were small but had everything you needed & decor was of a good standard. The staff were extremely helpful & very nice. A great place to stay in Liverpool.
We spent 3 nights in this lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had requested a room with a view of Sefton park and that is exactly what we got - so pleased !! We are looking forward to our next trip!!
The room was a good size on the first floor with a view over the Italian Garden. Plenty of wardrobe storage , tea coffee facilities and what looked like a recently refurbished bathroom. It was easily accessible as a lift is provided from the ground floor as well as a short stair case.
I stayed in this Hotel on three occasions and thoroughly enjoyed my stay I have entertained and dined solo in the Restaurant and found the food and service to be excellent as was the bar. Will definately stay again when next I am in Liverpool
My family and I stayed at the Hallmark South Hotel on Aigburth Drive for 2 nights while dropping our daughter back to Uni. The hotel is a beautiful building and the character has not been lost once you go inside. It has been sensitively renovated and is great value for money. The family room was plenty big enough for us (one double bed and 2 singles) and the staff were friendly, cheery and efficient. We had a few drinks in the bar which was pleasant and although we did not eat at the hotel, the restaurant and the food looked lovely. The location is also beautiful - right on Sefton Park. In addition, the hotel has a car park which is an added bonus. We will definitely be staying here again.
We had our wedding here on 29.07.17. From the first visit in January to the last person going to bed could not fault the service we received. Becky was our coordinator and what a fantastic job she did, nothing was too much trouble and made the whole organisation of our special day so simple and straightforward. If we had a change we wanted to make, no issue, what ever we asked for was not a problem. Thank you Becky. It was the best day ever. MATT was an absolute star, brilliant, fantastic, awesome, superb, wonderful, magnificent, I've ran out of adjectives lol. He was top draw. Jen, what a lady, her enthusiasm was infectious and put me at ease during the day. There were problems with rooms on the Friday due to the bad weather but even that couldn't put a damper on the occasion as dealt with superbly by Claire and Jaymie on reception (Matt included again) :-) I have only heard rave reviews from all our guests who had the most fantastic time. Massive thank you to all the staff what a credit they are to the hotel. Not planning on getting married again but if I was would definitely book the Hallmark again :-)
We regularly stay here when visiting the area and always have a very positive experience so felt it was about time we actually left a review to convey how good it is! The rooms are a good size, some quirky in their layout and all very comfortable with lots of plug sockets, mirrors, chairs etc to spread your stuff on and get ready, all of which I find very convenient. Bathrooms are always a good size, some huge! Sometimes the rooms can be a bit warm in the summer as the building is old, but are by no means unbearable. However the main reason we continue to return is the customer service - I've never stayed anywhere where the staff have made us feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and they genuinely seem to care about every customer. Only last Sunday we stayed for a family Christening in the area; we arrived in the morning and knowing we couldn't check in til the afternoon asked if there was somewhere we could get changed as we'd been in the car for a couple of hours. Expecting to maybe dive into the toilets we were pleasantly surprised to be allowed to use a small spare room downstairs to get changed in. Another time we'd been given a bottle of wine as a gift which we wanted to enjoy in the room and after asking if we could grab some ice we were presented with a posh ice bucket for the room! We stayed one surprisingly mild October to find the heating on in our room which we couldn't figure out how to turn down. Upon asking the receptionist (we honestly just asked the question and did not complain) they swiftly upgraded us to a suite down the corridor! Totally unexpected. The location for this hotel is excellent too by the way, just a short walk from Lark Lane and Sefton Park, both of which are our favourite parts of the area, and the main Aigburgh Road where buses run regularly into the city centre if you don't want the hassle of driving and parking. I honestly cannot recommend this hotel and it's wonderful staff highly enough.
Excellent hotel....excellent staff. Would highly recommend. The staff were very helpful and the conference facilities were also very good. The food served was also faultless. This is the third time I have stayed at the hotel
