Just returned after a school trip, staff and students. The hotel is very clean and the staff were lovely. Rooms large and have everything you need. Wifi good. Food was okay with enough buffet variety to ensure that even our fussy eaters didn't go hungry. Beware the desserts they are lovely but lots of healthy choices if you can resist the temptation. Right on the beach and close to shops and other bars. Lisbon is a ride away but the quiet coast on your doorstep is a great way to relax after a busy day in the hustle and bustle. Our students attempted language but English is spoken well. Huge renovation underway but it is not noisy and main areas complete so not a problem. Enjoy.

I stayed in this hotel from 5/11 - 5/21. Hotel was clean, just purchased by Marriott and the staff were kind. Problems: Room 605 and spotty internet service. From the moment I walked in the door there was a horrible sewer gas oder. The smell was horrible and only got worst each night when I return because the room was closed up all day and most nights. Upon request, the staff would come in routinely and spray the toilet bowls and floor water drain, but nothing worked. The internet service was spotty and continued to fail every few minutes. The hotel staff seemed oblivious I would guess it was because they could do nothing about the lack of internet service or the sewer gasses polluting my room. I would not advise staying at this hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights in May and had a great time. We were in room 334 which had a fantastic view of the beach and across the estuary. The room was of a reasonable size and the bathroom was excellent. The shower pressure was exemplary. I found the bed extremely comfortable. We thought there could have been more coat hangers and our room did not have a safe deposit box. They were working on the hotel during our visit and some of the corridors smelt of fresh paint. The pool was large but freezing cold and there was a steep drop from 1m to 2m. During our stay the pool was almost empty with plenty of free sun beds. The buffet breakfast was what you would expect, on our first day they did wonderful hash browns but unfortunately they served thinly sliced roast potatoes on the other days. The town of Caparica is fairly small with a limited selection of shops. There is a reasonable selection of restaurants but a lot of them are sushi or Japanese. We enjoyed drinks in the small Janus bar just outside the main door. Drinks and food are cheap in town and even the hotel bar is competitive compared to UK prices. The beach has wonderful sand and is very popular with surfers. The Atlantic Ocean in May is only for the very brace. The hotel is around 30 minutes by taxi from the airport and the centre of Lisbon can be reached by bus for €3.30 each way (a bit of a walk from bus stop to centre) or bus and ferrry for €5.05 each way right into the heart of the city. Free Wifi was available throughout the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel before when it was independent and called Hotel da Caparica. When we booked the hotel, there was no indication that they were undergoing refurbishment. We were told at reception when we checked in. On getting to the floor, it stank of paint. The room seemed it was just put together with only a bed and dressing table. There were no chairs and the room fridge was not even put in its place. After some comments to reception, they provided a small table and a couple of chairs. On checking, it looks like the hotel was undergoing refurbishment on multiple floors and not one floor was complete. Almost every floor had work being done. Room numbers were pieces of paper, rooms without proper furniture or carpets, balcony furniture missing, balcony doors or bath room doors not closing properly...it was a mess. Noise dust and workmen every where. Most hotels I know would do it systematically room by room and floor by floor. Not wholesale mess. The staff were non-plussed except for this one male receptionist about it and didn't seem to care. Most never apologised or even cared. The duty Manager was sympathetic but all in all utter chaos. Furthermore, the first room we were given was right about the hotel dump, which was three floors below but outside and when they threw rubbish there, the noise of breaking bottles, shouting staff kept us awake. While I understand that they are a conference and tour hotel with few if any of their guests returning, you would think that they would have been more organised and have more consideration for their guests. The hotel is in a lovely location and has a bit of monopoly for the beach but they need to realise that they need to be more guest friendly both from a staff point and also how they manage refurbishment. Very sad that it was the 'don't care' attitude that made a bad situation worse!! Breakfast was OK, functional but mass produced. Pool closed as it was not in season.

Nice view and location . good breakfast . but the work on the hotel is not good . bad paintjob in rooms and probably the most unhygienic bathroom i have ever stayed in . as it was newly reopened i Guess staff was New . service at lunches was not impressive . but if you want a good location it is fine .

In general the Hotel is nice and with a good location, just cross the road and you are in the beach. The conditions are nice they are improving the hotel. I didn't use the gym and the swimming pool( maintenance )

The pictures and the description are nowhere near the reality. Very far off from the heart of Lisbon, at night no bus goes there you either have to call a cab or uber to get back to your hotel. The rooms are poorly maintained and in no way should it be a 4* star Hotel. The only thing that's actually decent about this place is the staff who were very helpful. I would definitely suggest booking another hotel.

Stayed here in a group of 21 for 4 nights, 16 x 15 year olds and 5 adults. Couldn't fault the hotel. Location is directly on the beach, staff were really helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, food was varied well cooked, I've never been in a hotel at the end of a season that didn't need a lick of paint so didn't bother us. We can only comment on how it met our needs and we had a fantastic stay and will return to this hotel if we return to the area. Many thanks

The hotel is somehow disapointing. Although it is 4 stars, big and very well located, the rooms are outdated and above all, not well maintained. I've stayed in room 604 where one could see several minor things that all together are inadequate for this type of hotel. Examples are the poorness of the higiene kit, the cleanliness (lack of it ) of the bath tube, the ageing of the room carpet and the rustiness in many metal parts. Specially in the bathroom, there is no reason at all for not being properly cleaned, maintained and equiped with better products. Last but not least, the breakfast was overcrouded with a 2/3 stars quality, never 4 stars.

We've stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in October ; although was extra season the hotel was pretty busy but if you come by car is a good idea to stay here especially in this period as you have the Ocean and a great view just opposite the building, is quieter than in the heart of Lisbon, you can find very easy a free place to park and you get to the city in about 10 minutes by car. Close you have Almada Mall and some nice restaurants. The hotel is ok, a little old and I think for the 4 stars they should do some refurbishment but is clean, services are ok, great breakfast and staff.
