This hotel offers you clean room and ok bed. Room is was a bit small, but ok for us because we just slept there. Breakfast is good, but no vegetables. You get juice, good choice of bread, some fruits, yoghurt, cereals, different hams, turkey and cheese. Also scrambled egg, beacon and sausages. Coffee (very good!) and tea. Hotel is located very centrally and you can walk to popular places. Well, it is quite cheap to take taxi (Airport - Hotel was just 11-12 euros, 10 kms) in Lisbon. So basically you can take hotel also a bit more far away from center. By the way I REALLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE ELECTRIC BIKE TOUR in Lisbon! You don't have to sit I Tuktuk or taxi in traffic jam. Lisbon has many hills and with e-bike it is easy go up hill also. Quick and convenient way to see Lisbon!
I rate this hotel about a 3.5 star. Location good and very close to metro and taxi's are cheap so not an issue. Rooms are small and a bit tired but clean and serviced daily, room was small but adequate for 2 people, bathroom very small, it would be problem for larger peson to shower. Breakfast supurb, pastries yum, plenty of bread scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, jam, cereal cofffee etc and served till 11 or so set us up for the day sightseeing. Bed firm, we were on the 5th floor noise level ok for a ;city. Did not use aircon prefer an open window. Staff helpful and polite, they arranged pickup from airport with someone holding up our name which we paid for on arrival at hotel cost not exorbitant just took away the hassel of public transport with bags. For the price hotel was good value.
A basic 3 star hotel. Small bedrooms - I can't envisage the rooms being comfortable with 2 people in them. Tiny bathroom. Breakfast was good, unless you wanted 'full service'. Honesty bar was good - but the hotel employee watching you pour your drinks was off putting - was he checking? I was on business, so the hotel was adequate.
Good 3 star. Breakfast good with hot and cold options about 6 types of bread and delish Portuguese tarts. Room and bathroom small but beds comfy and too.much to do in lisbon to be hanging around room. Fantastic location loads of restaurants within 15 minute walk. We took the 48 hour sightseeing bus option and did the Belem and Castle trips. Also got train to Sintra sorry didn't get to Estoril. Loved Lisbon and would have no hesitation recommending Dom Carlos Liberty.
I did not originally book this hotel but was redirected from its sister hotel, the Dom Carlos Park just around the corner which was closed for renovation.. The location is excellent. The rooms are a bit small but entirely adequate. The deal is B&B only but the breakfast is first class and lasts until nearly mid day. The staff are courteous and most helpful. I can happily recommend this hotel.
Dom Carlos Liberty is located very centrally in Lissabon and a lot of things are within walking distance. The metro is very close by and will allow you to go around the city very easily. The staff are helpful and friendly and Will happily answer your questions. The rooms are not very big but beds are comfortable and you have all the things you need. The internet connection works well and is pretty Quick. Breakfast is good and has a fair variety of things to eat. Tables in the restaurant dont allow much space for your feet but its not too bad. There is also a garage available for cars for those who need that at 14 euro pr Day. This hotel is very good value for money and I Would happily stay here again.
Pleasant 4 night stay at the hotel. Breakfast very good and served until 11.15am for any late morning risers. No bar but the lounge has an honesty bar with some food also available. Rooms small but clean. Hairdryer very small and cut out after a couple of minutes. Take your own if you don't want to get frustrated. Staff helpful.
Overall, the hotel is OK, however rooms are very small and the breakfast can be more varied. A big plus is the location, next to the metro station and less than half an hour walking distance to the centrum.
Dom Carlos Liberty is a little gem tucked away slightly out of the tourist trap. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there for ten days. From the friendly front desk to the housekeeping staff, we felt at home during our time there. While the hotel is not right in the center of action, it is only one block to the Metro station and Avenida da Liberdade, two blocks to the Marques de Pombal Park where the tour buses start and about a 15 minute walk to Rossio Square on foot, where you can catch a train every 20 minutes to Sintra and Cascais and enjoy an assortment of trendy shops and restaurants. We found the buffet breakfast, which was included, very substantial and although nothing really changed from day to day, there was so much variety that we ate something different every morning. In the evening the hotel provides soup and pastry, such as quiche, empenadas, etc., snacks and a bar in the no host lounge for a nominal fee (2-3 Euros), which was great after a day of walking or touring castles. Our first impression was lasting: we arrived after an 18 hour day of travel and were told our room was ready when we arrived at about 10:30am! From then on we experienced the same friendly attitude from the staff. We travel a lot and for the price we paid, this hotel was extremely satisfying to stay in - I don't know how anyone can really complain. The only negatives we might mention are the bed (two twins pushed together) was really hard, there is no coffee in the room and breakfast isn't served until 7:15am, so you'd have to run down the street if you're a caffeine freak like I am. Also, if you want to be in the center of action, this is a little farther out, but there are three or four really good, inexpensive restaurants across the street, so you don't have to fight the crowds at dinner. This is a clean, safe hotel in a nice neighborhood, which is not often easy to find in Europe. I want to thank the staff for making our trip to Portugal so enjoyable.
This is hotel is in a reasonably good location, just one short block from Avenida Liberdade. It is good for getting the open top buses and is also not too far walking distance from Rossio Square/Praca Comercio (15 or 20 minutes). The staff are very nice and helpful. There is Air-con, which is controlled from the front desk. There is some sort of a gym/fitness room on the 8th floor but I never visited it. Breakfast is very good and it is served until 11 or 11.30. There is an honesty bar during the day and night where you take a drink or snack and fill out a form and give it to reception to add to your bill. There is not a proper bar or restaurant but there are some bars and restaurants in the streets nearby. Taxi to/from the airport cost us approx. 18 euro each way. We stayed 6 nights on this trip. Lisbon is a lovely city, reasonably priced restaurants, nice people and plenty to see and do and I'm looking forward to visiting here again for a weekend in the not too distant future. You can walk around or get a tram or bus or underground. Only a half hour by train you can be at the beach in Cais Cais or Estoril and you can also visit Sintra, with its palaces and gardens within about 40 mins by train also. This hotel is 3 star plus with about 56 rooms. I would stay in this hotel again if the 4 star hotels slightly nearer the main tourist area are just that bit too expensive.
