Having arrived with my husband and two children on 28th December, we were shocked and appalled at the standard of the property, it is not as advertised - bright, spacious white walls, lovely furniture - it was a dark one bedroom apartment with paint falling off the walls, door missing from lounge into bedroom (found it against the wall) old grubby furniture, filthy pillows and beds. We stayed an hour and had to move on, we were charged in full prior to arriving at the property, still waiting on an email back from Management as to how they are advertising properties that are nothing like the photos they provide. I would not recommend this property to anybody We found a beautiful two bed serviced apartment at Clarion Suites - €80 more for the same number of nights, clean, spacious and really centrally located.
I was apprehensive after booking this apartment after reading the reviews but I shouldn't have been! We had a second floor large apartment with three of us staying there for a city weekend bread for three nights. The apartment was very spacious with large windows and a light and airy feel. Very clean with everything you could need. The parrot someone mentioned in a previous review only occasionally made a whistling noise, but it just added to the charm of the place! The location of this apartment is brilliant, right near to shops, the old town and the sea. The only problem I can imagine would be for older guests with any mobility problems as the apartment is situated on a hill. But for anyone else, this is a steal ! Lovely traditional feel to it. Also the road outside was only noisey on the first night we stayed (a friday) until midnight then it died down, but all other nights was quiet. Highly recommend!
Stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 4 nights and I would recommend it if you want to be close to the city and have your own space rather than stay in a hotel. Transfers from Portugal Ways came very handy on arrival and departure as it was my first time in Lisbon. I would stay here again as the price and location are good!
The apartment is located in a nice area of the city with few good restaurants and closed to the center of town. As we arrived it was very clean and ready for use, it had all the stuff that was needed including clean sheets, towels and cooking tools. The apartment staff took us from the airport straight to the place and was showing us the nice areas of the city as we drove through it. We had an additional friend staying with us and thankfully they did not charge any extra for using the extra bed. With every problem or question the staff were quick to respond. We liked it very much and would love to visit again.
The apartment i stayed in was clean, but was not finished, bathroom was unfinished, with tiles undone, and walls with open holes, kitchen facilities were not working properly, living room was not done, there was a ladder left there at the back of the room, as well as a broken heater, sofa bed was broken. Bedroom was ok, but i only had bed sheets and not duvet covers! Costumer service was appalling from arrival, personell did not know how to deal with my reservation or how much i'd have to pay, then at the end was asked again to pay for a fee that was already paid upon arrival. Lack of professionalism and internal communication. I was not very happy, a lot of information missing, such as were the bin should be emptied, and there was no service open after 21.00pm so no emergency number in case it was needed. If there was one i was not informed of it. Also i was charged at a rate of 2 people, even after they were told only 1 person was staying on they did not offer to lower the rate. So service was terrible not very helpful, directions were not very clear even locals did not know where it was!!!! I do have photographs of the apartment, i feel like i was put in an apartment other than the one i initially paid for. I feel like i was taken advantage of!!!
After the expensive trip from the airport (almost 20€) with a cab driver who was not able to find our address on his GPS (or took us "for a ride"); others staying there had the same issue. I had not noticed the asterisk alongside the # in the key code on my iPhone screen, so called the manager who had me call back 5 minutes later. Problem solved! We really enjoyed our stay here, but you definitely need ear plugs as this location is practically across the street from a bar. Most of all we enjoyed the people who live nearby; one phoned our cab to take us to the airport and this time the fare was reasonable. This location is close to buses and trams, too. Clean, can cook, has Wifi, close to stores that have basic stuff.
We stayed in Room 31 for a week. Pros - 1. Nice and clean 2. All of the electrical appliances worked. 3. Bright and airy 4. Mini- mart at the end of the street. 5. Two nice restaurants just around the corner. Cons - 1. The uphill trek from the nearest tram/bus stop is a killer. 2. The noise from the two bars directly opposite the apartment. Normally stops at around midnight. It's not offensive, but if you want to get to sleep before midnight, you'll need earplugs. 3. The glass recycling trucks that trundle around after the bars close, making quite a racket for about 30 minutes. 4. The parrot that wolf whistles, does cat impressions, shouts 'hola' and 'hello' and other random screeches from its cage outside one of the bars. It was entertaining for a couple of hours, but after that I began to wish I'd brought an air pistol. We had to escape to Sintra for a couple of night to relax. Well worth a visit by the way, and only a couple of euros from Rossio station. If you just need somewhere to crash, it's fine, but I wouldn't recommend it for families with young children.
1. Booking confirmation through lastminute.com doesn't say anything about access to the apartments - we had no idea we needed a code!!! We arrived late at night and couldn't get in. 2. The phone number to the 'portugal ways lisbon City apartments' displayed on the outside of the the house didn't work !!! Our taxi driver lent us his phone and we made connection (for some reason it connected his Portugal phone but not our UK one!) They told us email was sent 2 day prior our departure ... We told them we would check our spam inbox and called them back if it didn't work... 3. No email was found, we kept calling the hotel rep again but couldn't make the connection !!! (Taxi driver left by that point so we couldn't use his phone again) 4. After endless tries calling the Apartments representative... We called lastminute.com help line and after long discussion the guy told us he couldn't help us, he said he doesn't have any code and he told us to go and find another hotel!!! It was very late at night ! 5. After some time we got a text message from the 'portugal ways lisbon city apartments' sayings they received phone calls from us and asked if we need anything !!! We finally managed to call them and get through !!! At this point they gave us the code over the phone!!! Finally !!! And they said they sent the code to lastminute.com 48 hours prior the flight !!! All in all the information we have been getting from both lastminute.com and the apartment representative were confusing and the situation was badly handled... Why did the apartment representative not called us straightway when they saw missed calls from us? Why when they know they apparently had issues with sending codes to people before in the past they don't send emails directly to the clients ...the list could go on and on ... At last I would like to also say the state of the apartment was very bad. I understand the accommodation costed less than stay in hotels etc but we would still not expect this ...the peeling walls in the bathroom, discussing shower curtain, shower tray with peeling surface and mold all around ! No windows in the bedroom - no fresh air.The photos on the website are very misleading! We would not recommend this place to anyone! Somebody from the apartments came on Monday morning to ask if everything was ok? And if we needed maps of the Lisbon !!! They came after we already spent 3 nights there! It was like a joke !!! We told them the electric hob didn't work and we only had 3 small hand towels since our arrival (4 nights stay)...we told them not to bother about the hob as we were leaving on Tuesday morning (it would not make any difference to us by that point) but we asked for towels... When we came back to our apartment on Monday evening we have not found any new towels ...so even the smallest thing like this was not done even though they promised to bring some! How can they expect 2 people to use just 3 small hand towels for 4 nights stay! And then on the day of our leave we had cleaning services impatiently waiting outside our door since 11am even thought we showed them on our booking it says the check out was at 12! All in all very disappointing services and accommodation.!!!
It' was wonderful stay on weekend here specially spending time in Lisbon party the whole night with family and friends. The room were clean and comfortable. The value for money ròom were the best I have ever seen in my life in Portuguese cities
My boyfriend and I had decided to book this hotel based on the former reviews. It had mentioned that it was a noisy neighborhood, but I do not think we could have guessed how noisy. We got the ground level apartment right across the local bar, which meant that there were seldom an hour of the day where we couldn't hear them; we also experienced that some of the less sober of the bar residents attempted to open our apartment door or try to lure the code out of us. With all this said, the quality of the apartment was great for the price, big and bright rooms, nice bed, well furnished kitchen, nice bathroom. For a stay where you do not expect to spend much time in the apartment itself, it is okay. Location wise it takes approx. 10-15 minutes by foot to go downtown and if you are discouraged by that, there are good public transportation close by. Because it was the ground level apartment the wifi reception was minimal to non-existing.
