Loved the location right on the water around food and shopping.

Great location on the river and we were in a suite that overlooked the river and the castle.

Wonderful staff

The views are great and it's quiet since it's isolated from the city. The staff is super friend and helpful. The room doors aren't soundproof enough and we had to slam our door to close it properly. The bathroom fan didn't work and so the fire alarm went off, and the bathroom is then foggy for an hour and has a moisture problem. We could hear our neighbors talking in their bedrooms. Fortunately they weren't always there or that loud all the time. The facility is otherwise nice. It's ridiculous that the spa closes at 9pm on weekdays and 7pm weekends, and that they require a plastic cap for swimming (2.50e per rental). The hotel's amenity or breakfast hours aren't friendly to night owls or those who are enjoying their evening elsewhere and want to relax in the spa before bed. It seems geared for people who wake up at 7-8am daily.

The property was nice and it had great views. The bar & grill was horribly understaffed. One person trying to wait on one large party (probably 25 people) and several other tables. The bartender and the person from the front desk who checked us in jumped in and helped bus tables and wait on people but once we got our food no one ever checked on us again. We had to go and hunt someone down just to get drink refills. I'd stay at the property again but I would not count on having dinner at the restaurants.

Overlooking the Shannon River. Easy taxi ride to Shannon Airport

Staff were very helpful, breakfast buffet amazing. Rooms smaller than I expected but clean and comfortable. Main concern is shower / bath tub. Super high to step up getting in and a big drop getting out. Even my 20 year old son commented how he almost fell. For seniors I would be very concerned and wouldn't recommend. Parking is across the street in a covered garage and worked well. They have a special rate for parking and it was reasonable. If you purchase breakfast when you check in it's cheaper than doing so later and well worth it. Staff do get a very good rating. My room wasn't ready and I was tired and grouchy but they were pleasant and helpful throughout.

My fiance and I stayed here the last night of our Ireland trip before flying out of SNN the following morning. The hotel (I believe the tallest in Ireland) was right on the river and had great views of Limerick. The hotel was clean, safe, and the staff was friendly. Nothing particularly stands out as "amazing" but it was great value.

This property is located in downtown Limerick near shopping, restaurants and pubs. It is a short drive to Shannon Airport, Bunratty Castle and other tourist attractions. The room was clean and nice and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was good but cost 10 euro additional. Parking was also additional at 7.50 Euro for overnight. This was a good place to shake-off the jet lag from our flight from JFK in New York.

Our reservation was confirmed on May 27, 2013 for a one-night stay at the Clarion. This would have been our third stay at this property during our two-week vacation. This was our last night before leaving from Shannon for New York. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. on June 12, 2013 and were told that all rooms were full. They had not heard from the person who was occupying the room they had reserved for us, but his luggage was still there. They told us that the best they could do was to put us in the nearby George Hotel and that they would add breakfast. We explained that the breakfast was not important to us because we had to leave very early for the airport. They said they would arrange for breakfast with the George's room service. The Clarion did not help us get there with our luggage. While at the George, my wife slipped and hurt herself in the very slippery bathtub. The front desk's response was to ask if we had noticed a rubber mat that was placed near the tub. They showed no concern beyond this comment. The slippery tub could be corrected at very little cost or it could be ignored and cost the George a hefty sum from a liability claim. This experience soured us on both properties, the Clarion and the George Hotel in Limerick City.

Hotel was very attractuve inside and out. The staff were great, the food was good. The only drawback was te air conditioning in our room was not very good

Ideal for our travel plans. We forgot to take a cooler with insulting and the hotel staff recovered it for us and is holding it for us

I really enjoyed visiting Limerick and the room on the water was beautiful. We stayed for 4 nights and had some minor issues. However, I would still recommend the hotel regardless of the issues. My flight arrived in Shannon at 630 am. They do not offer shuttle service, but one of the staff members gave me the number to contact a reputable cab company. However, going there we just used a taxi and it was a standard 35 Euro to the hotel. I had contacted the hotel a few days before regarding early check in. I was initially told I would be charged a full nights fee to reserve the room for early check in. Although I offered to pay half fee for 8 hours, when I called the other staff member assured me there were 69 rooms available and early check in should be no charge. When we arrived we were able to check into a less desirable room in the sense of location. Our room was on the 11th floor and we had a view of the river and a small construction sight. Since we spent most time sight seeing, it was okay with us. Our refrigerator did not work. They offered to move us and we asked if it was possible to switch out the refrigerator but it never occurred. We had to be careful getting out of the shower and my husband and I both fell in the bathroom because it was so slippery. All in all, I would recommend the hotel. It was clean and professional. The one staff member offered me so much information I felt very comfortable and relieved.

Staff was exceptional.Very helpful and kind. Food is very good. Location is a bit scary as it is in an industrial area.

The staff are wonderful. The location on the water is beautiful with views from every room. I suggest a room with the old city view. Minutes walk away from amenities. I was at a conference at the Teacher Education college and it was a mere 10 min. walk. Fitness room and pool are very good and again friendly staff. Good food in the restaurants within the hotel. Free wifi. I'd stay again for sure.

I stayed one night before moving to a conference hotel. Everyone was most gracious and the room was just fine. It was also downtown and I'd have been happy to stay there if I hadn't been attending a conference at another hotel.

The only "issue" with this hotel is the poor quality of the pillows on the bed. They are rock hard and not very comfortable. The Asian style food in the hotel's bar is excellent as is the main restaurant during weekends. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. I will return to this hotel.

The Clarion Hotel in Limerick was a good choice for this visit because my adult sons were along and they like to go out to the pubs and clubs that are all within walking distance of this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean however, if you want a full or king bed it is really two twin beds pushed together so there is a ridge down the center. Most of the staff was top notch! The bar and resturant staff (with the exception of one server) were not good. They all had snotty attitudes and acted like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. The food service is very slow but if you don't want to go out some of the choices are very tasty. The breakfast buffet was really great and the staff at breakfast were FABULOUS! The other wait staff should take a lesson from them. There is a public parking structure right acroos the drive and they give a very good rate for anyone staying at the hotel. There is also a really great french resturant right across the street that is really worth a try (The French Table) great food & really great service. There are lots of pubs and clubs within walking distance and some have afterhours (until 5am) drinking. We would recommend this hotel to friends
