Three of us on a motobike tour. Not much can be done about the hotel's location, but they could do more to make guests feel a little more at ease; It was very warm on our night and standing outside was our only option for comfort. I was told - and could see - there is a problem with ethnic groups sitting outside local stores. The hotel could do more to provide a comfortable and private outside area for guests. We we left to sit on walls and railings with a beer in hand, trying to find some fresh air. Staff here are very helpful and friendly. The place is staffed 24 hours a day. Secure parking below the hotel gives great peace of mind to those with a vehicle in this rather too far down town suburb of Lille. This is not an area I would choose to spend a romantic weekend, but it's ok for a group of friends for one or two nights. I would not recommend it for families or couples on a romantic break. I would add that women may feel a little intimidated by the location and locals. The hotel itself is typical of the type you'd expect to find in residential areas on the edge of a large city - it is rather tired and in need of an overhaul or modernisation programme. That's not a complaint, just an observation for those unsure of what to expect here. I would give a special mention to Dale, the Hotel Services staff member; he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and seems a genuinely pleasant chap.
As a stop off we booked this Hotel on our way to Germany. What can I say, this has got to have been the most awful hotel we have ever stayed in.The rooms were dingy and not very clean the toilet leeked all night soaking the carpet. From the front of the building it 's not to bad. Reception guy from Trinadad was very helpful, breakfast was ok but we did have secure parking, which is extra, but believe me in this area you need secure parking.
Spacious room and very clean and quiet. Bed was a very comfortable. The toilet door did not close, so imagine this could only be used as a single room! Parking was great. Not a particularly good area of Lille but if you just need somewhere to sleep, then this was perfect. Good value for money.
We only stayed one night en route to another location, but would never go again. The room was unbearably hot, we were afraid to open the window being on the fourth floor and having children, and one of the single beds was under the window. The stench from the drains in the shower room was overpowering and came into the bedroom even though we piled towels at the bottom of the door to try and block it off. It was hard to sleep without covering your face to avoid the smell. The room was shabby with mould in the shower, stains on the walls and ceiling, and the toilet was filthy. The appeared to be little worms, or bits of scale or something in the toilet bowl when we arrived. There is no window or extractor fan in either the shower room or the toilet. Paid €7 for secure parking, glad we did as this hotel is not in a nice area, but the spaces were tiny and difficult to get into without blocking other cars in. Looks like an old hotel that has made an effort to update in some areas but really needs gutting and starting again. Surprisingly, the beds were really comfy and the linen clean. Breakfast was simple but nice, not enough to make up for the foul smelling bedroom and other issues though.
Very average and would not stay there again. Looks better in the pictures, very dated and needs some updating, breakfast was ok and parking was extra, area of the hotel was also very poor and I don't think safe to walk about
Visited the hotel for a citybreak to Lille. On first impression the hotel looked very unsatisfactory from it's outer facade. This hotel happens to be situated in a rather rough end of town with shouting heard as night fell in the streets. The inside was slightly better however the corridors leading up to the room were dark and had large damp stains on the ceiling. The room was surprisingly spacious and had a large shower however the toilet was in a room no larger than a small closet. The room itself could have done with a more thorough clean - dark items of furniture had dust that could be written in and items from previous occupants such as dirty socks were found under the bed showing that the room probably hadn't been cleaned that well. Breakfast was the saving grace- the croissants were lovely and there was a good selection.
This place is ideal for an overnight stay on way to Austria as it is close to the motorway and not far from the channel tunnel exit. B&B is around £60 per couple with £5 for car parking. The car park is a secure one under the hotel with easy access to lifts etc. The hotel is staffed 24 hours so there is no problem arriving a bit late. Friendly staff on arrival. Rooms are basic but we were upgraded free to a comfort room which has a fridge and double bed rather than a single. Room has tea/ coffee making facilities. Shower is good with free shower gel. Breakfast is typical continental but substantial with plenty of choice. Ideal for a short stopover whilst travelling.
First impressions were good. The private car park is welcome and reception staff excellent. You do pay 7€ for use of car park per night The hotel was supposed to be in the City Centre or at least I thought it would be but in reality it's a 30 minute bus ride away from the rail station That said the bus stop is outside and it's a good service for less than 2€ The room was small, the toilet very small and separate from the bathroom which is rare these days Bed was firm but clean Bathroom was also clean Big bonus was breakfast as this was included in price and was very nice, typical French food
Came to france for an over night stay in lille, we wanted somewhere cheap and looking at the pictures and prices on booking.co.uk we where very pleased with what we had found! On arrival, we pulled upto the car park doors and drove in when requested, parking was unclean we drove up the ramp and walked down to then see parking was downstairs for the hotel, so we moved the car, check in was very easy, all the staff spoke some English (a lot better then my French!!) into the very small lift and up 3 floors, we found our rooms, first impression was a little dark in the rooms but overall looked okay, The bathroom could have done with a little work due to a huge build up of limescale. When we went out for the evening we took the stairs to get out, Very small staircase and came to a fire exit (we wasn't sure weather to push it open or not! we did in the end and exited the hotel for walk to the metro. Slept well, bed was comftable, toilet was very small!! Breakfast was amazing!!!!!
Firstly may I just state that I NEVER write bad reviews. Unfortunately for this hotel (if you can even call it that), they will be my first! A non smoking family room that wreaked of stale smoke and was so small that we were all constantly tripping over each other. The separate toilet was only a decent size for my 4 year old to use comfortably, anyone larger than this had no option but to leave the door wide open whilst using this facility. The bathroom looked much more promising with its large spacious shower. My partner got the strangest surprise when he was the first to have a shower- turns out that the shower cubicle is purely for show as all the water shot out of the connecting piece to the shower head and all over the bathroom floor! This naturally caused fits of laughter on our part, although it did seem rather fitting with the rest of the hotel. During the night it sounded like there were some very unsavoury characters also residing in the other rooms as there was a lot of shouting and banging coming from all directions. The area itself made me not want to leave at nighttime as it is quite a rough part of the city, is poorly lit and is a long way away from the city itself. One saving grace of this hotel is that when I left for Belgium for a few days I realised I had left my makeup bag in the hotel room. I contacted the reception and they had found it- awesome! We decided that on the way back to the euroshuttle we would call in to collect it to save the postage faff. Bag retrieved and off we go. On opening said bag I can tell immediately that it has been thoroughly inspected. On closer inspection I come to realise that someone has actually helped herself to all of my makeup and used it. For her face? Not sure. My brushes look as though the cleaning lady finally decided these were the tools to clean the inches of dust on every surface imaginable. All of the pots with lids had kindly been unscrewed and placed back on loosely, a tissue covered in makeup residue had been scrumpled up and put back in the bag, but my absolute favourite part was finding the most delightfully thick and crusty toe nail in my face powder! I get the feeling the cleaning lady was not happy that the owner of this piece of kit was coming to collect it (Makeup is unbelievably expensive to buy in Lille). What a shame I can't give this "hotel" an absolute zero of a score. Stay away at all costs!!!
