Wonderful area with beautiful nature. The hotel has a fantastic restaurant, with a small but varied menu. The people (owners?) we met in the hotel and restaurant, made us feel very welcome. Thank you, for taking good care of us and my parents.
The location of this hotel – in the city centre of Aywaille – is fine, but all’s said with that. The room was ok, no frills. The bathroom is in the closet, shower gel was finished and not replenished during our stay. I’d say price/quality was poor. Please note that the hotel owners are old-fashioned and will bill every little extra. Nothing is included in the basic price – breakfast, tourist tax, etc. There is, for example, no coffee or tea in the room, which I expect from a hotel of a certain standing. At one point I was afraid that the owner would appear out of nowhere with a bill for the air that I breathed, the water I used in the bathroom or for his time. Initially we had booked for a night. Our plans changed, so I called the owner to ask if we could arrive one night earlier. We would only arrive after check-in, in the evening. On the phone, it sounded like this was not a problem. Eventually, the late check-in was charged on our final bill (€10). That was so strange to me because the manager had not mentioned it on the phone. If we’re already talking, why not mention that a late check-in is billed extra? It’s a pity. I appreciate transparency more than secretly adding extra charges to the bill. The owner was cold and distant, almost rude. I did not feel he gave a damn about his guests. Only the euro signs sparked in his eyes. Not that it ruined our trip, but it left a fool taste in the mouth.
We had a nice 3 days at this very nice hotel. The people there were very friendly and we received a good service. The room was spacious and well maintained. The hotel is well located, close to downtown and some sport accommodation units. For sure recommended!
To expensive for this bad, hot and noisy room. Breakfest was colt and sober. The owner was rude and had no attention of our problem. Breakfest was also to expencive and we thought that it was in the (high) price
Clean and spacious room. The staff helped us well and gave us good tips about the village and good places to eat. (Restaurant Cantil!) A lot of activity to do in the neighbourhood. We did have a great walk around 'le ninglinspo'.
We were content with the room. It was expected to have a view on the river, however you could only see the bridge over the river. The host was a very gentle man. in the morning he prepared a good breakfast. Overall it was good.
This was our third stay at the hotel. As always we recieved a warm welcome from the owner. A garage was provided for our cycles. The Hotel is well located for the local shops and bars but we had travelled over to go cycling and the location is perfect for riding the roads which are used in the Ardennes Classics. We eat in the restaurant on Saturday evening and the food was fantastic. We look forward to returning next year and staying in this excellent family run hotel.
Very nice family logis right in the heart of the village, decent restaurant nice rooms and friendly staff, good breakfast and has a bit of parking as well! Great location for cycling with many climbs of leige-bastogne-leige right on your doorstep!
We stayed here while visiting the Spa 6 Hour race. Having read what it says here on Tripadvisor, I was wondering what we might find. We were greeted by a friendly man who gave us the key to our room. The room was clean and spacious. There was a water cooler and tea and coffee making facilities There was plenty of wardrobe space. I liked the bathroom, the shower and wash basin were in a separate room to the toilet. There were television channels from around Europe, but none were English speaking. We had a nice nights sleep and left early for the circuit, so I can't comment on the quality of breakfast, as we didn't eat at the hotel. I have been scathing in my reviews of poor quality on Tripadvisor. I am not criticising this hotel, because there is nothing wrong with it. Would I stay here again? Yes Aywaille is a nice little town with plenty of places to eat. Not many are listed on Tripadvisor. There is also a locally produced beer, and it is good.
I tried to cancel my booking after seeing the bad reviews on here, but couldn't. And I'm glad that I didn't. I returned just today and have to say it was a lovely characterful hotel, staff were excellent, spoke English and let us arrive very late to check in. Room was large, clean, had many ameneties and no problems at all. No smells or loud noises. The road isn't that noisy, it's just the main road through a village so there's not exactly a lot of traffic passing. The town is beautiful with a river, scenic hills, old buildings, war memorial right by the hotel. I was instantly utterly bemused by the bad ratings it has had in reviews below and must assume they are otherwise motivated. I would recommend this hotel. The triple room is a good cost effective option for groups of 3. The only downside is it's quite a long (but fun, twisty) drive from Spa race track.
