The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were clean. The breakfast was adequate - good waffles and orange juice. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and relaxing. The only minus was that the fan in the bathroom did not work. Overall I was very pleased.
No frige, no microwave and you can't check in till 4:00pm.
Clean hotel. Good cold pool, they accept dogs for a reasonable price. Would recommend!
The location was great! It is within a short walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and convenience stores. Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice enough. There is a complimentary breakfast, but it is limited to toaster waffles, cereal, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. I wouldn’t have mentioned the breakfast selection had we paid a “normal” amount for the room, but since the pandemic, it seems room rates have gone way up and you don’t get anything extra for the price. It is what it is though and if you want to travel it’s the price you have to pay.
There were several areas that were in need of repair. The AC in room was not working. Building and room had a weird stale odor.
It took 30 minutes and 3 sets of keys to get to our room. They closed the pool early due to staff leaving early. The hall way from pool to room was freezing. The heater does not have any auto setting and ran all night, no temperature setting so you had to guess. The room was clean and the staff was trying to get things done.
Bare bones hotel for those spending most of their visit outside of their room. Very nice location with ample parking. Pool area is well maintained. Accommodations are very basic and toiletries provided are as well. Rooms are clean but dated. Worked for what we needed, a place to sleep.
Room was great. However the pool was freezing. And continental breakfast was frozen waffles. Great if you just need a room but when I come back to Hill City would probably look into the other hotels first.
The day and afternoon staff were great, however the night man was rude, and not helpful AT ALL. That is the the only reason for such a bad review.
This small motel has a lobby decorated in taxidermied animals that are for sale at very reasonable prices. The pool is indoors and clean. The rooms are simple, but clean. Very close to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and down the road from Sturgis and Deadwood. Parking is safe, but not camera guarded. Front door is key opened, as desk is not attended overnight. Felt safe and slept well.
We stayed there on a three day bicycle tour. It fit our needs and we were very happy with it.
Room was clean. Staff friendly and informative. Received directions to local sightseeing places.
Had a problem with guests swimming after the pool was closed (our room was in the pool area). The night manager told the people they could swim an hour past closing, until11 pm. Point blank refused to kick them out even though they were loud as heck. Even lied about it and said he was helping a customer check in and would do it later. When I went up to office, the lights were off and locked up. Not happy.
