We were dreading our stay at this hotel after reading all the negative comments, so we decided to go with an open mind and make the best of it. O.K. it was nothing spectacular but why would you expect that for the price paid? We totally enjoyed our stay here. Our room was perfectly fine, bed and pillows lovely and comfortable, it was nice and quiet, therefore we had 7 good nights sleep. We loved to go up on the roof top pool area (at the adjoining Flamingo hotel) some of the sunbeds could do with replacing but I am sure that will be addressed soon. There was some maintenance going on during our stay but not disruptive I don't suppose they can close down and have a full refurbishment all in one go. Breakfast was fine you will find something to eat, we went alternative days and tried a few other places. There are loads of restaurants, ice cream parlours and bars all along the promenade and we had some gorgeous meals reasonably priced. If you keep walking you will get to Larnaca city in about half an hour and you won't be disappointed. There you will find loads of interesting shops, bars and a whole row of all the recognised restaurant chains. We found the staff at this hotel to be really nice and helpful if you approach them. We would recommend this hotel for a cheap place in an excellent location, if its a special occasion, pay more for somewhere nicer. You won't be staying in the hotel all day as there is so much else to do with the lovely beach a few steps away. Free internet in the room was a bonus.
Rooms(apartments) was very old, mold on sealing, paint on every corners was starting to fall down. At least they clean every day, and staff was good, speaking in few languages. And one of the worst thing is that air planes that lands in airport, fly over your hotel room.
Booked this hotel together with a flight via tour agency .Even for this cheap price of 1 week stay there are no excuses for such poor breakfast : 7 mornings the same...Local market is full of cheap fruit and vegetable but in hotels canteen you're getting just old sliced cucumbers and oranges divided in 4 parts. They are proud about roof swimming pool but all sunbeds around didn't see damp cloth long long ago.Rooms also didn't see the refit for many years. This hotel is for very low budget tourists.
Run down hotel, shame as was probably ok 20 years ago! Food absolutely dire, we booked half board but I wouldn't even feed the food on offer to my dog -stone cold & very greasy -yuk. Needless to say that we won't be going back.
As I visit often with friends I like this hotel very much. It's clean, the food is good, the price is great and most of all its right on the beach. The city center is not too far and the salt lake is just behind the hotel. Some of the views are just amazing. Also Mackenzie area has lots of restaurants bit its not overwhelming. The hotel is quiet and very cimfortable when i needed my rest after a ling walk. I will defenately keep coming back.
Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Food was awful had to eat out every day. cleaner couldn't even make the bed it looked better before we actually left the room and they just chucked all the dirty sheets at the end off the bed. The Kitchenette !? What's the point there's no cutlery no nothing to it apart from a sink and a fridge. Reception staff were nice and polite. But it needs a massive refurb the place is falling apart. Our shower was hanging off the wall and the sliding doors were so difficult to open and close had to lift the whole door up before it would even move. I wouldn't go back there if I was paid too.
Went half board, next time bed and breakfast as wasn't pleased with the food (except Sunday roast 👌) but the great beach location and friendly, helpful staff made up for a wonderful stay.. Sue had Erica are beautiful ladies 💕 Thank you from Sue and Lee Xx
Overall the hotel was good, I've seen worst hotels. The breakfast was plenty with different variety of choices (cereal, toast, meats for sandwiches, eggs, beans), standard stuff. The building looks old but renovation has bee done to keep up the good looks. My room was nice and big but found a bit empty no on the the walls or anywhere but it was cleaned regularly regularly. The best thing was that it was right on the beach and weather was perfect. If you're not looking for lux and you enjoy ordinary stuff that's definitely the place to stay!
To be honest I am happy with the accommodation for the price I paid. The service and staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel room was spacious and well lit, since i like the sunlight to hit directly in my room the location was great. One thing i would have liked is to have some kitchen equipment since there is a kitchen area in the apartment. Also the hotel is perfectly situated right on the sea and close to the center. One of the evenings there was dancers in cyprus traditional clothes most amazing time I've had in a while. All in all I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
I am truely shocked with this hotel especially being listed as three star! I was put up in a room in the adjacent Mackenzie hotel (I booked flamingo beach hotel)! I was told that it is better for long stay as the rooms have a little kitchenette. The bathroom has no ventilation and there is black mold on the ceiling, I was told they will fix it after I leave! A few of the power outlets in the room are unsafe, the are not attached to the wall, I was told not to use the defective ones when I complained! Housekeeping does not change towels but once a week, they left stained towels, I was given a replacement after complaining. I got another stained towel and had to complain again to get a clean one! The AC did not work, I was told it had been fixed, it still did not work, I complained again and again, you basically have a fan running but no AC. The kitchenette was useless to me as there is only a fridge (that is in every hotel room these days) and a little sink! The doors and closet doors squeak. The lighting is poor. Look at pictures I have on my review for Flamingo Beach Hotel, Larnaca.
