We knew that we go to a 2 star hotel and we can't expect too much. Breakfast was ok, but once when we went at the end of the breakfast time , there was many people and wasn't more bowl for the muesli. I asked a bowl for my child, but the staff just showed that many people was having breakfast and they used all, that's why there is no more clean bowl. So I went to our room, washed a dirty bowl and gave to my child... Should I be more understanding, that is the end of the breakfast time for the staff?? I was thinking that I am on Holiday... Dinner usually wasn't tasty. There was a variety of food, but many of them didn't have good taste. The staff wasn't Cipriots, they did they job more or less, but they weren't friendly. I could turn a blind eye of everything, but the kindness of the staff is really missing to feel good, so this is the only reason, why I say, I wouldn't go back. However the Hotel provides an acceptable value for money.
They did not transfer us, from airport, to hotel as we set up,and had to take a taxi for that. When we arrived at 22:00, they immediately collected, in advance all the money, for the whole stay, after which I found that they did not have free the room reserved and just paid. They transfere us, at another hotel, a kilometer and some distance, with conditions well below the reservation level. The next morning we wanted to serve breakfast (paid), but the temporary host did not give us this, by sending us to Larco. After insisting we returned to Larco, we served breakfast (good), after which they told us the great surprise that we could enter in our room only after the hours of the catch when it was released. We started with great enthusiasm on this journey, especially as I read the comments about Larco and the fact that many Roumanians work in the hotel. But in the future I will avoid such situations. I have not had such an adventure with any European hotel, not even Turkish, and I claim that I have traveled .... After these, I started through Larnaca, I found another location, canceled the reservation, I moved to much better conditions, after of course, I destroyed a day of my stay.
My partner and I arrived early morning as we had been to Larnaca for a wedding celebration and we needed a place to spend the night. Larco is a budget hotel so I did not expect much but I was pleasantly surprised by the room. The beds were clean and very comfortable. In addition there were annoying no sounds coming from the surrounding bedrooms. The only minor drawback was the fact that the hotel is in great need for a renovation. The bathroom tiles are cracked which makes it a bit dangerous. Overal the stay was satisfactory and I would recommed it for a single night trip.
We booked a room at Larco hotel between Oct 6 to Oct 12. When arriving to the hotel we've been told that "there is a problem with the room" and the receptionist sent us to the most horrible hotel that anyone could imagine "Onicillos hotel" for one night. Cobwebs everywhere, dirty, many broken accessories even the toilet bowl and bead smell. the guy and the woman at the reception were awful an extremely impatient. When asking the next day when we go back to Larco the receptionist said that we are booked for 2 nights. Having no other option we spent one more disastrous night ar Onicillos Hotel and went to look for a proper hotel in the city For understandable reasons we dodn't want to go back to Larco Hotel as we lost confidence that anything there would be different to Onicillos hotel. We ran away from Onicilllos and found a very good hotel: Achilleos and saved our vacation. We lost our money for the additional nights at Larco (or Onicillos??). Never book or go to these Hotels!!!
it's like your uncle decided to build a hotel 30 years ago himself and haven't change anything . everything you touch will break. the toilet venta dosen't work, the air condition was working well about 10 years ago and the electric fuse box "booms" when you enter the key to turn on the power. btw the door of the fuse box kept on falling every time we closed a door. i had my doubt when we asked to see the room before we paid and was refused... the room was similar to other rooms i've been, in indian 20 rupee guest house . there is a little problem with the pool which was on the public sidewalk with a meter wall... on the good side the place was cheap and !clean! and close to the beach and breakfast was ok.
Hopefully, we didn't stay in this hotel but I'd like to share this experience with the other travelers so you know you can skip this place. We were traveling by the end of September to Larnaca, Cyprus for a longer weekend. We made a reservation through the booking.com and as usual, there were no issues with proceeding with it. After few weeks I got the info that my credit card was not processed which happened for me for the first time (after traveling to ca. 20 different countries worldwide). I tried to re-set it through booking.com but somehow it didn't work. Also, I called the hotel three times (no answer) and sent them an e-mail (no answer as well). However, during the day of check-in I got the confirmation from booking.com that my reservation was successfully processed. While we arrived to check-in in the evening, the receptionist lady was so rude to let us know that we cannot stay here because of no place/room in the hotel, that "entire Larnaca is booked" and there are no other alternatives for us, even after showing the booking.com positive confirmation received earlier this day. We found the other hotel in 3 mins after leaving this place which was a good experience for us. Even happy we didn't stay in Larco Hotel, as the patio entrance and receptionist desk looked shabby and even scary following the rude and impolite receptionist staff.
The only word I can use to describe this poo hole is disgusting ! Avoid it like the plague . When we arrived we thought we were in Beirut ! I know your gonna say you get what you pay for but come on ? Mould ! Dirty towels ! Cracked and broken tiles in swimming pool ! A howling dog from 5 in the morning ! Building site with drilling from 7am next door ! We walked out after 2 nights . It's an absolute disgrace and should not be trading as a hotel AVOID ! AVOID! AVOID ! The list goes on and on Also staff are rude
The Larco is a budget hotel so this is taken into consideration in my review. I had a room at the end of the hall where there was no lighting, so it was difficult to use the key on the tricky lock set. It was frustrating actually to struggle to get in. A light bulb in the hall fixture would have been nice. The electricity in the room is activated once the room key is inserted in a device on the wall. Night time locking of the door had to therfore be done completely in the dark. When I arrived at checkin they were trying to move me to a different hotel without a pool. I stated my preference for a pool and they found me a room (I had reserved ahead). Overall the room was clean except for the bathtub and shower curtain (picture attached). I overheard the proprietor speaking with other guests and saying they will be renovating soon. A renovation is not needed for shower cutains and light bulbs, however. When they renovate a dressing the way electricity is supplied would be great because is impossible to charge phones and such if you are not in the room. This hotel receives good reviews because it offers a number of facilities that make it a good choice for families and groups. They have very generous common spaces and seating areas to hang out in. The location is good. It's walking distance to the beach area and to some Larnaca sites, and it is in a nice neighborhood.
We recently stayed here for the day. Its extremely dated (think of the 1970,s style hotels).its also dirty in public areas and bedrooms. The bathrooms really need ripping out in fact the whole place needs a total refit from top to bottom!!! The staff are very indifferent bordering on rude. I stood at the desk for at least 20 mins before I was sorted. My advice is to avoid this hotel at all costs!!!!
We felt very well ! It was an unforgettable holiday for us and for our friends. We will be back definitely to Larco , and I'm going to recommend your hotel to others too . Thank you so much for everything !
