The staff are friendly and it’s clean enough but that’s about it. There is no wifi in rooms, only common areas. The shower wasn’t great. Not much pressure and going from way too hot to lukewarm. Very simple accommodation. And although it’s the cheapest option it’s not worth the money. There are “rules” that states “toilet blocks will occur” if paper is put in and guests will be charged for plumbing fee... also doors don’t keep any sound out, so when your neighbour goes to the bathroom it sounds like someone is using the one in your room. I generally stay in hostels but couldn’t find one in this area so booked the cheapest hotel. Still I was expecting since it’s a hotel it would be a step up from hosteling..
Shabby apartments though shower room refurbished. A group of kids who were disciplined and well-behaved were an example to all adults, possibly Russian kids. Lift works well. Kids did not mess with it. Luckily. Quite a walk from the sea for elderly persons. Helpful reception and kitchen workers. Kitchen looks quite upside down. Bar stocked well for British customers. Swimming pool quite big. Busy with kids though big enough. Average apartment not hotel though good service.
I booked this hotel before our flight home as it is only about 2-3 miles from the airport terminal. The position is super - quiet and yet about a 3 minute walk to the beach and marina. The first thing to say is that our twin bedded room did not look like the photos. It was dated and in need of refurbishment - especially the small bathroom. I get that it is "cheap and cheerful" but I still expect hot water to have a shower after a hot day but it was only cold water, nor was there any hot water the following morning. That was unforgivable. The public rooms were fine, the pool area is also fine. It is a low cost hotel so expect to pay for extras such as breakfast, wifi or towel for the pool (using your room towel is forbidden). The final thing was that the "taxi" we booked through the reception appeared to be a private vehicle (albeit a very nice car) and at a higher cost than the taxi kiosks were advertising around the area. Maybe it is legal in Cyprus to use a private vehicle and take taxi bookings? I do not know.
if you are a budget tourist better to hind house for a rent. i have never been in such a horrible place. with one look everything is ok. but staff is so rude and impolite. they have horrible breakfast and stupid laws. worst part of hotel is staff, even if you are strarving better not to eat breakfast, rooms are small and old. for example in my room there is another door connecting with other room. its just closed. :)) better to find some other hotel or rent a house.
Listed as 3* Hotel so expect to get what you pay for as far as the room is concerned. The room was clean and with a balcony,TV,Wc,AC and shower. Furniture was a bit dated and the walls could have done with painting in places but had a comfortable stay. The reception, lounge, bar, dining and pool areas is a well designed. All staff reception(Olga),dining, bar, cleaning were helpful, friendly and professional which led to a good ambience in the Cactus Hotel. The logistics was excellent for me about 10 mins by bus 425(upstairs entrance in airport 1st left 50M to bus stop)from Larnaka Airport could also take taxi.Managed to save some money by taking bus from/to Larnaka Airport(€1.5/€2.5fare ask driver to let you off at Cactus Hotel(short walk). Seafront,Marina,Activities,Shops, restaurants,Finikoudes Beach,Larnaka Town 5/10 min walk from Hotel.
A very good hotel for anyone on a budget. Me and my family wanted somewhere well located for a nights sleep. The beach and town centre is a 20 minute walk away with a couple of bars/restaurants en-route. The hotel itself is very dated. Gradual improvements are constantly taking place but everything is very basic. The bed was very comfortable and the room was always cool enough, I rarely had the air-con turned on. The walls are very thin so any movement or conversation in the next room was impossible to avoid so hope you have respectable neighbours! The staff are all very pleasant even though a lot of them struggled with basic english... Breakfast is extremely basic but did the job for us. Boiled eggs, tomato, cucumber (some days), olives, two cooked meat ham slices, sausages one day (they were pretty nasty anyway so no loss!), cheese slices, white and brown bread for toast, two cereals, two juices and tea/coffee. Only spent an hour at the pool, which was clean and had plenty of sunbeds although you won't be surprised to hear they are old. All in all it was a pleasant stay due to the low price we paid.
We are extremely disappointed with your hotel and will write reviews everywhere !!!!! 1. We had a paid breakfast for 6 days and since I'm allergic and I can eat only cucumbers and nothing left of breakfast, I asked at the reception to at least provide me. She had cucumbers for only 1 day. I paid for a breakfast I did not use! Before you arrived, you sent me an email stating that she had cucumbers. 2. In the room for two people there were 2 small towels and one large. And on the second day I dug her big towel on the floor and after cleaning the room the same dirty cloth was folded and left on my clean clothes. 3. On Wednesday night 4.10. three Russians were stationed above us, who were screaming like mad at 2 o'clock in the night, and more drunk women joined them. After I asked at the reception to make a note to them, the receptionist of your crazy hotel sent me the CLIENT to go to the second floor to see the room number as he could not. I pay for a break and get one. FULL DIVERSITY. I'll tell everywhere what's going on in this hotel
I just came.back from.this terrible.hotel,I was really shocked.the.room.was totally dirty when we first entered, they changed towels.only once through the whole week, although I asked to change, they cleaned room.only twice. Terribly dirty situation at the swimming pool area, and the worst ever service.I was there with my one year old daughter,I bought all vegetables and cleaned in my room,I just asked to.boil on gas for ten minutes and they said no,my baby was really hungry and crying,I was.holding her and asking just for 10minutes and they said go away and show me with finger like iam crazy. I was in shock.terrible place,I will.never forget such bad experience in my life, dont go there dont ruin your holidays.
Room was cheap but cheap dose not always get you good conditions. Furniture was old, only 1 working electric plug in the room, food was not that great as you are better suited eating at a restaurant. Swimming pool closes at 18:00 so if you plan to enjoy a few hours there in the evening you can forget about it, also the pool chairs are in bad conditions. Staff was ok
The service was a little poor they changed the sheets and the towels only in every 3 days. Very bad smell in the room from the bathroom. There was noise from the airport but it was ok . The breakfast was poor and not really good.
