I lived in room 215 and had cockroaches, the dripping air dripped water into the room. I took the receptionist's cocktail that said she also has it at home and I'm in all of Cyprus. In the elevator is a phone as old as the furniture. Breakfast is repeated every day is not worth it. Staff are older and give the information they want. I certainly do not come back to this hotel.
I dont want to say only bad things, bec. for my needs it was ok, but for people who like to stay in the hotel to rest it is not the best place to stay, PRO: The hotel is not located right next to the beach, but just a few minutes walk from it, therefore this is a VERY quet area. My friends who were staying in the center never slept due to cars, pubs and loud music all night. We on the other hand always had a good night sleep. Hotel staff spoke english from very good to Only Russian :) There is aircondition in the room, which is a must during high season, however ours was above the bed and I dodnt think it was healthy having it on all night, but I was able to sleep well. If you are into exploring more and not staying in the hotel to rest, it will be very confy and a good place to return to after a long day of having fun. They hace recommended a a good place neraby to rent a carm which came in handy after we strugled to find a car. CON: Geeeee. the breakfast... for the liove of GOD dont ask for any food in there. We stayed there for a week and every single day the same very very cheap plastic food. Two type of cheese that tasted like plastic, margarine, mrmaled (50 % fructose 50 % sugar) canned meat, bioled egg, bitter olives, instand coffee made of powder and tomatoes, toast bread the cheapest type. They had this water station, we realised that it contains actually tap water, they refill the same bottle every day) I stopped having breakfast after 3 days and regreted paying for it. Cleaning occures every day, however our room was skipped every once in a while, they haven't even been there, while my friends room next to us was cleaned.. so I think they are flipping a coing whose room will be cleaned. They are changing your towels after 3 days. The aircom machines ventillator is right on your balcony, making it impossible to stay there more than 2 minutes. Dont buy the towels they offer for 8 EUR for the beach, You can get one for 5 in the local Kiosk next to the beach in every 100 m. Bike rental next to it offer is 6 EUR/day, you can hace cheaper deals on the beach. No wifi inside the rooms unless your room is on the st floor and it is still in the range of free cactus wifi. However My samsung NEO s3 coundt connetc to it, My friend Iphone did, In the rooms you have to PAY for it. (that's rude)
it was so terrible, I have never had such a trip. Hotel stuff was very unfriendly, you can not ask anything, nobody smiling and in a good mood. room clearance, was awful, because they change a towels in three days. there was outside part of air conditioning in the balcony and you can't stay 3 minute.
Pros The hotel is near Mackenzy beach, they have air conditioning in every rooms and pool. Cons Many loud russians, you need to pay to have wi-fi and fridge in your room. You also need to pay for a towel if you want to take it to the beach.
Thought Cactus hotel offered great value for money. Particularly favourable points were the location, the hotel pool and bar and friendliness of staff. The hotel more than met my expectations at every level for it's rating and price paid so for me there were no negatives.
Just returned from a stay here and we decided to go very basic and just have the room there with our 3 year old (who was in our bed- no extra bed provided but that was ok) It had a shower and balcony with air con and a tv -showing English films every night we were there. The staff were very friendly and the pool, bar area and dining area were all really good. There is free wifi in the social areas but a charge in the room. Drink prices are ok - 2 euros for a can of coke but I think thats about average there. We had one breakfast there as we wanted to eat out and enjoy the local scene, breakfast for us three was ten euros, a mini buffet of toast, eggs, cereals, jams, cheese, cucumber with tea/coffee/juice etc. Its in a good location and was ideal for our visit. If you want a room for the night with a shower and some tv etc this is for you, there was a lot of negative comments, I didnt find it dirty or shabby but then we were just using it as a base to visit family there.
Just returned from a super 8 days in Larnaka. We stayed at the Cactus Hotel & was truly taken with all aspects, the rooms were very clean & have recently been updated, the pool was amazing, food was excellent & staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning. 👍🏻😎😎😎. Karen & Dave.
accommodation: 9 nights Travel by intercity bus from Larnaca to: Ayia Napa, Nicosia, Kyrenia, Paphos, Limassol. Cruise by Aphrodite II from: Ayia Napa to Famagusta. The coastline between the two towns is beautiful with many special features including sea caves and archways carved into the white limestone cliffs and from the comfort of Aphrodite II you can relax onboard and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Your friendly Captain and crew are there to answer your questions as you pass pretty domed chapels and small sandy coves, fishing boats and light houses and when you have reached a particularly beautiful bay with shimmering water, they will be there encouraging you to take the plunge!
Staying in Cactus hotel was an overall great experience. The hotel is just a few minutes on foot from the coastal road and the main street of Larnaca. Great food and hospitality and at very reasonable prices. Looking forward to staying there again!
We spent three nights at this Hotel and found it to be quite comfortable. Nice and clean room, and a nice and varied breakfast. Owners and employees are very polite and ready to provide you with anything you need. The pool was lovely too. Perfect location just 10 minutes walk from the seaside and the famous Finikoudes street. We highly recommend it.
