My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Villa Vik for a week in December. It is a little piece of paradise, lovely and quiet with wonderfully attentive staff. One thing to note is the pool is advertised as heated but it is not. We did a tour of a vineyard, the submarine trip and the sunset and dolphins trip where we did get to see some dolphins which was fab. All the trips were good fun. I also had a massage in the hotel which was really good. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel. Hopefully we will be back next year.

We travelled here for five days, had a junior suite, transfers and flights for six days, £464 total cost, it was out of this world! The hotel is beautiful, the food amazing, service is second to none from all staff, views amazing, nice shops and bars and marina ten mins walk away, beach next door, if this offer came up again we would take it without a doubt, 32 degrees in November, nothing we could fault about the hotel, only 5/6 mins transfer from the airport. Just fantastic!!

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Vik for nine nights half board at the beginning of October and each day and evening was a delight. The property bears no resemblance to the stereotype sunshine hotel being in the middle of a development of lavish private villas between the airport and Arrecife. If you want a completely relaxing holiday with a pool which for much of the time is empty, plenty of sun loungers and varied three course fine dining, this is the place for you.We hired a car for four days to explore the island and the rest of the time chilled out. A friendly and accommodating staff quietly add to the ambiance but if you want late nights and hi-jinks this is NOT the place for you. Be warned: if you like to have a stroll for a mid-morning coffee(like us) the nearest caffeine outlets are in Arrecife, 20 minutes one way or Playa Honda 35 minutes in the other direction. Each is reached along a super sea-front promenade with great views. With knock-out weather we couldn't have asked for more and enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Villa Vik is situated only a few minutes drive from the airport. It is an oasis of rest. It is a small boutique hotel. In the area of Villa Vik there is nothing to do at all. So unless you want to stay at your hotel your whole holiday for relaxing ( which is no punishment) you need transport ( rental car) to get somewhere. You can walk along the ‘ boulevard’ to playa Honda or Arrecife, but it takes you 30 min ( 1 way) and there is not much too see on the way there. ( also don’t expect too much when you get at these 2 places..)The hotel also offers free bikes, which can be a good option to move around. The hotel has 2 floors. It has private parking, a small reception, bar / lounge area, restaurant and garden with swimming pool and big hot tub. Overall it is very clean everywhere. The rooms are decorated a bit old fashioned, but fine, with good bed, safe, big bathroom, and minibar. Also every room has a nice terras/ or balcony. It is cleaned twice a day. The swimming pool and garden area look very nice. There are numerous ‘ private ‘ spots where sun beds are. 1 thing I would recommend is to get new cushions since they are too thin, everybody was using 2 , myself ( with a bad back) even 3. And some of them did not look very well any more. The restaurant has ‘indoor’ and outdoor tables. Another recommendation : move the couches from this area to the area on the right of the swimming pool, as everybody wants to sit at the outdoor tables, so you can put more tables over there. Breakfast was ok, but quite standard. Very nice you could order eggs the way you want them, but the buffet was missing some creativity in my opinion. For lunch you can order salads or sandwiches. Ok, but not 4/5 star quality. For diner you can choose from 2 to 4 options for starter/ main and dessert. Quality very nice. French kitchen. A bit disappointing was the fact that in 7 days we never had any typical Spanish food...( why no tapas or bbq night?) Also the pace of serving the dishes was very quick. I was there alone, so for me it was no problem, but other people complained about this. The staff was friendly, but please send 2 of your waiters to an English course, because at the beginning it is charming, but in the end it can be annoying. Big complements for the cleaning and garden staff. Overall I had a very nice/ comfortable stay!

We were last week in Villa Vikin Lanzarote. The hotel has a very good service and good food and rooms. A nice swimming pool and jacuzzi in a lovely garden in a quiet surrounding. It is a very good hotel for couples without children.

This lovely little 19 roomed villa is tucked away in an affluent residential area. It is tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings This was a last minute holiday as we had a bad experience with a secret escape holiday that ended up being cancelled 5 days before travel. Fate was definitely on our side ! We have 2/3 holidays a year and believe me I am as fussy as they come! Difficult to please! So on reading some of the existing reviews about the hotel not being up to 4 star standards and food not being good, I had some anxieties! However please do not take notice as this was definitely not the case. Food is fresh and prepared/cooked to a high standard! The staff here are amazing! They go out of their way to help. Belfa, Angie, Stefano, Alexandre and Hiro, all really lovely including the cleaning staff and even the handymen are helpful. Our room had a walk in wardrobe and the bathroom was lovely! The balcony though was amazing. We had a hot tub, sun loungers and views to die for. The hotel proves bikes so we took advantage of this and went cycling most days to playa Honda along the cycle path that goes all the way along the coast. Lovely tapas bars and restaurants facing the sea. Also went to Puerto Del Carmen old town and ate in the lovely restaurants overlooking the harbour. The icing on the cake was the 2 other couples we met up with. Doug, Pat, Captain Frank and Pirate Lolly! We had a fab time with lovely company and good wine! I don't usually visit the same place twice but this is one place I will look forward to returning to !!

Stayed at Villa Vik for a week in September. Great location, near to the airport. The staff told us wrongly that no buses ran from near the hotel - they do!! So, money wasted on taxis. The room was lovely. Surroundings were lovely. But not 5 star or even 4 star by any stretch of the imagination. Poor service - many of the staff don't understand English. So you can expect to re-order meals 2 or 3 times. Especially at breakfast time. Poor quality of food - a previous review said 'boil in the bag' meals. We would agree with that. Dinner menu - the menu is displayed each day. You can ignore that as either the dish has been taken off the menu by evening or the meal bears no resemblance to what's on the menu. The staff just laugh when they tell you the menu has changed (again). Bar service - again, you can expect to re-order more than once as many of them the staff don't understand English. Sun loungers - very tired and very uncomfortable. Also very few parasols around the pool. Lots of flies too. Atmosphere - none. Everyone disappears. Probably as the service is so bad. All credit to Angie and Stephan who tried really hard to please. Not recommended.

Stayed for 10 nights. Food very poor, ate out in Arrecife most nights after rejecting half board. staff attitude poor. Said they were too busy for room service on 25th wedding anniversary. Created a poor atmosphere through the stay. Will not stay again or recommend.

The Villa Vik is a superb small Hotel with excellent facilities and staff at all levels. Everyone we encountered had a smile and a greeting for us throughout our stay. The restaurant we would highly recommend, the menu is restricted but the food of your choice is excellently cooked and presented.

Lovely environment but let down by inedible food and poor service. We tried the evening meal twice and it was inedible boil in the bag - flavourless. We ate out in fabulous restaurants in arrecife for the rest of our ten night stay. We asked if we could have room service for breakfast on our 25th wedding anniversary but we're told the team were too busy to do room service. My husband went downstairs and got a tray of fruit and cheese together and brought it up to our room. The villa itself is beautiful but let down by poor quality food and poor service. There are better hotels in Arrecife- this is a poor three star hotel at best
