Having booked this hotel I then started to read the reviews (always a bad idea) and whilst I appreciate people have different standards we had no complaints. I would rate this hotel a 4* but with just a few improvements it could be a 5*. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Welcomed with a glass of Cava, staff were welcoming and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Lobby impressive. ROOM: We were lucky to have a fantastic sea view room which also overlooked the hills in the distance. No problems at all with the room apart from the air conditioning was a bit noisy and could probably do with a service. We were celebrating our anniversary and a bottle of bubbly and cake was waiting for us courtesy of the hotel, a lovely touch. The beds were changed twice during our weeks stay. It was a quiet room with no noise from the main hotel. No iron or board which seems a bit daft, you only get that in the Presidential Suite apparently. ALL INCLUSIVE: We opted for this option but were disappointed that the mini bar was at an extra cost, we only wanted some water in the evening. I'm an extremely fussy eater and I had no complaints about the food, good variety and freshly cooked while you wait. We only ate in the buffet restaurant and never queued to get in. You do need to check the drinks menu as not all is included but plenty of variety. POOLS: Cleaned every day our only complaint is they were freezing. Not one of them was heated so they were virtually empty, which was a shame. Plenty of sunbeds with cushions and parasols to go round and the hotel was full. Life guard always on duty. STAFF: All were very pleasant and work extremely hard from dawn till dusk. It's quite shocking how some people talk to the staff and don't thank them for what they do. ENTERTAINMENT: The Beatles tribute band were good and the dark haired lady singing was also very good. I'm not sure if the blonde haired singer was put there as a dare but it gave everyone a laugh, bless her. LITTLE IMPROVEMENTS: You have to leave a 20 euro deposit for each pool towel. We've traveled to many countries and this is the first time we've had to do this. You pay your money, are given a card which you exchange at the pool for a towel. The card is handed back to you when you return the towels. If someone takes your towels, tough, you loose your card and subsequently your deposit. Are people really that sad that they have to steal a pool towel? A heated pool is advertised and at this time of year you would expect it. Whilst it's quite funny watching people tiptoeing into the freezing water it's not so funny when they hit an iceberg !!!! Turn the heating on please. I know you say there is a no iron policy but seriously if you want to be 5* then an iron is expected (I think). Not nice walking around in crumpled clothing pulled out of a suitcase. If you are all inclusive please include water in the mini bar. We were asking for bottles at the pool bar and taking it to our room, so it was free anyway. OVERALL: We had a really relaxing holiday, the hotel was lovely and we will most definitely be back next year. Thank you Hesperia, definitely recommend.
the hesperia hotel is very nice! the rooms are perfect for a long holiday and there are several pools to cool off in. we never had problems finding sunbeds to relax on, but we did notice that some tourists started 'reserving' their sunbed in the early morning. when I mentioned this to the staff, he just shrugg his shoulders, so hopefully this hotel won't become one of those mass tourist places where you have to scramble for a sunbed
Fantastic hotel great staff, if you are not all inclusive the food options are a bit limited. We just wanted a snack one night and had to have room service as only the main restaurants were open and it's €30 fixed price per person.
This hotel was excellent, all the staff are so friendly and helpful, it is spotlessly clean the food is excellent especially breakfast where there is an abundance of choice, the pool and area around it is a great place to relax . I would definitely return to this hotel
We have been to a large number of 5* hotels in the cannery islands and we particularly liked the Hesperia. We like the fact that although the hotel is of a high standard it seems to attract fairly relaxed guests. We have been to some hotels that seem to attract “footballers wives” types which is not really for us. The rooms were good, our only criticism of the whole trip was that our balcony had mainly views of the trees growing directly in front of it. The food was freshly cooked in front of us and there was always a good choice of fairly healthy options, so we didn’t come back having put a load of weight on. We were half board but unlike some hotels there was no difference between drinks we were paying for and drinks for those on all inclusive. There was also plenty of staff so you could get served at the bar. Would we go back, definitely
First of all It was Amazing. At time of arrival at the reception you will get a glass of Cava to have a wonderful start of your holiday. Kaya from Guest Experience directly contacted us and made us feel very welcome! Afterwards Anabel and Alberto cam to us to greet as well. After this nice welcoming we got to our room which was ready at 12 pm (GREAT) the room was on the 4th floor and was a nice and decent size room. The facilities and the breakfast are amazing. So much choices from international to Spanish specialties. You can even Sport at the hotel with a tennis court etc around. The surrounding of the hotel gives you an excellent space to run. The great advices from Anabel and Alberto helped us to explore Lanzarote. They really gave us the extra ordinary feeling with all their help. I can highly recommend this Resort to other Travelers. A place where you can relax but you can also make it an active vacation. Thank you very much for the great services.
We were looking for a few nights way in the sun and the Hesperia fit the bill nicely. We stayed on a B&B basis as there are pleanty of small resturants a short walk along the coast in the harbour, but the hotel has a number of resturants but we were told they were booked up even if we wanted to stay in one night!. Breakfast was good with the usual variety of hot and cold buffet. This is taken in two resturants, one either side of the pool entrance, what we never understood was everyone seemed to que up to get in to one and the other was a lot quiter and you were seated straight away as a result it was a nice place to be! There are two pool areas, and always managed to get a bed, but in high season that may not be the case! They have a strange towel system where you pay a 20euro deposit per person at the start of your stay are then given a card at reception that you take to the pool for your towels. I suppose that does stop towels being left on a beds just to reserve them. There is entertainment at night with a live band outside by the pool at a piano player inside. Room was clean, a fair size with a balcony and offered what you needed (shower bath etc) but basic. There is free wifi which we found was fine for our needs. Overall it did the job and happy to recommend.
Loved it here. Efficient friendly staff, beautifully clean, (despite some guests who thought it was ok to leave uneaten ice creams/dirty glasses by the pool) Had B&B breakfasts were amazing, snack bar by the pool nice, lovely 10min to the marina for restaurants, lovely suite with sea views, bath robes/slippers, nice size terrace with sun loungers (meant we could escape the ridiculous practise of putting towels on beds at 7.30am even though there was no need to do that!) Pools were warmish, but then we did have lovely weather the week we were there. Lovely touch was that the lady who cleaned our room would always do something funny & cute with our daughters' teddies! We will return, & we would recommend.
First time staying at this hotel and could not fault it all... The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help you. Rooms were spotless and clean . Food was lovely and plentiful. Would highly recommend it for a lovely relaxing break .
The Hotel is everything you could wish for a break, breakfasts excellent, restaurants a bit lacking in ambiance for dinner, but plenty of choice down at the marina. The place generally clean and well maintained. Downside, no heated swimming pool so no swimming unless your young or hardy. Not alone in this the pools were virtually empty, very little poolside attendance .
