We stayed at Club del Carmen for 11 nights in July, it was the perfect family summer holiday. Our kids are 14 and 10. We were in a 2 bed villa which had been recently refurbished and was more than we were expecting! It had everything we needed, even a dishwasher. There were two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the ground floor and a shower/toilet and large living room/kitchen on the upper floor. A lovely balcony too with table and 4 chairs and 2 sun beds. All staff from reception to cleaners and maintenance were really lovely, very helpful and happy! The pool was lovely, heated which was an added bonus, a kiddies pool and jacuzzi too. Baileys bar was really nice, we ate here a few times at lunch time instead of going out and it was very good food. We also had an evening meal the same night they had a "pool movie night". Couldn't fault it the food was great, the staff were also really friendly and did everything they could to make sure we had a great time! The girl that did the entertainment was a joy, she did her job brilliantly, got so many people involved in the poolside games... pool, darts, water polo, bingo etc. Our kids don't normally want to take part in anything like that on holiday but here they were more than happy to get involved! We met so many lovely people from all over the UK, England, Scotland Ireland and Wales, they helped make out holiday extra special! All in all this was a really lovely complex for a relaxing holiday and we would not hesitate to go again! (We've already been looking for next year!)
I stayed at this resort about two weeks ago and enjoyed it! This was my first time in Lanzarote and was glad to find out that this resort was close to a supermarket, shops, restaurants, and the beach. When I arrived at the counter to check in, I was greeted by a man who made me sign forms, and gave me the keys to my room. He was nice, but not as helpful as I hoped. He did not seem very enthusiastic, and did not offer me information about the location, things to do nearby, etc. I would have liked a warmer greeting. The room was very spacious and clean. There was a living room, full kitchen, big bathroom, and bedroom. I felt comfortable and enjoyed having an apartment for the week. The balconies are right across from the pool, which was very crowded. People line up at 9am to reserve chairs, so get there early if you want to have access to the pool. I did not go in it because I spent that time at the beach. The beach is right across the street from the resort. It is very clean and there are plenty of chairs to sit on. However, I was disappointed to find that the water was very cold! I liked laying out in the sun and getting a tan. The woman at the desk (I'm not sure what her name is) was very friendly and helpful. She recommended that my boyfriend and I rent a car to explore the island. She was right! We rented the car for three days and was able to see most of the island. With google maps, it was easy to find each place we wanted to visit. We rented the car from the little booth right next to the resort. It was very affordable. I would definitely stay at this resort again because the rooms are great. It would have been way better if the male staff (the two that I came across) was friendly and helpful. One of them did not seem to care much.
Just returned from 1 week at this amazing complex with my family of 4. Myself, wife and 2 daughters 14 & 11... We only booked this holiday 2 days before flying and having never been to Lanzarote before we were not sure what to expect........ However we should not have been worried as from the moment we arrived on the Sunday lunch time and met the Receptionist who checked us in and helped us lots through to the amazing room that they then gave us we had the most amazing week away... I have no negatives as I would be just picking the smallest of faults so here are some real positives; The whole complex is clean ,tidy and well maintained The 1 bedroom apartment we were given was recently refurbished and was spotless and had everything you would need when self catering, it was a home from home. Don't worry if your kids are worried about a sofa bed as it is massive and very comfortable Balcony overlooked the pool and the bar, however we never heard any noise or were kept awake. The pool is clean and well kept and has a lifeguard all day... yes they are occasionally short of beds, however if you go down at 9am you will get some. The Entertainment Lady is amazing and keeps everybody going, whether it is Pool competitions, water polo, bingo in the sun or music quizzes she works really hard and is funny and we all loved her enthusiasm The staff are all so friendly from the reception team, through to the cleaners and then the bar staff who are happy to serve you all day and they even sat and spoke to us some days about our family or even there family's, amazing staff and a credit to the complex... Final bonus point is happy 2 hours between 5 & 7 when drinks are buy 1 get 1 free and the atmosphere around the bar area is great at this time and we met lots of friends from England, Wales,Scotland & Ireland, you all know who you are!! The complex itself is in between Puerto Del Carmen and Matagordar and is 2 minutes from the beach... so you can go out and turn right or left and you will find lots of bars, restaurants and shops (spar 10 mins away)..... To finish one of the best holidays we have had in recents years and did not want to come home and will we be back??? Already looking 👍
I have just returned from a week in a two bedroom apartment at club del carman, and I have to say all reception and restaurant/ bar staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble for any of them, our apartment was clean and like spacious, food in the restaurant was brilliant we didn't have one bad meal, cocktails from the bar lush too. I only have one negative point and that was the pool closed at 7 pm,but apart from that brilliant holiday xx
I'm have racked my brain and I cannot come up with anything that Club Del Carmen could change or add to improve things. We took a two bedroom apartment for last week and we're really impressed. They call it a villa but really it is a duplex with two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and another bathroom and the kitchen/sitting room upstairs. The balcony had a nice view towards the beach. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need including a dishwasher, integrated microwave and good cooking facilities. There were some limited items such as coffee, tea and dishwasher tablets to get you started which I thought was a nice touch. The pool is a bit small but it does have a jacuzzi which makes up for that. Had no problem getting a sun lounger as the lifeguard was very helpful even if you came poolside late in the day. The staff here are very nice, all with a friendly greeting for you and a good helpful attitude. The apartment had been recently refurbished and I can't say whether they are all to this standard but if they are it is hard to see what they can do to improve things. Best holiday apartment I have ever stayed at.
Lovely one week holiday. 4 adults in one bedroom apartment. Very clean and modern with all kitchen utensils, towels etc provided. Excellent staff who were very welcoming and accommodating. Quiet complex, nice poolside bar/restaurant. Directly across from beach. Easy walking(15-30mins) or bus to main strip. Would return.
Would like to say a big thank you to Ghali, Oscar, Joseph and all the other staff for excellent food and friendly service. The food was excellent and the chicken fajitas were especially good. Andrea (the Michael Buble fan) and family x
Booked online last minute- flight got cancelled at 00:14am booked it at 00:30, I rang to confirm the booking and to ensure some one will be there when we arrived as it mentions in the email. arrived at hotel at 02:00am. We wasn't the only ones to book the hotel, the poor blokes on reception were very busy but checked us in and gave us cards and pointed us in the direction of our rooms. Once we got to the front door we realised we needed keys. Back down to collect the keys and into the apartment! It was a lovely one bedroom self catering apartment that was perfect for our stressful night. Bed was the most comfortable bed I had slept in for last ten nights (other hotel was not great beds). We had a double sofa bed too so must sleep four to each apartment. It looked as though it has everything you need for self catering. Each has a balcony with tables chairs and. Two sun beds. The bathroom was very nice, clean and updated and the shower was great (again last hotel shower was awful). In the morning we noticed that we over looked the pools, we didn't get to try them out but two pools and a jacuzzi. We went for a walk to the shopping mall which took about twenty mins along the beach. Check out was 10am but the lovely receptionist let us keep our room till about 1040ish she was very reasonable as she had heard what had happened the night before. They booked our taxis for the airport to. The only let down was that we heard some other families booked the hotel and the system could not of updated quick enough as when they arrived there was no rooms left after our terrible experience at the airport this was last thing any of us wanted.
Just returned from another great week in Club Del Carmen. Stayed several times over the years and the quality of the resort just keeps improving. The grounds are immaculate and the accommodations well equipped. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. It's maybe a 20 minutes walk into Del Carmen itself. Or equally you can stroll along the front to Matagorda.
Stayed here as a family of 4 in a one bed apartment. There is a large sofa bed in the living area which was comfortable although once opened as a bed there was too much furniture in the living room/kitchen to move ! There is a table with 4 chairs , a large coffee table & really cramped with furniture for 4 people. Out on the veranda there was a table with 4 more chairs & 2 sun loungers& also a clothes line. The apartment was very well equipped however there was no hand soap in the bathroom which Is a necessity. The apartment was very clean & modern & as we had requested a ground floor apartment we were happy when we got an apartment right next to the pool & bailys bar/restaurant. The large pool is heated & there's a kids pool & jacuzzi also. My kids loved the large pool which is supervised by a lifeguard daily. Usual complaint everyone booking beds early in the morning but not showing up until it suited them but it was quiet so we got beds every day. The bar/restaurant is expensive for drinks & snacks but they do a good breakfast for €2.50. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly especially towards my youngest child. Entertainment at night was really poor, usually consisted of a singer in the bar from 7.30-9.30pm (ish).. thought there would be more entertainment to suit families but there wasn't . My only strong complaint would be the cost of the internet - €5.95 per day & only 2 devices may connect ! This price is ridiculous in this day & age needless to say we didn't purchase it when other bars/restaurants provided same for free. The supermarket on the corner has fresh bread & everything one would need for their stay. Further up the strip there's a spar supermarket for more choice. The beach is across the street , water very deep so didn't go there with the kids. The main strip is 10/15 min walk but not too far, the old town is a longer walk but nice to stroll there in the evening . Taxis are really cheap too. Overall, we did enjoy our stay , we were glad we were away from the hustle & bustle of nightlife as we had 2 kids but it's central enough for those who want a bit of both. Would stay here again if we return to peurto del carmen.
