We went to the Costa Mar ApartHotel for 11 nights and I have to say it was much better than we had expected. The rooms are clean and spacious and were equipped for what we needed. We went self catering, but had heard the food was O.K on all inclusive, but it suits us to go S/C. This place is a short walk to the beach. There are restaurants vey near the beach for a quiet evening meal, and some bars that often have live music if you want it. We often got the bus further into Peurto Del Carmen for a change of scenery, the charge was 2.80 euros for 2 people and you could travel quite away for that. We took a trip to Playa Blanca, it was just short of an hour on the bus and cost 5 euro each way for 2 people. I would recommend the trip as it is a beautiful place. Although the apartments are a little dated, they are kept clean and fresh towels every couple of days and we had our bedding changed once while we were there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were plenty of sunbeds b y the pool.... but we did go at the end of September when it was quieter. The only thing I would say is that if you have any mobility issues tell them you want a low apartment as if could be very awkward for people less mobile. We would definitely book here again on our next trip to Lanzarote, a massive thank you to all the staff for helping make our holiday a very stress free one. xx
Myself and my partner stay a week in this hotel and the staff were fab. They guys on the desk spoke loads of different languages and were always willing to help. The hotel itself was clean and tidy. However, there were lots of stairs to our apartment, if you have small kids or older travellers I would opt for ground floor apartment. We are a couple in our late 20s and the main stripe was about a 2miles walk away, bare this in mind if you plan to party, although there is a gorgeous beach front and restaurants close at hand if you fancy a quiet night. The pool was an ideal size and family friendly, with plenty of sun loungers available for free. We did not eat it the hotel, however we heard loads of compliment regarding the food. On check out day, our bus was not collecting us until 6pm. We were given a complimentary shower room to freshen up around a long day at the pool and out luggage was stored safely for us for not extra charge. This was very helpful and accommodating Overall we had a lovely stay.
My daughter and I spent ten nights here. We were half board and only went out to eat in the local restaurants . We did venture down to the hotels restaurant once and found it to be full and so decided not to try again. We did however speak to other guests and were told that they didn't really enjoy the food. The bedrooms would definitely benefit from air con and the bathroom could really do with an overhaul. Staff were very friendly though and it was very clean
Stayed here for a week. Booked a 1 bed apt but got a 2 bed when checking in. Just my best mate and I. The apt was quite spacious, really basic, but very clean. We ate out every night so didn't cook, but if that's your thing then it looked like minimal cooking utensils and a very small 2 ring cooker that I wouldn't fancy trying. Toaster and kettle was all we needed and those were available. We git a huge big balcony overlooking the beach from there u climb a few stairs and we had our own private roof terrace, it was awesome, we sunbathed here everyday. Costa Mar was lovely and quiet, we slept like logs on reasonably comfy beds. If u turned left at reception a 5 min walk took you to loadsa shops and restaurants if you turned right a good 20 min walk took you to loadsa more restaurants, bars and shops, known locally as 'The Strip'. Restaurants to suit every palate, lots of them put free entertainment on, singers etc, most were pretty good. Costa Mar for us as 2 mates looking for a nice tame holiday was great and would defo recommend. Maybe not so much for kids as little or no entertainment and balconies were pretty high with no safety rails etc. Coukd probably do with a little tlc, but ut was cheap and chearful and ideal for me. Puerto Del Carmen is great. Beach is outstanding. I'd go back in a minute.
was quite worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews but apartment was basic but very clean with a huge balcony. Breakfast was repetitive but plentiful and pool area was nice with enough sunbeds for the time of year. we were in a 3rd floor apartment with a view but didn't expect to have to carry my heavy suitcase up 52 steps with no help at my age!! however did make it up in the heat but wouldnt want to have to do that again
We booked this hotel in May 2017, breakfest and dinner. This Apartment is so cool, it's big, staff is very nice. Food is so tasty and various, you can't eat so much that you would like to eat. You can pay your evening drinks with credit card or with cash. The hotel have nice swimming pool, it's clean, water is fresh. We are plesent surprised. We didn't expect too much.
Just back from Costa mar if your looking for a quiet holiday this is for you as there is absolutely no entertainment only a small pool bar which was shut by 9pm so had to get taxi in and out of town as its a good walk. No aircon . room very dated beds hard and stained. Spar shop next door reasonable prices. Pool cold and the music played was awful. The view from our verandah was good but that's about the only plus side. Sorry Costa mar but we will never be back.
I have just returned from a week trip here with my friend and 2 toddlers. When we arrived the lobby was tired looking and not very inviting - the couch area was dirty. However luckily our apartment was much cleaner looking in the G block. It was spacious and obviously one of the updated room and was cleaned well. Downfall being no aircon. But overall good room. The pool area for kids is small - not great. People seemed to turn their noses up at the kids for having fun. There is next to no entertainment at this complex and the main bar was always empty/closed. The kids mini disco was hardly on and if it was it was run by the pool lifeguard. The staff were ok however some friendlier than others most looked like they didn't want to be there. And I had a couple of encounters with rude bar staff. Overall there is not a nice/friendly vibe at this complex and definitely not suited for children. At night time the place is basically deserted. I would not return.
We stayed for 13 nights from 3rd September. We booked a 2 bed apt and asked for a 1st floor room and we got Block A -25. We had and added bonus of a sea view. Overall the apt was basic but met our needs. The reception advised that the room was refurbished but really all that had been done was a walk in shower had been installed, probably within the last few years and I was showing signs of serious wear and tear. We alternated between the pool and the beach. The pool was very cold the first week but improved from the middle of the next. We took the bus each night into the resort centre for dinner as there was only a couple of eating places near by. Cost €1.40 single each and we got a taxi back which ranged from €3.50 to €4.50. The 2nd bedroom did not have a window so it was extremely warm at night, the window in the larger bedroom opened out onto the landing so for safety this was opened overnight. I hired fans from "easyhire" in Lanzarote. The fans were delivered to us the same day, I couldn't have stayed in the rooms at night without them. I'd go back to Costa Mar again, but it could do with being updated but I suppose you get what you pay for.
three of us arrived costa mar aparthotel on 6th September 2017. initially there was a mix up with our booking which we sorted out with the hotel pretty quickly and as a good will gesture they gave the three of us our evening meals for our entire stay which was very much appreciated. as for the food it was exceptional. the breakfast was varied and very tasty, as was the evening meal. the waiter attention was brilliant and they couldn't do enough for you especially Mikel who catered for all our needs and came across as a very pleasant helpful young man, so thank you to him. the staff at reception were excellent and very helpful with directions and calling us a taxi. the apartment itself was a two bedroom apartment which was very big and had all the usual amenities such as fridge kettle toaster, tv, seating area, spacious bedrooms and great bathroom with shower and towels supplied which were changed every other day. the apartment was cleaned also and beds made or changed. the view from our apartment was brilliant and the local spar shop was about 5 minutes away. lots of shops and restaurants nearby. the pool area was good also. it was our first time staying in costa mar and will definitely recommend it to others and will definitely stay there again without a doubt. well done costa mar for making our holiday very enjoyable. thanks again.
