Family of 5. 2 adults 3 children under 10. Hotel:: Start on check in to the hotel. Staff were very helpful and attentive throughout our holiday. We had block I14 ( twin family apartment) which was lovely. The view from our apartment was the beach. Rooms very big and the beds were also a good size (and comfy might I add). Clean modern big bathroom with shower. All apartment was updated as I've seen pics before and was shocked to find it was modern inside. We stayed 1 week sheets were changed twice and lots of fresh towels left them two occasions so never ran out of clean towels. Location: We was literally right on the beach, you just had to cross one road and you would be there. A spar super market was literally as we walked down from our apartment I can't stress to you how close it is. There is a little gift shop nearby which is good value and has lots of different things inside. Taxi to the main high street was 3/4 euro which isn't a lot and save you a 45-55 min walk to it instead. Board: We was bed and breakfast board and read that to food wasn't that bad. It was 50/50 for us. 1 day it was Frankfurt mini sausage mushrooms fried eggs and scrambled eggs and the next day it was bacon fried eggs beans and boiled eggs . It rotated them two hot food menus. We enjoyed the bacon day more. Other breakfast items were cold meat and cheese. Porridge. Yogurt and fruit. Fresh rolls and bread for toast . Fresh rolls were really lovely and the fried eggs were best I've had ever. There were two coffe/tea machines and 2 juice machines. There was a serious negative about breakfast time I would say be prepared to have your helmets and knee pads on because it's like Mario kart racing. People will not care if you have 2 burning hot teas in 2 hands they will dart past you like the food will run out any second. We had some really rude people like you would be cueing like normal people and someone would just dive in when fresh stuff is brought out. Pool: The pool has 3 sections. Kids. Junior and deep pool. It was great as we have a 7,5, and 3 year old. My 7 yr old spent most of the time in the junior pool whilst other 2 happily played in the kids one. Pool was clean no problems. Plenty of beds and not a big rush in the mornings. Pool bar food was a reasonable price and does a nice burger and chips . Overall: I would say fantastic quality of holiday what we paid for at Costa mar I would return someday. A bit disappointed about the breakfast only rotating with 2 choices but hey you can't please everyone. Good review I would recommend to anyone.

All in all, only the pool could be heated and Wifi should be provided in the best quality. Quite far from the center but quiet surroundings. The breakfast was tasty, only the most wanted fresh fruit assortment. Near beach, car rental, shop.

We stayed here at new year , the weather was fantastic which we couldn't belive . The apartment was on ground floor just behind soar which was ideal . The staff and cleaners all very pleased and helpful . The apartments are s bit dated but clean and comfortable . 5 mins on bus into Puerto del Carmen . Would go back in a flash . Recommended !

Just back from a week stay at Costa Mar. Have to say was apprehensive after reading the reviews but honestly couldn't fault it. The place is spotless clean and staff were friendly and helpful. It's situated right beside restaurants and shops and with only a 15 minute walk into central Puerto Del Carmen. Would stay here again!

Stayed as a couple at the Costa Mar apartments in Los Pocillos in April 2017. Rather a large room with a spare bedroom and a separate bedroom. Well equipped for a self catering break with a large lounge/kitchen/dining room and a good sized balcony. A nice pool area with a bar for drinks and snacks and adequate amount of sunbeds. Ideally located for a two minute stroll to the huge beach where you'll find restaurants, shops and bars which serve from breakfast time through the day and evening. Only a ten minute stroll along the promenade and you reach a lot more restaurants etc with wonderful sea views to watch the sunset. If you feel energetic, you can walk into Puerto Del Carmen in 40mins for more upmarket restaurants.

The room is big with kitchen.u can cook.car rent is near in case u need to drive around the island.supermarket round the corner.bus stop to Arrecife runs every 10 mins.Quiet n private but WiFi not good.just to relax n dont do much if thats what u want.the food in the dining room are ok, not that fantastic. The guests r mostly returning long term staying guests.

Ok, so I'm a regular visitor to Matagorda, so when I couldn't get anything in Matagorda for a reasonable price I had to go further out, and this apartment came up at a great price (4 nights £149) I read reviews and was a bit worried, let's face it I haven't stayed anywhere in Lanzarote which was luxurious so I wasn't expecting much. I got A block no.41 when checked, this block is furthest away from reception, and it's a fair way, firstly you think ok, but is it too far away from reception or the pool, well yes it is if you need them regularly but i didn't so it was great for me. It's so far away you don't even feel part of the hotel which I loved, it just felt like you had a private rental. I had a great view of the whole bay, sun from dawn till dusk, terrace was massive and it's a 2 bedroom apt ...slightly overkill for 1 person but I loved it. Bathroom just had a walk in shower which again was great, water pressure was impressive and hot water was good. Beds were comfy ish..... I didn't have a bad night sleep but could be hard for some people. Overall the apartments are basic, but do have everything you need. Would absolutely stay here again, if I got the same apartment then I would be very happy.

If you have small children I'd advise somewhere else. Bathroom door didn't close or lock. cooker didn't work very well there was mold on curtains Gate fell of where the patio area was there was no bath for kids only shower swimming pool area not very safe for small children who can't swim.

Travelled with friends on 12 th Nov staying for 6 days , on check in we were greeted and checked in quickly and allocated rooms , we were 2 couples that requested rooms together , thankfully this wasn’t the case so both had rooms on A block , ours being A15 with a large terrace , holiday was in full swing no great issues with hotel until the Wednesday our room and next door were broken into and all our money possessions and personal items stolen including passports, next door , 2 women on there own also broken into beteeen 7:30pm and 9 pm . Had there stuff stolen too , they also tried to lever the safe from the cupboard , the safe however was not offered to us on arrival , when reported to duty manager he wasn’t that bothered and didn’t send anyone from the hotel to check our rooms . They had came thru the patio doors , no staff or security monitor the hotel do a word of warning to all staying watch your belongings .as someone mentioned in another review the rooms are well away from reception and right onto the car park , where obviously we had been watched ,after reporting to police and spoiling last 2 days of our stay we were informed this type of crime and at this hotel east the first time ... plus points nice resort loads to see and do , all walking distance. Low points hotel security and lack of hotel staff..and dodgy characters/ staff who may be watching to rob you.

Spent 2 weeks half board at the Costa Mar in November and found the hotel to be kept very clean, the staff were friendly, helpful and hard working. Good sized apartments but in need of refurbishment but only slept in them so not a problem. The downside of the hotel was the food, not much of a choice, lacked imagination although what was there was edible. The lounge bar never opened and no entertainment although advertised a full entertainment program. Some people like to go for a pre-dinner drink or a coffee or drink after dinner, but this was not an option. The pool bar closed at 6.00pm. There was no security surrounding the hotel, anyone could have walked off the street up the side of the hotel and walked around the grounds. It's not a bad hotel, ideal for bed and breakfast or self catering. I would recommend it if you just want to lie at the pool and do nothing all day or hire a car and venture out for the day.
