drive into the parking lot and see someone smoking drugs

American Best Value Hotel in Lancaster, PA, was the cheapest price for your money, and you absolutely get what you pay for....sometimes best value isn't all it's cracked up to be. The hotel needs to be updated, rooms are a little shabby, we had to call front desk for a toilet plunger, we had to unclog our own toilet, every time we flushed toilet, the whole entire room shaked. We got one day of missed housekeeping service, excuse used...full house, we overlooked, but they did respond to our needs and did send housekeeping over immediately. They gave us towels that had black stains all over it. The bathroom had mold on the walls where they might have had a water leak. The front desk help was of just okay quality, they could have a least given us a free day, but no chance. Won't be booking this hotel again, even though the location is great and this is the second time I used this hotel. First time, I rented the room with Jacuzzi, but every time we used the Jacuzzi we had to turn off all the lights, problem with electrical. I should have learned from that experience, but booked again, thinking next time I would not rent a Jacuzzi room, but no chance, the basic rooms are just okay, like I said you get what you pay for. Next time will book somewhere else.

Great value for the money! Sheets and bathroom were clean, which is always a must! There are restaurants and stores nearby, so that's convenient.

We booked a queen room but when we got there, they sold out and gave us 2 double beds. We're a bigger couple so we had to sleep in separate beds. Also when we got in the room it was filthy. Hair all over the place and food swept under the bed.

It's decent hotel to stay. Only thing I don't like is that there is no breakfast.

Easy to find, close to Franklin and Marshall and got deal for the price

This hotel is located on a busy street in an industrial area, across the street from the railroad tracks. There were no restaurants nor stores within walking distance. Unfortunately this is the only hotel that I could find on my way at the moment. Go another six miles east and you're find plenty of choices with restaurants nearby. The owner/office person was borderline rude; as if he didn't want the business. Frowning and seemingly unhappy.

Rooms were quiet during the week. Male voices in the parking lot during the night Friday into Saturday. Hotel was difficult to find (for me).

The rooms are clean. The pictures of the rooms are not the same as what the room conditions are. The was some damage on room wall. The price of the room was way to much to stay at this hotel.

Room was non smoking but it still smelled like cigarretts. The hotel staff did not want to see my reservation and charged me extra. No amenities at all. Will not return.

We had no choice since we decided couple of days before the trip ,went ahead and booked this hotel for our stay ,convinced by few customer's satisfactory review. But very disappointed ,cheaply maintained. The entire night we couldn't sleep due to bugs in the bed.If one takes a shower the next has to wait at least 20 minutes for the entire dirty water to drain down.Though all rooms are non smoking the entire block will be smoking. We paid like 122$ for a night .It is not even worth of 50$,after we returned we had the entire clothes taken to the trip washed in hot water. You never know what you catch from these kind of hotels. We took hot showers too.Not at all worth it.Really cheap ambiance.I will never recommend to anyone especially with kids.

The room in general was clean; however, there was an old container of ice cream left in the fridge. This is a place that you stay when more time is spent outside of the room than inside the room. Although advertise King size bed only had double beds. In addition, was charged extra for the third person in the room per day which was not disclosed prior to arriving. Overall would have to be desperate to stay again.

Reading the previous reviews made me nervous, but I really had no issue with this hotel. The staff seemed nice enough. The room was nice and cool in the humid air. I did feel that the location in the town was a little sketchier than I wanted, but it was close to the location I was visiting!

Nothing really to do. There's a bar next door. The sheets were clean. There was a TV, Microwave, and Mini-Fridge. Good place to sleep and keep your stuff.

They placed us in a smoking room that was absolutely uninhabitable. The manager was offensive and rude when we asked for a clean room. We are not high maintenance and we chose to go find another hotel 30 miles away rather than stay here. They of course did not refund us any money. I will never stay at this brand of hotel again.

As we are accompanied with Kids, we had to take some kids food and unfortunately the refrigrator was not in good condition to keep food stuff cool for the next day. The food got spoiled and finally we managed from outside food. The response from the staff about the issue is not professional.

reasonably priced....if all you need is a place to put your head at night, then this place is fine.

first... they never got the reservation because they ran out of fax paper. second... my room had dog hair or something all over the floor. (i have pictures) the tv was so fuzzy you couldn't watch it. no iron. ( i had to go to my business meeting in wtinkled clothing. very embarrasing. your pictures online of the bath is not what you get. second room smelled like human urine, it smelled so bad it makes you gag. it had a whole in the bathroom wall about 4" (i have pictures). bed side lamps and clocks were pluged in by extension cords which ran under the beds, which made me feel very unsafe being a fire hazord. we didn't get what we paid for. an ajoining room or beds because they didn't get our reservation. burn holes in the bed, i would guess from ciggerets.

We booked and paid online for 2 nights. Arrived to hear booking we made for 4 was only the price for 2 people in a room with 2 double beds! Even though we'd paid already with a credit card for the room for 2 nights we had to pay extra for each person (over 2 people) in room. WOULD YOU WANT to pay for a 2nd room and put kids in by themselves and/or split up a family?! It would almost have been cheaper to have booked another room than pay all the extras. Extra also for roll-away bed. Could have stayed at a much nicer place with some amenities (as we have many times before) for the $ we ended up paying! Not enough towels and bath mat removed and not replaced! No soap in room! Not enough pillows and told no extra pillows available. Slept with a towel as my pillow. Reception desk LESS than pleasant-NOT welcoming and just out for the money! This was the worst place we've ever stayed on a trip to Lancaster/Hershey!

Hotel was in a somewhat unsavory neighborhood. Exterior is old and unkept Parking lot around the back is so small that it is difficult to maneuver your car into the spaces. Rooms were unremarkable (which is okay). However, there was a small roach living in the minifridge. It crawled out of the door lining and back in before I could get it.
