Lovely hotel opposite south pier.Tram outside the door so you can park the car and forget it.Best breakfast ever and lovely evening meals with great staff.Everyone really friendly and helpful.Right on sea front so easy access to beach.A few steps but lift to all the bedrooms.
We enjoyed our weekend stay at Viking Hotel, Blackpool. The hotel accommodation was basic but comfortable. Hotel cleaning standards were good. There was a decent choice of food in the restaurant, well presented and cooked. Evening entertainment was very good and professional. The hotel is very well situated on the sea front with parking. We'd certainly recommend this hotel.
Had a fantastic few days here. Best hotel I've been to in Blackpool. Bed breakfast and evening meal. The room was fine. Clean and tidy, ok maybe a bit old fashioned, but hey, don't care. Only gripe, TV was tiny. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Help yourself at breakfast with as much as you like, cereals, cooked, juices etc. Waiters come with tea or coffee. Evening meal is help yourself again for starters and sweets but the main course is served with a great choice menu changed every day. The entertainment at night was great. Very good comedians and singers every night and a funny resident host. Absolutely loved our stay and won't be going anywhere else in Blackpool from now on.
Why can I say went for 2 nights for a short break. Check in quick and easy, food excellent, entertainment good. We met some lovely people during our short stay. You are allocated a room in the restaurant and cabaret for your stay so you know where you are sitting for your stay. Our only niggle was our room was at the kitchen side if the hotel where an extractor fan was turned on at 6 am each morning. Not bad if you don't have your bedroom window open. Would definitely go again.
Arrived on sunday 6th august, we had already been informed before hand that we were on the 4th floor which was fine with us, the room was a good size and very clean, hotel staff overall were fab, but got to mention Courtney in the restaurant, what a little diamond. so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. the talk of the town was a great place, entertainment mainly good quality. the comedy is what we enjoyed the most. food was great, fab choice of food and always piping hot which is a must for me, we have stayed at both the viking and the claremont, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either again, only thing i would say if you have mobility issues request ground or a low floor in the viking as the lifts aint very big, but overall a fab 4 night break
Have visited this hotel a number of times over the years and never been disappointed. Arrived Friday afternoon for check in with my wife and another couple. Check in was quick and reception staff friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was a decent size well decorated, clean with a double and single bed. TV, tea/coffee making facilities and bathroom with WC, sink and bath with shower. Only grumble was the fixed shower head, being tall I prefer hand held shower head. Evening dinner on both Friday and Saturday consisted of choice soups, hot and cold starters by self service. Choice of main courses, both chefs special and menu of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes served by waiting staff and drinks waiter. Breakfasts standard cereals, fruit, fruit juices breads, toast. Hot table displaying full english choices all self service. Waiting staff serve tea or coffee as desired. If you prefer say poached eggs instead of fried/scrambled them waiting staff will take special orders. Night club entertainment was excellent with resident host Buddy Lee and a comedian and singing acts. Again a grumble that we had seen the acts before on previous visits and so knew all the punch lines. Newspapers can be ordered at reception for delivery to the rooms. Finally the weather was glorious.
Spent 5 nights at the Viking for the first time and I'm sure we'll be staying again. Only went B & B, but what a breakfast! A very pleasant twin room, although for some reason, it was extremely warm, especially considering it got no sun, it may have been uncomfortable had the weather been remotely warm! Only downside was that the toilet was too close to the wall, which made things difficult for those of us of a "larger carriage", other than that, although it was a shower cubicle only, the shower worked well, with plenty of hot water and decent power. Room cleaned & towels change daily, usually over breakfast time, so very convenient. There are 3 steps to the entrance and 4 to reception, but nothing really to worry about, I was a little worried reading some of the reviews. Also a few steps down to the restaurant from the 1st floor lift, but they're only narrow & there are rails either side. We were out every evening so never went into the Talk of The Coast, but everyone at breakfast seemed delighted with it. Probably the best hotel I've stayed at in Blackpool, and I think we'll be booking there again when we return.
We live just outside Blackpool so we know Blackpool pretty well. We just fancied a night away with entertainment.we had dinner bed and breakfast including show .....ive got to say I don't know how they do it for what they charge. Not forgetting the staff they all go the extra mile..... would I go again without a second thought ....excellant
Have stayed here on many occassions and it always been a fav of ours. However this recent stay proved to be rather disappointing. We had informed hotel prior to arrival that 2 of our party had allergies and dietry requirements. On doing so we were told it was fine and to inform restaurant staff on our first meal visit. We did ...and what a carry on! Staff told us we should have informed hotel before we arrived WHICH WE HAD DONE!...they then got in a fuss not knowing what we could eat. They then told us which meal was fine for us...but after checking ingredients ourselves we found it was not safe to eat! Then we were told that for the whole week of our stay we would have to supply our own breads..cereals..and several other foods. This was a huge inconvenience for us! We then had to travel around Blackpool until we found a Sainsburys to purchase our Freefrom allergy range. It was also quite costly and very annoying as if we had known we could have taken with us to save all the running around! I must state that we visit hotels all over UK every few weeks and this is first hotel to not cater for us....very odd🤔 Aside from the food issue we also found the entertainment dismal...we knew all the jokes from the previous visit and in the week we were there only saw one good singer. Must say the Irish compere was excellent entertainment! Won't be rushing back.
Fantastic service from reception to laundry service to entertainment, restaurant. All members of staff were polite and friendly. . Fantastic value for money, food. Drinks slightly over priced at the bar. You get your own table in the Caberet room. 3rd time I've visited. Fabulous
