We were travelling on the M6 motorway and searched for somewhere to stay. We got a good deal for a double room here, and were surprised at how lovely it is. A large hotel, but it felt intimate and friendly. Large open fire in the lobby, a good bar meal, and very comfortable and quiet bedroom with a bath. We were very happy
Always enjoy a visit to the Lancaster. Lovely place with great staff and service. Handy for visiting the university and also for getting out and exploring. Never had a problem here that has not been quickly resolved..
This is our 4th time at the hotel and it didn't disappoint. Booked direct with the hotel, think you bet a better deal this way. On check in, we had been upgraded FOC to a suite room. What a great touch for my birthday it was such I nice thing to do. They had also put balloons I. The room with a birthday card 😎. Massive room with a lounge, the biggest bathroom you could have with large bath and shower. Towel robes and slippers plus the bed was massive. Food again in the restaurant for breakfast and even dinner was spot on plus the bar food was also very good. We used the spa and the outside hot tub as you do plus had a last couple of hours in the pool. In summary this hotel is a winner and we will be back next year to do it all again. Keep up the good work guys
My hubby and I stayed here for a night on our way to Cardiff for a six Nations game. We arrived about 8.30pm and were quite tired, so after checking in went straight down for dinner. The staff were all great and the food delicious. We just had one course as it was late, hubby had lamb which was perfectly cooked and he said the potatoes were the best he’s had! I had posh fish and chips which wasn’t quite what I expected, the 3 different fish fillets being unbattered but it was delicious and also healthy! Breakfast was a buffet style with loads to choose from, hubby thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered eggs Benedict - delicious! On the whole very relaxing, I’d definitely stay here again!
My friend and I visited the hotels Sandpiper Club for a Saturday afternoon spa and afternoon tea. We thoroughly enjoyed our time catching up together. We started off using the pool, jacuzzi, hot tub and steam room facilities for two hours followed by an hours worth of treatments (2 x 30 mins) and a tasty afternoon tea in Sandemans bar. What a super treat it was at a fantastic price. We were provided with fluffy towels, robes and slippers and a key fob for the lockers for the duration of our stay. We stayed in our robes most of the time which was ace. The spa facilities are fab - really clean, tidy & hot(!). We particularly liked the outdoor hot tub and the eucalyptus infused steam room, we felt really clean afterwards. All the staff we met were very friendly, approachable and professional. The therapist I had provided a wonderful 30 minute back massage and a 30 minute facial - I was that relaxed I fell asleep and had to be nudged to wake up (or was it my snoring!? Oops) The afternoon tea consisted of cheese and pickle, ham and tomato & tuna crunch sandwiches with a lovely variety of delicious cakes including a chocolate brownie, scone with cream and jam and victoria sponge, mmm yummmm. There was lots to eat - we were both full. We will return to experience the spa package again and would recommend.
We had our wedding here at the end of Novemeber. It was perfect!! the xmas decorations were up and it looked like a winter wonderland. The hotel was fantastic every step of the way with all all the organising (especially Clare the wedding co-ordinator she was amazing! so helpfully at all times). The hotel sorted all the decorations and they kept ours calm at all times. The food was also fantastic!! We had the best day and was to a very reasonable price, we would suggest Lancaster house as a wedding venue to everyone! We regularly visit the spa to which we love! We also go for meals in the bar and the food has always been lovely. The hotel rooms are to a lovely standard to. all in all 10/10 :)
This hotel has got to be the best one I’ve stayed at in all my time seeing the beauty the uk has to offer, beautiful and friendly staff, very attentive, polite and make you feel very relaxed indeed, this place seriously needs considering for a wedding venue, it’s sbsolutely perfect, ideally I’d like to be back at this hotel over Christmas just for that log fire and home feeling, room as modern spacious and classy, very luxurious indeed with lots of room, Breakfast is to die for absolutely gorgeous and the lady of Caribbean descent is an absolute gem, this lady looked after me on more than one occasion, a true professional and a real asset to this hotel..brilliant. Please do not change a thing, Very impressed indeed x
I spent two nights here with work Had two very good breakfasts and two decent meals in the evening. Posh and fish n chips is a bit small but the burger was decent. Rooms are decent and pretty comfortable
Stayed here several times on business. Writing this while staying in room 24. The hotel is a bit of a trek from my work, but has always been worth it on previous visits for the relaxing atmosphere and previously decent food. I tried to order from the bar menu tonight at 19:55 and was told the menu was reduced to sandwiches after 19:00. Surprised, I thought I’d peruse the restaurant menu and room service menu which were uninspiring. Reluctantly I made my way back to the bar and order a steak sandwich for 12.50 which came with triple cooked chips (sounded nice) salad and coleslaw. I ordered an extra side of onion rings. Now here’s the thing, the sandwich was ok but the chips were very dark and very greasy, looked like the oil was old. The tower of onion rings were so grease laden after eating one and a half I felt sick they were so greasy. I was squeezing them into a napkin to soak up some of the grease oozing out of them. I left most of it and retired to my room feeling sickly. Not until I’d given my food back to the bar man and told him to give the feedback to the chef that this was the worst meal I’ve ever eaten there and was disgusting. I squeezed an onion ring before his very eyes so he could witness first hand how revolting it was. Average sandwich, the rest? Well only an extremely complacent and lazy chef would let that leave the kitchen. Very disappointing doesn’t seem to cover it. Hotel 8/10 Chef 1/10 - needs his P45!
My friend and I went for lunch on Christmas day and stayed over till boxing day. The food was excellent and the customer service was good. I had a very nice double room, very pleasant and clean. There was a buffet on christmas day evening, but things fell a bit flat after that, there should have been some sort of entertainment at night, but there was nothing, and we just sat in the bar talking. May not go again at Christmas unless there is some entertainment.
