Lovely hotel with welcoming and accommodating staff in all areas. Food was very good which included an 8 course Lancashire taster menu on one night which was excellent quality and good value for money. Used the gym and pool and had treatments in the Spa all good facilities. Would not hesitate to go back, also good for base into the Lakes or Blackpool....
I visited for a business trip near by in Morecambe and there was only really one choice for an over night or two night stay. The price is a bit high but worth it for the facilities with the only slight criticism of some window panes need a re-paint in some rooms but other than that a nice hotel with a great meal in the restaurant and very nice bar. Parking no problem as well.
Stayed at the Lancaster House on business for one night having last stayed 18 months ago. As ever, check-in was hassle free, the staff friendly (special mention to Olivia who was a credit to the hotel) and room was spotless, comfortable and for the B&B rate very good value. I ate in the bar with colleagues - the food was good and reasonably priced (although a few more mushy peas with the fish and chips would be nice!). The Lancaster house has a wonderful feel about it - although built around 1990, and very modern looking on the outside, once inside it has the feel and look of a country house. It was very cold outside when I stayed but the open fires in the reception area and bar are a real plus and add to the overall atmosphere of the hotel. I did have a small issue with my room which I mentioned on check-out, more so that a fault could be fixed, but later that day I received a call from a very nice lady from their customer services (sorry I can't remember their name) who went above and beyond by way of apology. Very impressed.
We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well stocked with the necessary tea, coffee etc. The food was plentiful and very good. We did enjoy the large log fire in the reception area.
Great twin room on ground floor. I requested a walk in shower and this was made available to us, we don't do showers over baths! Made use of student deals for granddaughter, stayed two nights (Sat & Sun) and loved it.
Spent two nights at the hotel (Sunday to Tuesday) and whilst the hotel was cosy with log fires and spacious bedroom, the customer service let it down. We had just about forgiven the slow and somewhat abrupt service in the restaurant which was redeemed slightly by the good service provided by the breakfast and bar staff, however, our lasting impression of the hotel was of the only sentence uttered by the receptionist on check out ("that will be £xxx to pay please") before she rudely answered the telephone before our checkout transaction was completed. A big shame overall as we had one of the best nights sleep we have ever had away from our own bed and the hotel was quiet, peaceful and clean. Quality of the food in the restaurant was also disappointing and a little over priced particularly considering the long wait and poor service.
Staff are mostly good - duty manager and reception very helpful . Restaurant staff trying hard but young, undertrained and restaurant manager (female, dark hair) is rude and abrupt. Rooms and building are nice but very poor sound proofing - I could clearly hear the couple next door enjoying a romantic break! Also noise from corridors strong, if you are a light sleeper i would strongly urge don’t stay here. Restaurant is vastly overpriced - £26 for the worst steak I’ve ever had. Sold as ribeye, certainly wasn’t ribeye. Posh fish and chips was served with 6 chips! Spa area very busy with children, they are allowed in the jacuzzi also. Nowhere to sit except three loungers so it feels quite stressful rather than relaxing. It’s an ok hotel if you sleep well anywhere as a stopover on a journey but as a destination hotel or break, I wouldn’t recommend.
Stayed here for two nights. Staff super right from check in through to restaurant. Very friendly and helpful. Great location, close to centre of Lancaster. One of the best breakfasts we have had at any hotel. Would strongly recommend this hotel.
Absolutely brilliant hotel, all the staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome, the pool and outdoor hot tub is a gorgeous. We didn't have an evening meal in the restaurant as we were going out so had a bar snack of sandwiches and chips, i can definitely recommend them and at a really good price too. Not sure if the deal is on all the time but there was an offer of a late check out room if you booked a Sunday lunch, had we not have had plans for Sunday i would have booked as judging by the breakfast i am sure we would not have been disappointed. The room was modern, spotlessly clean and spacious. I will definitely be visiting again.
Went to Lancaster house for a special event, which certainly turned it into a special experience. Everyone was so lovely and really did their best to make our stay amazing. Everything (room, evening meal and spa day) was just perfect. Thank you, we can't wait to return.
