I have been to this hotel numerous times for conferences on the North shore. From the outside it looks like a very bland building. Has a large car park to park vehicles. Once inside you receive a warm welcome. When you get the lift to go to your floor you now have to put the keycard in the lift to get to your floor, which is a good security feature. I had a lovely room, very clean and modern, a massive flat screen television with choice of channels. Had 2 large twin beds very comfortable. Loads of plug sockets good for my CPAP machine. Had a ironing board and iron, kettle with range of brew facilites, 2 chairs, lots of lighting and a great sea view. Had a powerful shower in the bathroom which takes a while to warm up and get used to, lots of free toiltries to use, including shower gell, shampoo ect and loads of fluffy towels. Also a lovely sea view from my room. Breakfast is brilliant a range of yogurhts, fruits ect and cereals, a large choice of fruit juices including a lovely banana and strawberry smoothie, also some continental breakfast things, salami, ham, cheese ect and salad. Then into the cooked breakfast options including bacon, lovely pork sausages, lovely haggis, bury black pudding, baked beans, hash browns, fresh cooked tomatoes which looked undercooked, fried eggs nice and runny, and scambled eggs. A shame no mushrooms. Also you could order omelettes or pancakes but no kippers. Tea and coffee served to your table along with toast and pastries which you could get, a amazing and filling breakfast. Evening meals were also great, lovely friendly and generous service. Great friendly staff very helpful, And generally just very nice and genuine people.
Booked a room to attend a dinner dance on a Saturday night, The booking in was better that last time I was here quick and easy, The room was not one which had been updated but was still ok, a very big bed (the wife could get away from me in it). The meal for the dinner dance was hot and very well served and we had a great night. The breakfast had everything you could want and was hot. The small swimming pool was ok as was the stream and sauna rooms. Would recommend anyone thinking of booking this hotel to do so.
Stayed here for Valentine’s Day with my partner in a Suite and had a lovely time. We arrived quite handy and were able to park easily in the huge car park as there is plenty of space. We went to reception and were told that our room wasn’t quite ready but that we would receive a text when our room was ready. This was fine as it was only 1:30ish. We ventured off around the seafront and down by the tower before heading back and asking if our room was ready. This was about 2:30 and the room was actually ready though we hadn’t received a text as we were told we would. Still it was nice to be able to get in half an hour early. We unpacked and relaxed in the gorgeous suite which has recently been refurbished to a very good standard, definitely worth the extra money even for just the sea view. The room benefitted from better amenities such as two bathrooms and a huge dining table. We decided to go for a coffee in the lounge before collecting our luggage from the car. The coffees were nice enough though the service lacked a little as did the actual lounge which was a little run down. Last time we visited here, there was ta let service in the lounge but not now. We retuned back to our room and relaxed before noticing that we hadn’t recieved a fan as requested by my partner on check-in. He has tinnitus and can only really sleep with the noise of air-con/fan or something similar. As the hotel has no air-con he requested a fan. When this didn’t arrive he phoned reception several times and on the fourth time of sitting until the phone ‘rang out’ someone finally answered and then the fan wa a brought to the room straight away. We used the spa facilities which again were very tired and not the cleanest we’ve seen in hotels. It been refurbished since mid-80’s by the looks of it. The changing room was small and smelly, the pool was small and full. The sauna and steam room were ok but we didn’t stay long round here as it wasn’t very relaxing. Staff members here were very nice and friendly as across the whole hotel. Nice that’s the hotel don’t charge to use these facilities too. Later we showered etc before heading down for our meal in the restaurant. The restaurant had a Valentine’s Day set meal which was excellent quality and value. We left absolutely stuffed and staff were very attentive and friendly throughout. We could not fault the food or service at all. We had a great night sleep in the hotel and the bed was very comfortable. Some sound could be heard in the corridor as people returned to their rooms and doors banged etc as the bedroom had a separate door to the corridor which allowed noise to travel within the bedroom quite easily. After drinking in Blackpool the night previous we had decided to order breakfast to the room on our morning of departure. It arrived on time and was ok. Not the best hotel breakfast but ok seeing as it was included in the deal we had when we booked. We knew we just had to pay tray charge. Later we checked out using ‘Express Check-Out’ and paid for our parking before leaving the hotel and Blackpool. On our drive home my partner received our bill to discover that for the breakfast we had to our room we were charged £5 service charge and £6 tray charge meaning £11pound to have the breakfast brought to our room. This wasn’t how it was made to sound in the hotel information we received. £11 for rolling a tray on a cart from the lift to our room seems pretty excessive even for hotel standards. We stay in hotels (including Hilton Hotels) very regularly and this is THE MOST expensive charge for food to a room we have ever had! All in all a great stay let down by some service in parts and excessive charges.
First view of the hotel at all angles your greeted with an abandoned hotel left to ruin.A room that cost over £200 for 4people for 1 night, we were expecting to be outstanding. But NO! it was in much need of repair/maintenance the bunk bed paint was all scratched away windows wouldnt open and were so filthy you could bearly see out. A mini-bar fridge? NO someone had stolen it from our hotel room and we realised around 11pm but it was too late due to baby sleeping. Recently recieved a new phone so lost all photos but have a one photo from the iPad. Not what you would expect from a Hilton!!!!!!!!! Extremely annoyed and disappointed at this hotel, it needs improvements on the rooms
I stayed here for a conference earlier in the month. The conference organisers provided 2 nights and my partner and I paid fro an extra third night. The first two nights we were in a room on the 3rd floor. The room was terrible! The décor was dated and the room was grubby. The bed uncomfortable and the furniture damaged - had we not been obliged to stay there for the conference I would have walked out! However we were told that for the night we were paying for ourselves we could be moved to one of the hotel's refurbished rooms. (The hotel has 7 floors and only the rooms on the 6th and 7th floors have been refurbished) It was light walking into a totally different hotel!!! The refurbished rooms (which are the rooms shown on the photographs on the hotel website) are lovely. Very spacious, great beds, clean and sleek and finished to a very high standard. If you are booked here insist on having a room on the 6th or 7th floor otherwise don't stay! On the up side the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was acceptable.
This is the third time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I won’t be back. I feel that the hotel is getting by on its name rather than its quality. I had a good deal but would have been very disappointed if I’d paid any more money. I booked a family room, expecting it to have a double bed and a single bed. Instead of the single bed were bunk beds. They were ancient and small and didn’t look safe to sleep in. The room is tired and dated and is in desperate need of a makeover. The walls seemed very thin, or we had very noisy neighbours at early hours of the morning. I booked my stay back in July of last year when the car park was £5 a day. It’s since gone up to £7 but I wasn’t notified of this until I arrived. When I paid my fee at the machine it was out of change so it cost me £17 for 2 days parking - and what really annoyed me was that the barrier was open when we left so we didn’t have to pay at all. So check the barrier before leaving. The hotel is in a good seafront location with a tram stop nearby. Breakfast was good but not worth the money if it wasn’t already included in the room price.
My niece was auditioning at the local college & flying in from Ireland so I used my Hilton Honors points to book a room for our stay. The twin family was room was spacious, clean and overlooked the ‘city’ Nice & quiet. The breakfast was typical hotel fare, a good choice of continental/English/hot or cold. The wait staff was a tad slow, but the poached eggs were worth the wait. Reception staff was friendly & helpful. The Gym (24 hour access) was well appointed & the pool, sauna & steam room were all very clean. If I ever ‘had’ to stay in Blackpool again, The Hilton would be my only choice!
Not what to expect for a Hilton hotel, room needs modifications bathroom was very small and in need of a new shower! The first room they tried to give us was not up to scratch with a wafer thin mattress but they did sort this out for us! Kids menu very very limited if you have kids disappointed kids don’t eat free in the lounge where there’s a better choice of meals for the adults so your only option is carvery from the restaurant! Very disappointed. Staff where very helpful in the restaurant for my daughters birthday thank you! But the heating was cranked up to 100 degrees feels like your cooking the customers! Oh yes the big draught coming under the door I do believe this hotel needs a good bit of modification! I think the cost there asking is a bit much for what you get! Staff where helpful so much as they can do!
This is by far the best hotel ever. The hotel staff catered for allergy’s and even sent the cook to the shop to get some dairy free sausages. The staff were very friendly as well. The only downside was that you have to have a key card to use the lift to get to the room floors. But apart from that, it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
I stay, on average, in about one hotel per week. The Hilton Blackpool hotel is fairly reflective of the chain in so much as the rooms are dated and the facilities are below par. Tvs are blocked from using additional inputs such as Xbox or fire sticks etc and they can’t even use the excuse that they want you to pay for additional tv services as the function doesn’t work. I chose to stay here due to the gym and pool and the fact that I had a gift card to pay for food and drink as a result of previous poor service at another Hilton hotel. Fair to say I will stick to other more forward thinking chains and independent hotels from now on. Hilton need to buck up their ideas and move with the times
