We stayed at the Hilton Blackpool promenade hotel for the weekend recently. On arrival there was plenty of car parking spaces, parking was also free for residents. Checking in was swift, staff were very pleasant. Sadly once we got into our room the smile quickly slid from my face. The room was on the 2nd floor, the room was very tired and tatty looking. The furniture was scruffy the bed was rock hard, the bathroom looked quite grubby. On opening the window for fresh air the noise outside was horrendous the noise sounded like generators humming and buzzing but really loud. We complained straight away saying it was not acceptable, we were told by staff that the hotel was fully booked and there was no more rooms we said we were willing to pay a little extra for another more suitable room. Staff finally rang back saying they had found us another room on the 6th floor, we had to pay £60 extra to be moved. The new room was freshly decorated with new furniture in, the bathroom was spotless and new. The bed was comfortable. On opening the window we could still here the generators outside but they weren't as loud as they were on the 2nd floor. We sat in the hotel bar and had a bar meal. Food and drinks came quickly, the bar food was delicious. Swimming pool was a basic hotel pool nothing special. It's a long walk into the town centre but there are frequent trams to hop onto. All in all the hotel was not that special at all considering it's a Hilton and it also felt very greedy to charge us £60 extra on top of the £200+ we had already paid considering the room was very unsuitable and very noisy.
Stayed for one night in order to see Pet Shop Boys at Blackpool Winter Gardens. Great welcome. Room lovely. Great sea view. Breakfast great - full cooked breakfast buffet ( very well cooked ! ) Cereals, breads, pastries etc. Tea and coffee. All staff are wonderful and helpful. Can't do enough for you ! Will stay again.
Exc hotel for a short break. Hotel needs refurbishment. Staff couldn't be more helpful especially in the restaurant Stayed in king room with side sea view room. Bathroom needed updating. Bed very comfortable.
Parked up in the large car-park no problem ( £5.00) per day altho we did not pay as reception validated our tickets on departure. Not sure if they do this for everyone. The room contained a huge king sized bed plus a fridge,no air con tho, plus desk and wardrobe. The bathroom was good size but the shower a little tricky to get temperature right. The breakfast was excellent plenty of variety and always looked fresh. Our only minor niggle was the toilet paper and the tissues in the bathroom were on the hard side surely they could afford a few more pennies to supply a good quality tissue.
Stayed here for a few nights in a family room. Was clean enough, but very dated. Not what I would expect from a Hilton. Away from the main peers, so quieter. A few local junk food places round the hotel.
First class and most friendly stay once again at this iconic Hotel with it's fabulous sea views and wonderful staff. Excellent Restaurant again with fantastic sea views superb cuisine and lovely staff. A modern day 'Grand Hotel'
No aircon so had to leave window open very nosie, room abit tired and last year we got Free News papers , slippers , robes this year nothing .Under the toilet seat was not clean and they empty the bin on the 2nd day some i had to use a bag to put my rubbish i .
Stayed here every year the last few years, this hotel has slowly gone downhill. Room I had was on the 7th floor one yet to be refurbished. Room looked out over the seafront and the sea but was a lost cause as the windows were that dirty it was just a hazed view. Room very tired looking carpet stained bed was good though but the bathroom very poor. The bath/shower had no shower curtain so taking a shower meant a flooded bathroom floor. It's been a very hot weekend and no air con in the rooms is a killer. The windows only open a tiny amount which let no air in at all. Breakfast was ok, bacon and sausage not the best quality but the fruit and juices very nice. The staff seem ok, few far better than others! Overall the prices this hotel charge are old school Hilton prices when the brand was very good and top notch, seems the whole Hilton brand is in decline and the Hilton Blackpool is the worse Hilton I've stayed in. Think next time it will have to be another hotel as I believe you don't get what you pay for here. Also just to add the prices for drinks n the bar are an absolute rip off! There's no need to charge the guests the price they do. Hate being ripped off.
What an amazing staff you have. Arrival process was excellent, so was breakfast. Staff makes you feel at home. Room cleaniness was exquisitely polished but bathroom tiles could have been better when I arrived.
I stay in many Hiltons and I'm afraid the hotel could do with a bit of TLC. They are slowly doing a refurbishment, but this is being stretched over a few years by the looks of it. A new Hampton Inn is soon to be built locally and the Hilton needs to up its game a bit otherwise many will opt for the new Hampton when it gets built.
