We visited the day before new years eve and the hotel seemed quite busy. Staff were welcoming and attentive and the lobby was beautifully kept. Our room was gorgeous. There was only two of us but there was an extra little section for kids with bunk beds, tv's, PlayStation and games which was really cool and I can imagine kids would love it. Bed was huge! Bathroom was lovely and the decor is nice. Bar staff were great and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend!
Second time staying here, and it is definitely going to be my go to place whenever I visit Blackpool! Same as I said before, breakfast was great, and always stocked, check in was quick and easy, as well as arranging our wrist bands for the fare. However, DVD player in our room was jammed. Went to let them know, and as we went back to our room, the staff sent to fix it knocked just after the door closed. DVD player was replaced by a Blu-ray, even though the original one was fixed. Only thing I can say was annoying, is the fact that they don't advertise having Blu-ray players, but that's just a nit pick.
Just returned from a great weekend at the Big Blue. Hotel is spotless, rooms well equipped and staff work really hard to make your stay perfect. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice for everyone. We had a meal in the restuarant on our first night included and the food was really delicious. The set menu is good value but there is an a la carte menu if you wish. Our room faced the Big Roller coaster but as the pleasure beach was closed it wasn't a problem but not sure what it would be like in the season.
Never stayed in Blackpool before, so, was somewhat hesitant about this hotel, however, really impressed by the size of the room, staff, and breakfast. Overall, really impressed, and would defiantly stay here again.
We just arrived HOME from an after Christmas break. 2 adults and 2 children 13 and 11. On arrival we were greeted warmly. Our room was spotless. The kids had bump beds with consoles. Food was buffet style and of very good quality. We bought Merlin passes and visited all the venues. Jumped a tram to Fleetwood market. Very good market. Parking on site. Everything is close by. We went to the Sand castles water park. The Tower. Sealife. Madam Tussards. Can't fault the Hotel or staff. Always someone available. Weather was bad. We had a Brilliant break and will return to this Hotel. In the summer months when all the main attractions are open.
Admittedly not a great competition but having tried a few I think this is best option in Blackpool if you want decent clean rooms and facilities. Good size twin room with OK bathroom. Breakfast was fine although more fruit options would be nice. Staff friendly. Tried Hilton last time and this is miles better in terms of quality and environment.
We stayed at the Big Blue in October to see the illuminations with our two children, aged 2 and 4- we arrived around 7pm and check-in was fast enough and the staff helpful. The room was comfortable, modern and clean - the kids loved the bunk beds and having their own TV. The room backed onto the Big One so they loved hearing it whoosh past in the morning. Also worth noting that the hotel has its own access to the Pleasure Beach - we booked our tickets with the hotel room. We didn’t eat our evening meal at the hotel but we did eat breakfast - we had to wait around 15 minutes to be seated which was irritating but there was plenty of room to sit on comfortable chairs while waiting. When finally seated breakfast was very nice. There is car parking available, albeit not a vast car park. Do note that parking is provided until 1pm on the day of check out with codes to exit so if you’re planning on staying the day be prepared to move your vehicle elsewhere. We do believe this is probably the best hotel in Blackpool for families and we’ll certainly be back.
Another return visit for us. We love this hotel. Room was fabulous and great in size. Staff can’t do enough for you. Service in the restaurant was really slow and poor which is quite unusual based on past visits. Not sure if they were just having an off night. Did notice a lot of new faces though. Looking forward to next visit
V v nice hotel, would fit into any major city, by far the classiest in the area. Staff lovely, very clean, rooms fab, best breakfast buffet ever, lovely warm welcome on reception and in restaurant. Well worth the money for fun in Blackpool with a classy base to stay, right in the heart of the action.
A lovely stay with the best rooms. Always a pleasure staying here. Staff were great however in the restaurant we felt a little neglected - empty glasses at dinner and plates weren’t cleared at breakfast - maybe it was as we were in the corner but still we felt it could have been more attentive. It didn’t take away from the good experience overall though and I would love to return.
