The rooms are wonderful, the food is very good and the staff are friendly. I stayed here last week and found I liked everything about it. It was near to local transport sites, we were able to access all we wanted easily, it was a little outside the main drag but I thought of that as a positive. Our room was quiet, we didn't hear any of the normal voices in the corridor or slamming doors. I would go back again.
What an excellent hotel. Very family friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and bed very comfy. I had the opportunity to speak to one of the ladies that looked after the rooms and am impressed with the cleaning regime the Hotel follows. The brekkie was brilliant and the evening meal we had in the restaurant was excellent as were the staff who looked after us. The gang on reception were also brilliant, very friendly (not following a script) and very knowledgeable about Blackpool. I would absolutely recommend the Big Blue whether you have children or not.
The hotel is lovely but I wouldn't call it boutique and my twin room was akin to a premier inn. Very clean too. However what really makes this place special is the staff. A bright and cheery welcome by reception who seemed genuinely concerned to make our stay the best it could possibly be. Then there's the bar and restaurant staff. They went out of their way to make my six year old feel welcome and valued and their attention to detail was second to none. Friendly whilst professional. I also felt well tended too and that nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and definitely be back.
This Hotel is a very good family hotel. We parked in the hotel car park from reaching blackpool we just had to register the car until check in which was brilliant it's free parking until 1 pm the next day . We got a family tram pass £11 for 24 hours which is stress free. Tram stop 2 min walk away . The room at this hotel was spacious and the kids aged 5 & 7 loved the snakes and ladders & PlayStation. Good stash of hot drinks milk biscuits. The only thing I could of wished for was a socket to plug my hair straighteners in by the mirror. Breakfast was very good nicely cooked and a variety of things to choose from. Great coffee machine . Staff very nice !!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to this hotel will highly recommend 😊 Thanks all 👏🏻
We decided to have a few days up north. Picked a very windy and rainy days. We has our usual deluxe king size room. We were given a choice of rooms. Ground floor facing the pleasure beach. Ready when we arrived 1.30. We were offered morning newspaper at a charge. We needed a mattresses topper, extra pillows. Staff well trained in customer service. Cleaning team done an excellent job. Breakfast team need to read they customers better. We don't all want to sit with screaming children for my breakfast Thursday am entrance to pleasure beach, free.cheaper price wrist band for rides. Parking easy plenty of spaces. Location close to trams and buses. Near to south blackpool station. This is second time,we've stayed this year. Recommended to all for a quite stay. Restaurant a little expensive, menu not to everyone taste.
Pros: Professional and helpful staff, obviously well-trained to help tourists and their many, many questions. Check in/out was a breeze - both done in under five minutes. Hotel was clean and well looked after, with a tidy front reception area and clean halls. Of the hotels that we saw during our stay in Blackpool, the Big Blue was the one that looked and acted most like a resort hotel. Less than five minutes to the Blackpool Pleasure Beach train station (you can see the hotel as soon as you arrive at the station) and that was a major benefit. Room was decently clean and properly made up, and was of a standard design. Cons: It's a creaky hotel: you can hear people traversing the halls/in the rooms above you and beside you. Our suite was a 'family suite', which was billed as a larger room with two bedrooms, but it absolutely was not - it is a regular room where the front closet has been hollowed out and two five foot bunk-beds are installed - not usable by an adult at all. Did not meet my expectations there. Bed mattress was horrible - old, hard and sunken in the middle, and my sleep was not good for the evening as a result. Mandatory breakfast was pretty okay: standard English breakfast stuff with a small assortment of pastries and cold cereals. Nothing exciting and not worth £10 in my opinion, but it was plentiful.
The hotel is smack bang next door to the pleasure beach and very easy to find. We arrived slightly early but a room was ready. - Deluxe Double with a view over looking the theme park. Must have spent the best part of an hour sat watching the rides go round! Booked room as part of a deal with tickets for the "Hot ice" show which was excellent and well worth the visit. The room was clean and tidy and well laid out with small seating area. The electric fire gave it a cosy feel. Well stocked with tea/coffee etc and the bathroom had plenty of choice of supplies also. Drinks in the bar were a bit expensive but that's hotels for you. Breakfast was busy and there was a wait for tables, no more than 5-10 minutes though so that was ok. The one criticism we could have is over the layout of the breakfast servery. All the hot stuff was first and then the continental/ cereals seemed to be hidden at the end. Would return again without question.
Had a brilliant 4days at the big blue hotel next to fairground, got a upgrade to a bigger room free of charge.rooms were clean and spacious and cleaned every day, staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast was amazing,a long walk to tower but a nice walk or you could take the tram from outside hotel.will recommend this hotel especially for families too, will definitely be staying at this hotel again
Went to Blackpool this week for two nights with my Mum as it is coming up for her birthday so decided a wee trip to Blackpool would be good. I had requested a room with a park view when booking but unfortunately there wasn't one left but the room we stayed in was really nice, I also ordered a teddy bear as a surprise for my Mum which she loved when she saw it sitting on the bed. On the first night we stayed in the hotel as the weather was a bit wilder than usual and we watched a dvd however the dvd player in the room wasn't working properly but the staff were really good in getting this fixed and made sure we got to watch our movie even though half way through we had a group of people trying to get in our room but eventually they realised after a few tries of the key card that they were on the wrong floor. The next night after we went to bed we were woken up by someone knocking on our door asking for someone who wasn't in our room they kept knocking so i called reception but the person had left when someone from reception arrived, went back to bed and again the same person was knocking at the door, again after i called reception the person had left but the staff were really good and apologetic for the disturbance even though it wasn't their fault. Breakfast was really nice as well, I really liked the sitting area with the branch lights.
We had a deluxe family room with bunk bed and had a good view of the pleasure beach, room 130 on the ground floor. Room was very clean, spacious and comfortable, good size tv and the kids bunks have a separate area, each with their own Tv so you can relax without being on top of each other and they can watch their own channels. Breakfast was excellent, hot and cold buffet which was constantly restocked. Room cost £230 for the night which included breakfast and 1 day pleasure beach wristband for all 4 of my family, was a great deal though this was a Sunday night. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay here again
