Stayed at the Landing for our Anniversary. The staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs. Would stay there again.

The hotel itself is ok, very comfortable beds and beautiful lake view; but the noises from upstairs: Walking, showering, TV... The worst part, the check out time is 11: 00 AM, and the house keeper knocked your door and calling you to remind you, even you were just 15 minutes late.

They had 2 Events in the days we were there and it made for some noisy neighbors

Hotel staff was great. Room was clean and very comfortable.

The Landing is an excellent property with an excellent location and the staff was attentive but not intrusive. The premium room we had was was very nice with many exceptional amenities. The blemish on our 25th aniversary stay was the room location. Our balcony was located directly over what appeared to be the garbage collection point as well as materials receiving. Not only was it noisy with staff/vehicles coming and going, but the fly problem was bothersome. We only stayed one night, but by the time we left the room the next morning, there were many, many flies buzzing us in the room. In hindsight I don't think they should even rent this room, muchless for full premium price. In the end, I would not hesitate to stay there again contingent on not staying anywhere near this area. Based on our observation, this would include rooms 3206 thru 3210 and maybe the rooms directly above these on the 3rd floor.

The hotel is very clean, location is amazing, but over prices

This hotel is away from the main strip of South Lake where the gondola for Heavenly and the casinos are (but within walking distance). My wife and I prefer it like this. The location is perfect! The hotel is literally across the street from the lake. Rooms are quaint. Clean and modern, but slightly smaller. Staff is excellent and you MUST eat at Jimmy's.

I'd never been to tahoe before and thus, had no expectation. Furthermore, I'd never heard of the landing resort outside of what I was able to research. Reviews did not do this place justice. The rooms are quite impressive. Light up fixtures in the restrooms and heated rest room floors were great. The porch was a good size, and the functional fire place was a great addition. I would recommend this place to anybody. The staff are there to help but not at all imposing.

I was pleasantly surprised! I loved everything about it

I am so glad that we landed at the Landing. Located only a few feet from a private beach, the landing has it all. A great staff, comfortable rooms and a great resort feel. There is a complimentary shuttle, the staff know the area, and their facilities are top notch.

Loved the hotel. The bathroom was nicer than some 5 stars I've stayed in. We had a lake view on the first floor so we could walk out, cross the small street, and get to the beach. It had a nice little patio area outside of our door to enjoy (it was great for people watching on fourth of July weekend!). The valet parking was sort of annoying to have to use when we first got there, but eventually I found it helpful and they were very pleasant to deal with. The location was great and very close to the Heavenly shops and Gondola. Now for the one bad experience: (not so much the hotel, but the on-site restaurant) We had reservations at Jimmy's, their upscale restaurant with their "celebrity chef". After the staff talked it up so much, we were excited to try it. Being that we were there on our honeymoon, we were looking forward to get dressed up and have a nice meal. When we arrive for our reservation, the hostess tells us we are sitting outside. We were dressed up nicely and it was windy outside and more important, we wanted privacy. Outside was crazy busy because of the fireworks that night (July 4th if you haven't caught on). The hostess tells me "everything inside is double booked so we need to seat you outside (mind you, at this point there is not a single table that is taken inside). But not looking to argue, we give in and go outside. She sits us directly next to the only other people outside on their huge patio (4 guys with swim trunks on just there for the bar.. nothing wrong with that, just not who we wanted to sit by for our "fancy meal"). At this point, I was annoyed and got our waitress to move us to a table inside. The waitress was extremely kind and helpful so at least there was that. I would like to consider myself a foodie or at least a foodie in the making. I love all types of food and have eating in several countries from 5 star to vendors on the street. The meal at Jimmy's was terrible. The word "small" in their "small plates" section of the menu was an understatement. $11 for two quartered slices of peach with a little honey on top?? It was tasty but it was a rip off. Nothing they brought out blew us away... all mediocre... some just bad. The portions were tiny and overpriced. All in all, it just had a very pretentious feel to it. "here's our fancy tiny portions that are so original and delectable that we'll charge you over twice what it's worth". Personally I think their head "celebrity" chef (as they call her), needs to come out of the clouds. I understand fine dining. I've had tiny portions of expensive food several times before. But believe me, the food was so worth it that you couldn't dream of complaining.. that's not the case with Jimmy's. The Fire roasted chicken (large plate) was mediocre and didn't appear to be fire roasted and definitely didn't have the flavor. I've had better at Boston Market! The potatoes were seasoned well but overcooked. More about the small plates: The Kalamata Toast was a single piece of toast with some decent tasting pulled lamb on it. one piece of toast: $11. The "wood roasted chicken wings" again, did not seem wood roasted at all. They tasted like wings that had been freezer burned then baked in an oven.

This is a brand new hotel opened in December 2013. The attention to detail is impressive. Great staff, great location, great room. Fine dining at Jimmy's restaurant on property. Free wine tasting, excellent food. Upscale dining and accommodation, very rare in south lake Tahoe. If you are one of those people who do not like casino environment and cigarette smoke, and looking for a upscale place to stay, this is the place to stay. This is a family owned hotel and I will definitely go back.

Thank you for understanding about our events. Yes we have events on property almost all weekends and in the summer time each day. Please feel to contact the front desk to inquire before arrival if we are hosting any events.
