The hotel is right off the 395, set back a bit. From the outside it looked ok, but the rooms are very dated. First, you have no control of the Air conditioner. It's set at a certain temp and that's what you get. Maybe it was only our room but I doubt it. There were smoking/trash bins right by the stairs that had not been emptied in a while and were quite smelly since it was in the 90's in the area. The room hadn't been updated/upgraded since the 70's or 80's except for the TV which was nice. WiFi was good. Our shower/tub had a large crack in it on the back wall, it looked like someone tried to do a repair but it didn't work. During the night the room got warm so we tried opening a window, but there was a terrible garbage smell outside so we just had to make do. Disappointed that this was a Quality Inn. Definitely would not stay there again.

Waited 15 minutes for someone to appear at front desk to check in at 9:15 p.m. Apparently, they were working with another guest in a room??! We were given two rooms that were already occupied by sleeping families!!!! Thank God they were understanding and didn't become defensive!!! Mascara tube found in one bed, loud fan would not turn off, lamps didn't work, safety latch smashed out of door frame, filthy grounds outside and hard boiled eggs/cold cereal for breakfast. Pool was dirty and employees parked in loading zone in front of entrance (black Cadillac). Asked for partial refund, for inconvenience and unpleasant experience of walking into occupied rooms but was told they couldn't do anything because I prepaid!!! Stay away from this place, you'd be happier driving down the road to Carson City!!!

We were exploring the area for possible retirement future. . November was cool and comfortable. The employee's were super helpful and informative about the town and area. .

went to tahoe for a familly trip, stay here for a day , will stay here again if we come to this way !!!!!!!!!

Cheap price, great location, nice accessibility. What else could you ask for in a small town motel

Nice hotel! Great Experience. Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

This hotel is a great value. There isn't too much going on in the area, but if you need a safe, clean place to stay during your travels this place is perfect.

First time we stayed here. Friendly folks, quiet room away from traffic, lovely park right across the street, and room was immaculate.

Breakfast bar was great, lots of food and variety.

Friendly, and very helpful. It was a quiet hotel; not the most scenic, although there was a park behind the hotel where children could run and stretch their legs if need be. It was difficult to find; the gps told me to turn the other direction, but had I stayed on 395, I would've seen the sign. The breakfast was adequate though I've had better in other 3 star hotels. The room was clean--no worries there. I think it was a bit pricey for wintertime; in the summer you can use the pool, but it was an outdoor pool, obviously NOT in the winter, and no hot tub to speak of. If there was a workout room, I didn't know about it--so if those things don't bother you and you need a quiet place to stay, this would work for you.

The rooms were pretty good for the price, but the breakfast option was terrible.

It was not easy to find the hotel because we did not update the map in our GPS machine. It was a pleasant surprise to see such a quiet and clean hotel. It was 30 minutes drive to South Lake Tahoe. Reasonable price comparing to hotels in the Lake Tahoe Resort.

rooms are spaciou, staff very nice, great breafast... waffle mixer and maker, eggs ...

The Good: The room was very spacious and the heater worked great (which was wonderful because Tahoe was freezing while we were there). The location was great - the drive to South Lake is beautiful and we were able to go to Carson City as well since it was so close. For the price it was a great experience - we were able to extend our trip an extra day due to how much we saved by not staying in South Lake. The Bad: There were no clean towels when we got in so we used pool towels which smelt like chlorine and the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. The coffee maker was unusable because it wasn't fully clean and the breakfast was definitely lacking. However, there is a well known coffee shop right down the street so it worked out for us. Personally I don't sweat the small stuff so over all the experience was wonderful and I would definitely stay there again. But if you need perfection in a hotel I would recommend another choice.

My room was quite, clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

This is the second time I have stayed there for project work in the area. I am not on an expense account so economics are important. I find it very well meets my needs for an excellent price. It's close to Satello's which is a great dining establishment.

We were not given keys, which I thought was creepy. The heater in the room did not work. A default alarm woke us up at 7am. If you have a trip planned to kirkwood, do yourself a favor, don't stay here.

Convenient location near great restaurants. Staff is outstanding . I would highly recommend this hotel.

Picked it based on location. Good Value. Continental breakfast was minimal compared to others but the price compensated. Good restaurants in the area[but too much food]. Satello's, TJ's at the hotel next to Sharkey's, Danny's right next to hotel had an excellent eggs bennedict. Good salad bar and so so Philly cheese. Had a problem with the sink and it was repaired within an hour

Minden is a cute little town and the Best Western is a great place to stay when there. It's a bit outside of the city center which is the only reason I rated it slightly lower on location (I was on foot for part of this trip as I was sharing with others in the party) but the pool was nice and the rooms are very clean and well taken care of.
