Pros: - cozy lodge suitable for small family with enough kitchen amenities. - surrounded scenery is beautiful and peaceful. Cons: - non-user friendly toilet shower, hard to open the water. - room key card doesnot work properly, have to change for the next day. - jaccuzzi is not working.
We like this location. The resort is well kept. However the furniture upgrade that was done lately is not designed for older folks like us. The only place to sit was at the bistro (high) table and stools. I had to bring in the patio chairs for a comfortable place to sit. The bed also went from queen size to full size. Again not older couple friendly. Change back the furniture as it was and the place would be great.
I was given the wrong timeframe for my check-in time on the phone and when I arrived, Allen, the manager, happened to be there. I was in a bind because I had some work calls to make and he quickly found new accommodations for me. He has a terrific personality, is professional and personable and talks to the staff with the utmost respect. I was very impressed. He also gave me some dinner suggestions, since I didn't know the area. He made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable.
We stayed at North Lake Lodges & Villas in Incline Village. The room was tired looking (old carpet, bed, couch), but had a small equipped kitchen which was very nice to have, so that we could make breakfast before going out for the day. The room also had a stone fireplace which made it cozy. The heater worked nicely. There was a hot tub on property but it didn't look very clean, so we didn't use it. Service was friendly but not very helpful. Because the front desk team is located in Sparks, Nevada (remote video check in), we had a couple of problems during our stay. On the first night, we couldn't get the fireplace to work. We were assured someone would come, but they never did. Then, when we were going to bed, we discovered that there were no sheets or blankets for the pull-out couch (there were 3 of us with a queen bed and pull out couch, clearly stated on our reservation). Since it was after 5 pm, no one could help us even though we called, as the staff had gone home. One of us had to sleep on the couch with beach towels we had in the car. The next day, we called again. The housekeeping staff brought over sheets and I kid you not, 8 pillowcases (for what?) but no blankets. Again, we did not discover this until the evening as we had gone out for the day. Again, we had to supplement with beach towels we had. The bed was also very uncomfortable to sleep and we woke up stiff and sore. Though we like the location we would not stay here again.
The North Lake Lodges & Villas is what used to be the Lakeside Tennis & Ski Resort. It is a great central location in Incline Village and we had an amazing view. The villas could use some updating, but at the price it was a good deal.
Here's my note about our stay: tiny, dark, lower level room, no propane in BBQ tank, stained carpet, jacuzzi heater directly outside front door making noise all night, uncomfortable murphy bed that takes up entire living room, no electrical plugs in kitchen, ceiling lights inoperable, dirty windows, unmaintained plastic grass outdoor deck, stove fan blows instead of sucks, noisy fridge right next to bed, no human presence - when checking in the person on the phone told us to leave all concierge materials to cut costs, and last, but not least, and certainly emblematic of this "Villa" is that they cut the kitchen sponges in half, IN HALF, to save about 23 cents. Never again!!!!
Carpet filthy & torn, need replacing ASAP! Heavy traffic stains, no excuse! Where is the membership money going! WILL NOT RETURN. Better off at Residence Inn, or Hampton inn. Not exaggerating cgeck other locations or you'll be sorry!!!
This resort is one of our home timeshares. We'd never stayed at this one before, so we booked a week and reserved a three-bedroom (called the Villas) since we had family coming up to stay with us. It is nestled in the trees in Incline Village, just a few miles from the beaches. There are not many of these units, so we were so glad to have gotten one. The three bedroom is actually an upstairs unit with one bedroom (and a REALLY lovely jacuzzi tub upstairs off the bedroom), and a downstairs unit with one bedroom and a hide-a-bed in the living room. The units are lovely, with kitchens and balconies that look onto a lovely wooded little yard. As has been mentioned, there is no live person at the resort. The main office is in Sparks, Nevada, about an hour away from Lake Tahoe. You check in and receive your keys via a video-chat and computer. There is housekeeping onsite and maintenance is available if something goes wrong at the units. My complaint with this way of operating the business is that you lose the personal touch. Our downstairs bathroom was not as clean as it could have been - the walls were dirty and needed wiping down. We had a broken screen that I addressed with the video-chat desk clerk ,and came back at the end of the day with the screen still broken. I put in a second request, and it was finally fixed the next day. With the exception of the one bathroom, the units were pretty clean, but are getting very shabby. The carpets are very frayed and need to be replaced, and I kept stepping on carpet tacks. The leather couches in the units are very worn. It's very disappointing, since we pay upkeep fees every year, and they really aren't being "kept up". A little TLC would do wonders for this resort, and an on-site supervisor to ensure this resort is properly maintained.
We stayed at this place as a timeshare exchange for 5 days. We came a day late, which was no problem for check in, received a downstairs lovely condo for our time there. The check in process is interesting, since there is no live person in the resort, but rather a TV monitor that connects you to a lobby somewhere. It was never difficult to get a hold of someone to get help form, and as soon as we requested a maintenance man for repairs or missing items, we got one. Missing bowls were replaced by brand new sets, and we were offered alternative lodgings when we acquired an animal in the walls of our unit. At no time were we dissatisfied with the level of service. The only negatives would be the soft bed and couch, and the fact that the upper level condo had a balcony that made our condo feel like a cave. The light from the grassy backyard of our condo was taken away by the balcony of the rooms above, so make sure to get a second floor condo.
This was a partially updated room that had a nice updated bathroom and kitchen but the couch and carpeting was in need of replacing. Nice TV in the living room Flat screen but a old fashion almost on the floor one in the bedroom. Very small and uncomfortable bed. Queen size. Very hot as well and one one fan. NO AIR CONDITIONING! It got 80 degrees at night. Come on spring for a window aircontioner at least. No breeze at all at night to cool off. The fan was broken and wouldn't oscollate. Oh and did I say no real internet. We must of got on an old Wi FI conection of someone elses. So this didn't work often. This is a problem and should be a free serivce. No real front desk. You speak to some one through a flat screen TV. At least they gave free chips. Go over the hill and shop at Costco cause the stores at Incline are are very expensive. We did get staples but not to often at these small stores. We used the beach often but that is expensive as well. The room came with some tickets but were very limited. They should offer a pass for the week your there. Oh Well. Kings beach down the road towards Trukee is nice beach but costs to get on as well. We rented Kayaks for a decent price and had a blast. Aslo if you want to work out the Incline Village recreactional center is amazing and not even a mile away. Great spinning classes and weights and an amazing indoor pool. Laundry facilities are down the road by the grocery store.
