Great stay with wonderful food. if the room lighting more brighter then excellent!

What an absolute nightmare. Never, ever again will we deal with Carson Valley Inn. My sister got married in Genoa on 08/14/16 and we had booked collectively 10 rooms with this casino. We had called ahead to request 3 rooms be ready early to allow the bridal party to get ready in the room, Mary Jane had put in requests for us to do so. I had called ahead several times to triple check and make sure everything was going to run smoothly upon check in, we were reassured that they have our requests etc. My last call was at 11 am, the day of the wedding and they were expecting us at 12 pm to get ready. We had last minute errands, we ended up arriving at Carson Valley Inn @ 1:20 pm. My friend was already there trying to check in and she was visibly upset at how rude the staff was being to her. She had confirmation showing she had booked a non smoking room, yet they had her in a smoking room, which she could not stay in. Management refused to accommodate due to their mistake, she ended up cancelling her reservation and staying at a nearby hotel instead. We then tried to check in, a staff member by the name of Gil, was assisting us. NEVER, in all my years of travel, international included, have I encountered such a rude staff member. He was rude, condescending, inattentive and completely unwilling to help. Rooms were not ready, another staff member, Liz, was laughing at our issues next to him. A complete NIGHTMARE. I'm sorry we arranged for people to stay at this venue.

Great swimming pool Friendly and helpful staff Bathroom needs better LIGHTING. I had to request a microwave oven to be brought in. It was immediately installed !! Jay

I chose this hotel because it was supposed to be near South Lake Tahoe and has an indoor pool. It was actually 30 minutes outside of South Lake Tahoe (my fault- I should have looked that up beforehand). It was a nice hotel/casino. My daughter (age 3) had fun and the restaurant (24 hrs) was decent. I would come back :)

Redone rooms are nice and clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The steak house was a hidden gem with well priced wine list.

Just your ordinary motel room. Thought it was going to be in the same building as the casino but it turned out to be a block north. The name is the same as the casino so it was misleading.

We have stayed here 3 times in the last month and each time we get the same consistently comfortable rooms Immaculately clean, new carpet, quiet surroundings and free parking.

We stay here whenever we pass through and need a good night's sleep in some dependable, clean, comfortable surroundings. We have never been disappointed. We do not require a lot of amenities, but if you want a workout or a swim, that is available in the main hotel/casino. The motor lodge has recently had new carpet installed and the rooms are immaculate. The soaps and lotions in the bathrooms are of wonderful quality and smell like orange blossoms. We always look forward to out stays here and can walk to several good places to eat besides the good, reasonable food at the casino.

We have stayed at Carson Valley Inn (motor lodge) many times. It is our go-to place for a dependable comfortable stay for a night or two on our travel plan. It is a quiet, separate building from the inn and casino. We do not require lots of amenities, but they are all available in the main Inn (exercise room, indoor pool). The Inn has recently developed an outdoor facility for musical concerts and other events and it is located away from the motor lodge so there is still peace and quiet..

friendly people everywhere, good reasonable food. Liked playing life polker. The pool is indoors, so you can use it at all times. Work out room great too. Definitely will stay here again.

This is our favorite place to stay overnight on the way home North. It is nothing less than stellar as far as cleanliness and comfort. It is located away from the main casino in a quiet area. We are not folks who require a free breakfast when we stay here as we are "on the road" and like to leave early.

Finally stayed at one of the "premier hotels" at Stateline and came away realizing that CVI is SO MUCH BETTER!!! Better service, better food, better casino. Carson Valley Inn just gets better and better and I appreciate all the upgrades since the new owners took over. Will book again soon.

Very pleasant room clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Close to dining, however the smoke from the casino was some what unpleasant.

It was fine, rooms in the back very quiet, going to the main lobby is not convenient, out of the way.

It was our first time there, and we loved it, we will go back.

CVI is just over the Calif-Nevada border. The time to get to CVI from Kirkwood is about the same or less than most lodging in South Lake Tahoe, and you get a lot more value. While not Olympic size, the pool is well-heated and relaxing. The two jacuzzis are nice and hot. The key downside is the lack of shower facilities; guess they assume you shower in your room. Not so convenient for those staying in the outer building. Nevertheless, a good decent clean place to stay, that's relatively cheap and provide good access to nice amenities. Will stay again on our next trip.

my room was in a lodge across the street so no easy access to restaurant, etc. Informed at check-in that the steak house is closed Mon-Tues, just the burger-sandwich shop - bla, ugh. Had to bang my body against the room door to open it, watched blurry Monday Night Football on blurry old TV, had to kick the AC to stop it from rattling, old bla room - thought they had renovated all rooms in the last 30 years. My No Smoking room smelled of, you got it, cigarette smoke. I'll never stay here again.

Easy to get to and clean room, ample parking for larger vehicles. A/C worked great, was quite and comfortable.

The registration and checkin/out is in a nearby casino (Along Block) and the supposed interactive TV to allow guest communication didn't work and the phone to the front desk was continually busy. Very inconvenient. Room was a low average.

An average place to stay and price wasn't that bad.

We are very sorry we could not get you into your rooms before the check-in time. We do always try to accommodate such requests. It just so happens you were here on one of our busiest weekends and our weekend guests do not like to check out early. A quick recommendation for the future that will save a lot of frustration is to arrive the night before the event. That way you'll be less rushed and be able to enjoy the event with a lot less stress. Again we apologize. Yours Truly, Matt Carter Director of Hotel Operations
