We stayed at Scandic Patria in February 2018 with my family. We had 3 different types of rooms: 1 single, 1 double, and 1 family room of three. The single and the family room were of good size and comfy. My 2-year-old nephew didn't receive the welcome gift that children under the age of 13 should get. These rooms were clean and in good condition. The double was freezing and we were unable to turn the sauna on. Apparently we should have known not to turn the timer to max, instructions in the room would have been nice (or at least a mention about this feature at the check-in). The shower was quite small and had some signs of mold (nothing major but some renovations might be in order). Also the double bed was on the small side (140 cm) and we had to take a second duvet from the cupboard as there was only one (not even meant for a double) in the bed. The room was well cleaned and tidy though. There was a large window that was facing a road and the soundproofing was inadequate and this was also the main reason for the chilliness of the room as there were -15 °C outside and the window wasn't insulated properly. The breakfast room was quite dated even though some renovations had been done over the years. The breakfast was a disappointment compared to the other Scandic hotels we have stayed in. The selection was less varied and the over all look of the breakfast wasn't that appealing.
I spent two nights at the Scandic Patria while I was exploring southeast Finland, and I enjoyed my stay at this hotel VERY much. The service at all levels was superior -- the front desk staff could not have been nicer and more responsive to my needs. The evening meal I had in the hotel restaurant was absolutely delicious -- probably the best beef I've had in a long time. I felt very cozy in my room, and the bathroom tile floor was heated (at least I think it was). I also utilized the parking garage, and the rate was reasonable.
Really friendly service and good lobby services. Parking possibilities excellent. In a short distance central shopping mall and restaurant. Also nice place: Angry Birds Activity park for kids and spa in around 20 minutes driving...
Ordinary rooms, but beds are very hard. Breakfast is good and there is enought variety. The menu is poor but nearby many nice restaurants. Personal is helpful and very kind. Everything is ok but nothing special.
We've stayed for one night at this hotel and we've experienced a great service. Room was clean, warm (warm floors are the great thing) and comfortable (including cosmetic mirror, ironing supplies, ecology-friendly bathing facilities and separate waste collection bin). It was rather small for three adult people, but there is no need in much space for short term stay especially when spending most time walking around the city. Also breakfast-buffet was tasty and really variative.
Good experience. Hotel is well located. Hotel is well connected with buses to the Lappeenranta university. You can walk to the railway station (20 min) or take a bus. Nice surroundings (1 min walk to the lake). You can find restaurants in the neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast. Fast check-out.
Rested at this hotel in January 2018, a family of three, all adults. Armored through the booking, pointed out that all adults, we were given a great room for three, the only thing that the third bed is a folding chair and if you are not a miniature deLichny hotel in every way! Location, service and food are all at an excellent level. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
...it's a shame that site Scandic removed Russian language. The travelers are out of politics! In the rest - I liked everything. Scandic - the best hotel chain in Scandinavia, in my opinion. I will always stop at Scandic.
On a whole it was decent stay in spite of unexpected oddity (the condition of early check in) that I faced during my coming in. I liked the opportunity to change noisy connection room very fast and without problem, although i am still wondering why the receptionist gave me connection room if there were separate ones. Thanks other, evening shift receptionist who gave me quiet and comfy room. Definitely i liked breakfasts - wide selection of dishes. Now about the oddity. On my arrival that happened 2 hours before the official checking in time at 2 pm the morning shift receptionist offered me to pay extra 15 EUR for early check in, that seemed to me quite strange and i refused. In fact, It unpleasantly surprised me. Normally if there are free rooms available they are offered for early check in if not, let bygones be bygones and guests are asked to wait. I remember my previous stay in Scandic Patria and another hotels of Lappenrranta and I had never ever before such sad experience. Was it something new in a hotel policy, I have no notion, but never and nowhere had been said about this strange peculiarity..
