no complaints! love this place and would recommend to anyone looking for some quality time with loved ones

Played three wonderful golf courses...The National, designed by Fazio, Great Waters, designed by Niclaus, and the best of all, Oconee, designed by Rees Jones. Accommodations were exellent and the food at Georgia's Bistro was very good.Service was also very good. Overall, a golfer's paradise.

We had a very nice stay. The hotel and premises were what you would expect from a luxury hotel like the Ritz Carlton. They allowed us to have an early check in and late check out. The only thing I did not appreciate was having to wait 30 minutes pass my reservation time for a table at Georgia's Bistro (one of the restaurants in the hotel). What's the point of having a reservation??

We had not planned it, but we returned to the Ritz at Lake Oconee on Valentine's Day weekend, exactly one year after our first stay there, and we were a bit disappointed. The hotel is beautiful, the lake gorgeous and overall it was a lovely experience, but a few incidents made it less than what we have come to expect from the Ritz-Carlton. 1/ The room we were given at first looked "lived in", with an old candy wrapper in the open safe; one of the lights out, and the lamp shade on another all askew. I called housekeeping and they did change us to another room that was perfect. 2/ The next night, we dined at Gaby's. My husband ordered 2 glasses of American champagne listed on the menu. When the bill came, the price for the champagne was twice what was listed. I questionned the waitress who said that the champagne we had ordered was not available, so she took it upon herself to give us a more expensive one and charge us double the price of what we had ordered! At no point did she apologize, or acknowledge that she should have asked her, or offer to charge us the price of the champagne we had ordered rather than the more expensive item we had not asked for. Only when I said I would not pay for it did she reluctantly check with the manager who charged us for only one of the glasses of the more expensive champagne. All the while, she never apologized and looked sullen and offended, as if WE were annoying trouble makers! 3/ The check out time was 12 noon which would have allowed us to enjoy a nice, leisurely breakfast on our balcony overlooking the lake. Unfortunately, incredibly noisy lawn mowers started operating just under our windows at 9AM and were still going when we left around 11. 4/ The last bit of bad surprise was the mandatory valet parking with a surcharge of $20 per day. Last year you could self park for no charge. The rest of the accomodations were great. I found the menu of the two restaurants a little too limited, especially if you were looking for healthy lowfat fares. Otherwise, we had a great stay. The infinity pool is magnificent and was warm enough to allow us to swim in early February! Overall, it was still a great experience.

One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to.

Ritz lost our luggage from the front door to our room. Four hours later we were told it was delivered to the wrong room. We also had items missing when it was delivered. The manager did offer to replace the missing item. Several times we were served dirty dishes and wait staff was not what you would expect at a five diamond hotel. The property is great but the service was terrible. We never even got an apology about the luggage but the bell boy did make a joke about it being in the wrong room.

We enjoyed the fine dining, the luxurious spa and exercise room, the beautiful Christmas decorations. This was the best value we've ever had anywhere and we travel a lot.

The room was amazing. The bed/matress/pillows/sheets were so comfortable you hated to get out of them. The bathrooms were wonderful the floor was tile/marble and warm on your bare feet. The TV was great. Love the HDTV. The micro fridge was nice. We had roomservice and it was first rate (breakfast) I have not had a meal that was cooked that well or presented as well as it was in a long time. The staff was amazing.

Pricy resort with excellent service.

Although it's a little tough getting there, it's surely worth it! First class staff with first class accomodations. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We will come here often and tell our friends!
