Classy hotel with spectacular views, great service and amazing meals. We had a beautiful room on the corner of th building that gave us the most fabulous views of the lake. As people who don’t sleep well, the shitters to the room made it nice & dark. The meals in the restaurant and room service were outstanding.
Spent 3 days here in October 2017. Booked a lake facing room with a balcony - magnificent views from the small balcony at sunrise and sunset. Hotel was as advertised and we enjoyed the service and breakfast. Room was very good. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the rail station. Centrally located in the town close to restaurants and boat pier for lake cruises.
The hotel perfectly located overlooking the lake & close to the ferry terminal. View from the terrace of room 606 was spectacular. But the hotel itself was average, not what you would expect from a 4 star rating. Whilst it was neat & clean with attentive wait staff at breakfast there were some down sides. The breakfast buffet was quite adequate for our needs but not 4 star. There is no fridge, no tea & coffee facilities in the room. The bed linen is old & scratchy, the pillows past use by date. But the biggest thing was the extremely poor water pressure in the bathroom on the top floor, a dribble of cold if you were lucky and no hot at all. Showering was tedious and time consuming. Toilet would not flush as there was not enough water. Despite reporting this on day 1, we had the impression the hotel knew about it but didn't know how to fix it and nothing changed. We met another guest who had the same problem & had also reported it. Overall loved the stay because of the location & the view. Without those the room would have been very ordinary
This was our third multi- day visit to Stresa in the last ten years. We like to find a place to stay as a home base and take day trips from there. It was our first time at the Speranza and it won’t be our last time. Our previous experiences were at smaller hotel up on a hill... and also good... but this was a special experience. The professionalism and congeniality of the entire staff was exactly what you would want and expect from a four star hotel. Of special note is the wait staff. Carmelo and his team( Carmelo2, Vincenzo,Francesco )and especially Lello were top notch. We were always greeted with a smile and extra attentiveness. We originally booked for a nine day stay but decided to take an excursion by train to Venice in the middle of our stay This required us to check out ofSperanza for two days and then check back in for our final two nights in Stresa. This arrangement was cheerfully accommodated by the front desk staff who let us leave our luggage for two days ( we packed just backpacks for Venice) and guaranteed us rooms when we returned. When we came back from Venice we were greeted with big warm smiles just as though we were coming home! To top it off our bags were put in our rooms waiting for us. Simona at the front desk should be commended for her help. There were others at the front desk( I am sorry but I can’t remember their names ) that were equally accomodating, friendly and professional. Given that there were so many tour groups and demands of their attention they remained steadfast and professional. I could go on and on but let me say that this place was awesome and we will look forward to coming here again. Grazie Mille per totto!
We stayed 3 nights in Speranza au Lac and we had a great Family Room with 2 single beds and a King Bed. The room was by, convenient for family with 2 kids and the bathroom big enough too. Breakfast was a bit simple and some breads a bit dry but the location is so perfect with pedestrian street behind than we will definitely recommend the Hotel and we will probably come back in Stresa.
My wife and I were on an organized tour of N.Italy and S.Switzerland so we had no influence on the choice of the hotel or the food, and accommodation at this hotel. With very modest expectations we were agreeably surprised. There were negatives - noise from bottles being loaded for recycling in the early morning, trucks in the neighbouring driveway delivering early morning bread supplies, and a relatively small double room, but these were outweighed by the food and the central location in the town opposite the sea front. The hotel and the tour operators outdid themselves on the final night of our stay with a superb farewell dinner served in the main restaurant.- and as with all our evening meals, which were all more than satisfactory there was an abundance of very drinkable wine served with the meal which contributed to a very lively group dynamic and I suspect many happy guests.
Spent a few days in Stresa staying in this lovely old hotel. Breakfasts were good but the evening meals were very good, we enjoyed some really delicious Italian cooking, really excellent lasagne, in particular the vegetarian option featuring green pesto. The hotel is very close to the pier to get boats to the various islands close by. We had a lakeside room overlooking the lake on the fifth floor, well worth booking.
We stayed at the hotel Milan Speranza Au Lac for 3 nights. We had the most amazing view from our balcony. We also had the most large balcony we had ever had on our trip. We were on the top floor with amazing views. The rooms were well kept and the breakfast was also very good. We also got a free dinner with our booking. The hotel is sort of divided into two hotels and the restaurant for dinner was in the other one. It was a nice restaurant but we only at one of our evening dinners there. I would suggest a room facing Lake Miaggaiorie and as high up as possible. I took the staircase even though they had a lift - was good after eating all day.
Just back from a lovely holiday at this hotel in gorgeous Lake Maggiore. Room with a balcony overlooking the lovely little streets.Breakfast was continental style. But still very good. Service at meal times an absolute delight. Waiting staff were brilliant. Always served with a smile. Whole experience was well worth it.
My husband and I had reserved a room for 2 facing the Gorgeous Lago Maggiore for 3 nights. I had requested room 546 as I heard that it had a fabulous view. The Hotel reservations official, Simone, replied that this room was for 3 persons and I had booked my room with a non- refundable, unchangeable reservation. She assured me that the hotel front desk staff would take good care of me and my husband, and that our room would be perfect anyway. To our surprise, we were given that room upon our arrival. The hotel staff was able to accommodate our request to our most pleasant surprise. We loved the room and the view was fantastic from our balcony. We had been traveling through France, including Paris and Lyon and this Hotel was our favorite by far. The front desk staff were most hospitable and speak perfect English. They were most helpful with directions to the local tourist sights. The dining room was elegant and the service was superb. The dishes were delicious and generously presented. I can't say enough about the hospitality given to us at this beautiful hotel. We hope to return to Stresa and the Hotel Milan Speranza au Lac soon and enjoy the lovely Lago Maggiore again.
