Great position opposite ferry terminal and central to shops and restaurants and reasonable priced. The first room given to me was a tiny boxroom so I asked for something larger as was staying 4 days. I was given a larger room with big balcony much better. Partial water view but room was clean and comfortable and staff friendly. There was some noise/music coming from restaurants downstairs on the Saturday night but this just added to the atmosphere and could not be heard if balcony doors were closed.Breakfast was very good and their coffee was excellent. I'd stay there again and next time request a lake view room.

This is a good reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location just across the road from the town dock and car park also the center of Stresa is behind the hotel which has loads of shops and restaurants/café's. We had a corner lake view room it was nicely decorated ,clean , a reasonable size and had four balconies . Breakfast was the usual but adequate continental type they had the best bread cob's we've ever had in Italy. All the staff nice friendly and helpful .

Lovely hotel directly opposite the ferry terminal, a view of the lake from the breakfast room and adjacent to the bus stops. There is a shuttle bus stop for malpensa airport a few yards away. The alibis which you can book online for €12 each way one hours journey. Not very frequent but worth it if it fits your flight schedule

Excellently position in the nice village of stresa. Easy access to the island visits and the city center. Very nice service - French, English, Italian speaking. Nice breakfast, pretty basic rooms, but you have all you need including very good a/c. Would stay again.

We are a retired couple, travelling the Italian Lakes district in August without reservations. We checked the Tourist Office for accommodation possibilities and chose this hotel because it was nearest, literally right across the street from the Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, from which the boats depart for trips to the Borromeo Islands. The train station is very close by. Right alongside and behind the hotel are cobblestone lanes with quaint boutiques and many charming restaurants and wine bars. Our room was on the 2nd floor, at 111 Euros including breakfast. It was relatively small but had very high ceilings, closet space with a safe, a flat screen TV mounted above a desk, and tall French doors leading to the small balcony with a couple of chairs facing the street and the lake. Unfortunately, the trees along the street block the view of the lake. The door has sheer curtains and shutters that provide privacy. We kept the shutters only partly closed and left the balcony door open at night. There was some automobile traffic and people walking on the street but not enough noise to bother us. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well both nights. The bathroom was adeqjuately sized, had a shower, toilet, bidet and sink, hairdryer and gel/shampoo/shower cap, etc. The room was a bit dated and everything was SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. Free WiFi was fast and good. Also on that floor is a large lounge, nicely furnished with a comfortable couch and chairs and desks with computer screens. Breakfast is ample with lovely, fresh croissants, buns, cold meats and cheese, jams, yoghourt, cereal, fruits, juice and cofee of choice. It is served in a bright room with huge windows overlooking the street and the square. A public parking lot in the square across the street offers meter parking during the day. Parking is free at night. The hotel has an arrangement whereby their customers can park there for just over 8 Euros per day. We found parking in Italy is very sparse and this location is very convenient. The hotel is very conveniently located to everything. In hindsight, we should have chosen the room on the fourth floor for 133 Euros because the view of Lake Maggiore is magical at night time. The lady at the front desk had a serious demeanour at first and hesitated to show us the room before we booked, which made us suspicious but our fears were needless. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very good value for the money.

We wanted a comfortable hotel for our ten day stay at Lake Maggiore that was not to expensive. This hotel is perfectly situated close to the lake and shops etc. Handy little bar next door. The hotel is family run and only offers bed and breakfast which was a bit of a drawback. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and the hotel very clean and tidy. Overall no complaints.

How should I start! Service? Which service! They have a closing hour, yes closing hour, meaning the owner closes the hotel door completely from 1 am until 7 am. No chance to get in or out... We were on wedding party and they gave us the extra permit to ring the bell after 1 am... Breakfast, hmmm too bad! Industry rolls, sweets all packed, no fresh stuff such as tomatos... Don't think about eggs, eggs are an extra charge. Ah ok the coffee was not bad! Rooms are clean but outdated, and you smell the nicotine - even the owners smoke inside. Not a nice experience, only good thing is the location... But the wedding was great so all fine in the end :)

This hotel is very competitively priced for the area. However, the rooms are very tired and in need of investment, no fridge and the Wi-Fi is rubbish as its limited to fixed time allowances, then you have to get a new code and only one person can sign in at any one time. We were allocated a room looking to the side, directly looking into the rooms of the hotel next door and down onto the bin area, which was disappointing and meant we did not really use the balcony at all, which was a real shame. We tried to talk to the owners about this, but they appeared to think we were trying to get a free upgrade to lake view and outright refused to listen! Breakfast was good, but not always replenished near to end of service, i.e. croissants & juice etc.. The location directly opposite the ferry terminal is great, but given the lack of customer care and the very basic accommodation, this hotel should only be considered as a base if you cant or really don't want to spend more on something better

My family and I recently stayed in this hotel. The location is great, a 15-20 minute walk to the train station. It is right across the street from the lake. We had two rooms, one double and one triple. When we arrived, we were told only one room was booked. Fortunately, I had the reservation on my phone to show we had two rooms booked. The triple (51), where I stayed, had a balcony view over the little square with a partial view of the water. The double room did not have a water view (63 or 64). In my opinion, if you are staying in ANY hotel along this main road in hopes for a water view and you don't get one, why stay there at all? The rooms we stayed in are on the pink painted side of the hotel not shown in the main picture above. Behind the hotel is a market and restaurant area. The room itself was nice and basic. The family that runs the hotel is friendly as well. The woman who served coffee at breakfast was wonderful and so attentive! The breakfast itself was fine, mostly pastries. Some hard boiled eggs would have made it more satisfying though. The coffee was delicious. If you have questions about anything, make sure you ask. We did the half board option that we found on expedia. It included dinner in our final cost. TOTALLY WORTH IT! We walked to the Ristorante Fiorentine. It was perfect.

This hotel is great to use as base. It's clean and has a perfect location with a view of the lake. It is within walking distance of the train station and the main square and is directly across the street from the ferry terminal...that ends the list of amenities. It could definitely use a face lift and the breakfast was the exact same all 5 mornings (the breakfast waitress was fabulous!). The free wifi was sketchy at best. Also, the hotel doors are locked at night and not reopened until 7 a.m. If you are an early riser and would like to go for a walk or grab a cappuccino before 7, you are out of luck. That being said, you can't beat the price for this location. If you are looking for a place to rest and clean up from day trips, this hotel is a good bargain. If you are looking for luxury, keep looking.
