We stayed here 2 nights as part of a pre-river cruise package. The hotel is a modern building behind the railway station and a bit of a hoof from the main town area. They seem to cater to tour groups. While our room was comfortable, there was no view whatsoever. Service was pretty disinterested except for the delightful woman who manned the lobby bar in the afternoon. We didn't make the reservation, and if ever we are in Luzern again, we would stay elsewhere.
I can only recommend this very centrally located hotel! When being in Lucerne for Business or Leisure I will surely stay in this excellent hotel again. Breakfast delicious, ervic perfect & all employees very friendly & attentive! Look forward to my next stay!
Me, My husband and our 7yr old son stayed at the hotel during August for 5 days. The hotel is modern and well decorated with spacious lobby and front office and bell staff to assist you. our room didn't have a great view.. but I guess you can probably ask for one overlooking the river. the room was nice and fine in terms of space. just the bathroom is too close to the bed and its a sliding door to the bathroom which doesn't close fully. so its a bit awkward. other than that its very comfy. the room service is good, we asked for pizza and fries in the room for kids. the pizza was excellent and came quite quickly. the breakfast has a very good spread. they even serve Asian food - Chinese and Indian - there was Chana and rice. it wasn't great but after 10 days of French and swiss food, it was a welcome change. there were the other regular items on the menu - cereals, eggs to order, sausages, muffins, fruits, breads etc. The staff was generally good. however, we did find some who weren't happy serving and had a very straight face. it was a busy time I guess but on a holiday one doesn't need that. I also lost an item from the room.. the hotel's location is the best part. Its very close to the train station, shopping district, Clock tower, the Chapel bridge, shopping district and restaurants and river cruise area. Its a good place to stay if you are looking for good connectivity, food and fine rooms. Service can be better.
Not all the rooms have a lovely view but mine did. The breakfast was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The lobby bar is pretty and it never seemed too noisy. It's very close to the concert hall and the train station.
Stayed here following a river cruise. Ideal location, easy walk to train station, numerous sites, shops and restaurants. The room and bathroom were both very spacious. Staff pleasant upon checkin and checkout.
Stayed one night. Room was clean and large. Bathroom and facilities are all modern, as you would expect in a 4 Star hotel. I found the car parking and breakfast cost a bit high. The hotel is walking distance from the train station, and walking distance to the old town. Staff were friendly, and we had no issues.
Nice welcome & check out as well as daily service, good food, Breakfast arrengement was good, House Keeping, Hotel amenities & view from room also very nice. I will highly recomanded my collegues & friends to visit Radisson Blu.
This hotel was booked as part of a package before boarding a river cruise and we couldn't have been happier with the hotel. The room was lovely, well appointed and very clean and well maintained. We had dinner the first night in Luce and it was excellent, service was wonderful and the char was perfectly cooked, also had an excellent wine selection. Breakfast was very good and catered to all tastes. The reception desk were so helpful with recommendations for sites to see and places to eat , they even booked a taxi to take us there. We would certainly look to stay here next time we visit the beautiful city of Lucerne.
We stayed in the Rad Blu as part of our Viking River cruise vacation and Viking selected this hotel for us. Its a very cool hotel in a beautiful city. The room was comfortable and well appointed. There seems to be fascination on the part of hotel designers with making bathroom walls and doors out of glass. While the glass wall and door in this room's bathroom was frosted, it still lets out a lot of light in the middle of the night. My one dislike of the room is the shower. I don't know how the Swiss bathe, but you get a long tub with a shower head at one end. There is a thin piece of glass about the width of the bathroom vanity that's supposed to keep the water from going all over the room. I'd ditch the tub for a walk-in shower any day. The restaurant is superb for both breakfast and dinner. The staff is very attentive and the food was excellent. You can tell that the Swiss really know about service because they were just so darned happy to be doing their jobs. It was great and a nice way to start a vacation. The Rad Blu is literally next to the train station, which is good if you are using the trains. Otherwise it is little ways from the Old Town, but not that far; about a 10 minute walk. However, the train station itself has lots of places to eat and shop. The Rad Blu gives you free metro passes and Lucerne is beautiful city so you should see it. If you get the chance, go visit the Swiss Museum of Transportation - an easy bus ride from the hotel (#24 as I recall). Easily one of the best museums I have ever visited. All in all, I would stay here again.
Very good hotel. View of lake and Rigi from our window. Easy walk to the Kapelle bridge and old town, and to the train station. Excellent breakfasts included. Service great too-- nothing bad to say!! A great place to sleep away our jet lag before exploring this beautiful part of Switzerland
