a well equipped lovely hotel. one must stay in this hotel. staff are very good and courteseous. break fast is 2 good. this hotel located very near to railway station and shopping malls. you can enjoy the lake by sitting in the room itself.
We visited Lucerne for new year’s and had a great stay at Radisson . The location is very convenient and is just a few minutes walking distance from the train station. Our favourite activity was waking across the hotel to the lake and feeding the ducks and swans . Our 3 year old absolutely loved it ! All in all a great stay ! Definitely deserving of 5 stars!
I have stayed here several times as required by a client. It’s a mixed bag. First the bad. The hotel is far more concerned with their policies than making it a good experience for guests. They will charge you for booked rooms even with several days notice of change in plans. And, that’s when they are collecting thousands and thousands of Francs from a client. It’s so unwise on their part because clients have choices in where to book, and we have booked elsewhere. Big loss of money for them just because they weren’t willing to be flexible with the individual needs of guests. (To be fair, I have found Switzerland hotels have issues in this area all the time. Policies are guides not to be used against guests!) The other negative. This is a high volume hotel for cruise lines and businesses. If you’re coming for pleasure, choose somewhere else. They have tons of luggage to deal with all the time on small elevators and it can get in the way. On the positive side. In spite of management authority giving very little ability for the front desk people to make decisions for guests, the staff are helpful and pleasant, both at the desk and in the dining room. Good for them. Breakfast is a great plus. The cater to all cuisines and it is great, albeit very hectic. The rooms vary quite a bit. Most have no views to speak of as it’s on the rail yard and attached to a business school. Don’t stay here if you want a view. Rooms can be very small but business class rooms are large. It is close to the Bahnhof and a nice little park with LOTS of activity and festivals all year long. The staff do their best, but I hope to not stay here in the future.
Loved this hotel! Staff was very friendly and attentive! Would stay here again! The outside seating was so nice, great place to enjoy breakfast or an afternoon snack! Our room was recently remodeled and was so clean & contemporary! And loved the wall of windows which brought in the outdoors!
By no means an unpleasant stay, in fact, service was very good at the desk and at breakfast....more of that later. But our room...on the 4th floor, sort of looking inwards and overlooking what appeared to be a small paved area was quirky. Again, not horrible, just a bit strange, sort of as if designed by some failed student of minimalisation....maybe the black sheep of the bauhaus movement...not to our taste. It was clean and comfortable, just an odd shape, in fact my wife and i lay in bed one night redesigning the room whilst eating swiss chocolate. Anyway, breakfast was a delightful affair, huge choice and very tasty. The hotel is situated perfectly, not dead central, but central enough and tucked away from any hurly burly, we enjoyed it.
We stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lucerne as a post cruise extension, so transportation to Zurich International & breakfasts were included. My wife & I were pleased with the color scheme in the lobby & the spaciousness of the room. My wife was allowed to enjoy the excellent sauna before check-in. Our appreciation to Clerks Sara D & Catharina zu S for their gracious service. The location was very convenient, next to the train station. Lucerne is a fairly small city, making easy to get around on foot. The lake cruise was perhaps a 15 minute stroll from the hotel. The restaurant Luce presented fine Swiss cuisine for dinner. We had the selection of various local cheeses as appetizers. Breakfast buffet was different from what we would expect in the US. The selections were healthier but still filling. My biggest complaint was the Swiss/German two prong outlets throughout the room. I asked the front desk if they had adapters I could borrow, they said no but did have some for purchase. I realized that this was after all Switzerland, but Radisson could offer some out with a refundable deposit. Luckily for us, a tour coordinator offered two to use during our stay.
Lovely hotel, situated close to the station and easily accessible. The room was spacious and well maintained. Modern bathroom with a bath. We had a stunning view from the room Staff were friendly Excellent stay
Amazing property which is just 5 min walk from lucerne main station. Highly aupportive staff. Food is also good, the breakfast spread is nice. I was lucky to have a room with lucerne lake view. Few rooms are having a view of lake. Overall a great hotel to stay in lucerne.
Great Location of the hotel, particularly using the bridge that connects straight to the train station. Excellent service by front reception. Also, room facilities e.g. heated bathroom floor, TV options, were excellent.
We arrived to Lucerne by train and were a bit worried about finding our hotel. As we pulled into the train station we spotted it so the proximity to transport is great (don’t worry, it’s not noisy). Staff were friendly, we were upgraded to a Business Class room which was large and cosy. The bar and foyer area are nice and we had breakfast at the Luce Restaurant which was particularly a hit with our young one. You can easily walk to popular tourist destinations and shopping destinations from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel as good value for money. Thank you for your hospitality.
