Thanks everyone at the Art Deco Montana for a wonderful stay, in particular Britta on reception! I didn't expect such a warm friendly welcome, however Britta was just lovely and we couldn't help but feel that she genuinely wanted us to enjoy our first trip(it wont be our last!) to Lucerne. We booked a penthouse room with a view- and what a view it was!! The photo's don't even do it justice, I'd highly recommend paying that extra bit more for a room with a balcony that looks out over the lakes and Mount Pilatus (there was half a dozen other mountains within sight too, just don't ask me what they were called!). Our room was perfect and the decor was in keeping with the hotels style but done in a modern way. As we spent the day out and about enjoying Lucerne we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant - Scala. Again just like our room, the views from our table were breathtaking! We enjoyed the 3 course menu with wine pairings, the food was amazing and I'd return to the Art Deco for that reason alone! Tom our server along with rest of the restaurant staff were all very attentive and friendly. Overall we'd an amazing stay.. we were expecting the hotel itself to deliver this. However what we didn't expect was the friendliness of the staff which was the added bonus to our stay! Thanks again everyone!
Gorgeous view, well-decorated rooms, comfortable bed, nice bar. Location is good, if a little bit off-center, parking was easy. Expected the room to be a bit bigger and the hotel to have a pool (it doesn't). Staff were very welcoming.
We stayed here for one night before flying back home from Zurich. The hotel is absolutely stunning and took our breath away. The hotel is in a pretty good location. We took the bus from the train station, and it took about 5-10 minutes. It's also an easy 15-20 minute walk to the old town and shops. The rooms were clean, spacious, and modern. The bed was very comfortable, and we got a great night's sleep. We had to be at the train station before 5 AM, and the hotel was gracious enough to call a taxi for us. They even made each of us lunch bags for the train since we left before breakfast. I definitely recommend Art Deco Hotel Montana for a stay in Lucerne!
My wife and I stayed in a junior suite which was truly beautiful. With an easterly view over lake Lucerne the hot tub and the views were definitely the highlights of this room. Great friendly staff, all very pleasant, efficient and professional. I would love to return again this year.
With a cop a coffee on the balcony , i am writing this review, with the view of the lake . We arrived at this hotel late late night , where we found hour way to the front desk. Checkin was so smooth and the led us to our room , it just took us from the door of the hotel to be on bed in just 15 minutes. Thanks front desk. The room was fabulous, comfortable beds, and the view was breathtaking. Room service did not take time , with our order. Housekeeping are spot on cleaning. The hotel is near to most of the landmarks, 10-30 minutes walk. Thank you Montana hotel for making our trip wonderful .
We had a lovely time at Art Deco Montana in Lucerne! The room and bathroom were out of this world - so lovely and so clean. The view was stunning and made the whole trip uphill worth it! The hotel is very close to downtown and transportation. They made lovely recommendations for what to do and where to eat, especially Andrea! She was the best!
Wonderful hotel. Had a great time in Lucerne. Loved the unique location and stunning view out of my hotelroom. Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. I am very happy and would definitely come back for a second visit.
Last July when we were staying in nearby Vitznau, one of the two days we ventured out to Lucerne via boat - we visited Hotel Montana for mid-day drinks with a view. It was a recommendation provided by our boat captain and he was not wrong at all! Hotel Montana had such a cool factor to begin with, you hop on the tiny cable car leading up to the hotel. From there, you enter into the lobby with a restaurant but you could venture up further to the rooftop where it offered breathtaking views of Lucerne and the lake. At first glance, we loved the sand on the floor giving off a beach-y vibe. It felt less like being on a rooftop bar than on a beach somewhere. The bar wasn't too crowded so we found a spot on the lounge seating and passed the time away. If you want a view of Lucerne, Hotel Montana was it! We must've spent a good chunk of an hour sipping on drinks and admiring the views. The service was quite slow but since we were on vacation, who cared? Since we didn't stay here, I cannot comment on its rooms but what we can gathered from our experience, the rooftop bar and views were pretty solid.
Beautiful hotel in Lucerne. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Room are very nice and the view of the lake, mountains and town are spectacular. Very nicely located near the town and convenient for walking down by the water.
The hotel is situated on a hill above the lake level on the best spot in town. There is a special elevator that brings you to the street level so one could walk every where. Nevertheless they give you a bus/tram pass to use while you stay. We upgraded to a corner room with the lake view - amazing view from both sides that worth every cent. The room is specious; brightly clean. Even the bathroom had that view from the well isolated windows. Everything works perfectly- just like a Swiss watch. Fresh fruit at the corridor free for all. Very good breakfast. The Luis bar is very well decorated, has everything you want or need, good music, even locals come to enjoy their time there.
