A little way out of the town but still a view of the lake from the restaurant. Rooms are typical Novotel type - open wardrobes and shelves. Minibar (not free) - we were charged 7 euro for one bottle of cola. Bed comfortable. Restaurant very nice but a little expensive for the quality - two main meals and one dessert, plus bottle of wine and one beer = 92 euros.
A very basic hotel. No luxury. Rooms are good & beds are comfortable. The bathroom is very small. Room service is bad. Not enough staff at the reception. However, the restaurant and the garden are amazing! Also, the price is very reasonable. Loved the garden, views and swimming pool. Very suitable for people with children.
Stayed here for 5 nights. Was greeted with a fast check in and pleasant face. I had also forgotten my travel adaptor and the hotel was only kind enough to oblige. A multi pack that will give me great value. The menu was diverse, the setting is excellent. As it was business the location didn't present me any issues but there is not much around the hotel. The inclusive breakfast had a varied selection and free water and soft drinks supplied to the mini bar daily was a great touch. The only downside to the hotel was the basic gym BUT for most this won't be an issue.
I stayed in this Novatel for three days for business. I chose it mostly because of a lack of availability in other hotel accommodation near to the centre of Lausanne. The property is about 35 to 40 minutes by public transport or 25 minutes by car from the centre of Lausanne on a normal day based on normal traffic. If you are travelling with your own car it is close to the motorway exit for Crissier. This hotel is a low rise property featuring what I call the most modern generation of Novotel decor, including the white non-ceramic bathroom sink and the very clean line of multi function furniture. My room was reasonably sized and included a mini bar, a quite a small television screen the doors to the bathroom were of the panelled smoked glass variety. The room and the furniture were clean and modern. Storage space for my clothes is a hanging rack and various shelves (none of which however are behind a closable door ) so your clothes hang in the entrance area near the WC. The bed is comfortable, and one of the particularities of this property is that most of the rooms seem to have a terrace with a small outdoor table and chairs and large French glass doors. This means one can open the door and benefit from a little bit of fresh air rather than turning on the air-conditioning. The noise from the busy motorway and road is distinguishable but not a problem. The hotel also has a fitness room and a swimming pond - yes, pond, as in "natural swimming pool", with a variety of plants growing in it. As bizarre as that might sound it has been most refreshing to take a dip in there in the evening during this spell of hot weather. There is a shower for rinsing off and also a comfortable area for lounging in the sunshine. The bar and restaurant open onto the grassy area near the pond which creates a pleasant atmosphere. You might well ask why there is a Novatel in a quiet suburb of Lausanne. The presence, perhaps 150 metres from the entrance of the hotel, of (one of many in this neck of the woods) offices of very large multinational Swiss conglomerate is the only answer you need. As such you can expect the hotel to be very international on any given night of the week, and the bar is often full to overcrowded in the evenings with people attending meetings conferences and other work oriented affairs. It is perhaps childish to register this as a comment or even a complaint but I did find that the large numbers of corporate people in the bar in the evening made it quite noisy to have to cross the reception area when heading to the pond or just coming down for dinner. In the end I opted for room service. Staff are pleasant and discreet and the overall impression I get is of a well run, well organised hotel. It is not ideal if you are doing work closer to the centre of Lausanne but let's face it, Lausanne is not exactly a massive city and a short bus ride to Renens station and you are immediately with in just 10 to 15 minutes of Lausanne central station.
I am currently writing from the Novotel in Lausanne where I was having a really good time till an appalling incident. There are no plastic wrappers in the toilet to dispose off diapers etc. The box on the wall was empty. (pic attached). I used my own wrappers to wrap soiled diapers. I called the front desk asking for help with disposal of the trash. The guy who spoke, Lucas was horribly rude and arrogant. His solution was to hold the trash in the room till morning. What is the logic to this please? I have paid for this room and it is not my responsibility to dispose of the trash. This is a business transaction and I expect to be taken care off, or to be helped out if I have an issue. I interacted with Lucas twice over the phone and once in person. All three times, he came across as rude and ineffective. Asked for a manager, he said, no body is there to help. Raised my voice, a manager came out running. Hah! My issue is, if you are not able to help, pls guide to another person who can. Don't ruin my experience. And be polite. I have travelled the world and have had wonderful experience with other Novotel hotels, in addition to the Radisson group. Never been treated like this. This person is ruining your image and does not belong in the hospitality industry. You guys seriously need to solve the trash disposal problem in your hotel. If you can't take care of infants please DONT take our money and ruin our experience. NEVER AGAIN!
very clean nice people and peaceful. the view is very nice with beautiful mountain. a bit outside of the city so you need a car if you want to go out at night. lots of parking space. with outdoor swimming pool and gym.
At arrival with motorbike rececption was not friendly not helpfull, even not after showing my platina hotel card. Booked a privilage room, but the rain shower and the sink didn't work. Restaurant was okay.
1 night we stayed in Novotel and this hotel is not in the centre. But it's a good to hotel to stay over. There is a fitness room. The restaurant serves good meals. Close to the highway is eady to acces.
Our tour group of 24 stayed here for two nights while on a Grand Tour of Switzerland. Although located 8 km from Lausanne, the tiny village of Bussigny is charming. One can easily walk from the hotel in under 10 minutes. My spouse and I recommend a stroll through the picturesque streets. There are only two restaurants in this village, but we can highly recommend Cafe De Amis for an excellent meal. This is a decent hotel--all Novotels in Europe seem to be basically the same: king bed, simple structured rooms with built-in bedside tables, love seat, desk, chair, wardrobe, safe and hairdryer. Except that in this one, since it was Switzerland, the outlets require a very unique triangular-configured adapter that citizens of the USA are rarely unable to obtain. As such, one must request this adapter plug from the reception desk, or hope that your two-prong adapter will work. Thankfully, ours did. Most Novotel rooms in which my spouse and I have stayed throughout the continent, are beastly hot, with no possible way to adjust the temperature. Although we kept the window open throughout our stay, we never reached a comfortable temperature conducive to a sound sleep during the two nights we slept here. It was usually around 78 F. On our second day here, I requested of housekeeping a top sheet to replace the duvet. I recommend you do the same if you are hot and uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet, which was included in our Cosmos Grand Tour of Switzerland, was very generous. Items offered were boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, mixed salad greens, beans, small potatoes, bacon, veal sausage, various cheeses, fruit (including excellent mangoes), figs (the only place I found figs), various breads and pastries, yogurt, and assorted cereals. It actually had a better selection of foods than the Novotel Zurich City-West. One could not ask for more. The one dinner Cosmos Tours provided for our group in the hotel dining room was okay. Nothing special: chicken breast topped with an average spaghetti and rice. As I suggested, a Novotel is consistently a Novetel no matter where you are.
We made a stopover on our way to Geneva. Room is not big but it is well equipped and clean. Wireless internet works fine. Breakfast is very good. Hotel is not close to city center, neither is priced high.
