Friendly and welcoming staff, we were told upon arrival that our room had been upgraded, which for the last night of our two week tour round Switzerland was lovely to hear! The room was HUGE and we had a fantastic stay, would totally recommend.
I was attracted but the number of stars, but it was just about ok, with the bare minimum of facilities. and bizarrely the staff don't work weekends, so no room service or bar. Don't have the breakfast, it's nothing special at all, and twice the cost of pain quotidian around the corner. In fact if you can don't find yourself in Lausanne on a Sunday, nothing is open, there nothing to do and nobody about.
Quiet and comfortable room Good central location Good breakfast Empathic and professional staff Good free wifi Fitness room is ok Car parking free (limited to 5 cars however) A good choice for business and turism
Uphill with parking spaces where you can leave your vehicle, a somehow uncomfortable set of steps and a side reception which has to be surmised, very helpful and dutiful receptionist, comfortable rooms, somehow less so bathrooms, the corridors heavily supplied with furniturem woarks hanging, ethnic stuff, individual books-cases filled with books, all somehow dissonantly arranged but still. As the little painting in the recdeption depicts this is a historic building, radiant and garden clad around 1910 which is now suffocated but still offers hotel hospitality at a discrete and serious level.
We stayed here for three nights and were very satisfied with the location of the hotel and the room. We were on the reception floor behind the common room but our room was quiet even with a party in the common room. We liked the convenience of the hotel - near the train and subway stations. Our only issue was with the tub/shower. We are older and prefer standalone showers, not showers in a tub with a high side.
This is a very well located hotel with outstanding staff who are extremely welcoming and helpful. Five minutes walk from the main station. Quiet, comfortable and very clean rooms. Could imagine this as an excellent business hotel and for a touring couple, us, was perfect because of proximity to public transport and an easy walk to the port. This is a four star hotel so be prepared for smallish rooms unless you select the more spacious option. As we were only there for two nights, we went the economy room and had no regrets.
I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is vey close to the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. My single room was clean and well appointed. The room was very quiet. The English tv choices were large. It is also close to the Lausanne subway, which is included with your hotel stay. I did not eat here, but would definitely stay there again.
It`s so easy to find as it`s just across the train station. Entering the hotel will merit a reaction. The lobby is an eyeful with its decor straight out of a period movie. The design theme is repeated in every floor. No problem with the room which has the usual amenities for any 4-star accommodation such as comfy bed, writing table, personal ref, private bath plus free wifi. Added factor is the window view of a city sight. With breakfast subject to a separate charge at a rather steep price, there are other options by way of coffee shops and fast-food joints nearby. The helpful staff will respond to the needs of the guest, including giving the free transportation pass for touring the city. That`s a consolation considering that Switzerland is expensive.
I agree with the other commenter that said one of the staff acted as if he was the "superior" Short story, i am an intern that works in Lausanne. During the last day of my work, my family had to help me to move out, so we have tremendous amount of heavy luggages. We booked a junior suite room for 2 people, as i did not plan to stay there with my family and taking the latest train to Montreux instead (my school). Unfortunately, we missed the last train and i asked him politely if it is possible to pay the city tax or extra bed to join the room and he said no. And i explained to him that my family just had a 18hrs flight from Indonesia and we had total 6 huge luggages with us so we don't mind to pay a little bit of extra money. But what shocked us the most was when he answered "you still can leave to Montreux now" (note that its 12.30 AM and he said it with the look as if he was disgusted). At the end we booked another room although no one is staying there. I work in a hospitality industry and it really disappoint me to see how unprofessional the staff was for a 4stars hotel like this. Would definitely not going back. We gave the rating only for the convenient location.
Lausanne is expensive and i booked a more reasonable room but overall better than expectations. Location was good, but there were s few things that we a little annoying. Found receptionist on check in and out was not that friendly and as if he thought he was superior. Lift to get to reception a little awkward. Did not have breakfast at hotel as there were more interesting options for same/cheaper cost. Room was quite warm. Shower not obvious to use... need to pull the tap towards you?
