Hotel is nice and clean - came across as a business hotel type. Staff was quite helpful and gave good information about near by places. View from balcony was fabulous - lake and mountains. Very close to Vevey and quite close to both Montreaux and Lausanne by Car.
We stayed here for a couple of weeks August-September. We stayed in a superior double room facing the lake and it was fantastic. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, it was clean, and the view from the balcony was absolutely spectacular. Overall, the hotel was clean and relatively quiet (neighbour dependant!). Our only issue was that during the trip the cleaners discarded a part of our travel kettle set! Without this piece the set is useless, so we have to replace it. We explained the situation to reception and it was suggested that this was somewhat fabricated. If anything goes wrong during your stay, don't expect much understanding or accountability from the hotel. This was only a small inconvenience during a long stay, but the attitude was such that we probably wouldn't return.
Its hard not to be captivated by the sweeping views that the PreAlpina offers. The rooms were well-appointed but the focus is invariably on the views again! The hotel prepared a delicious dinner to be eaten on the patio...with the same requisite views. Enjoyed the meal and service, the pricing was high relative to other European destinations we were at, but that is not unique to this hotel, its just Switzerland in general. They allowed us a conference room to view a trip video to conclude our trip and to enjoy the closing dessert reception. The reception desk (Ilea) was always helpful and responsive. The hotel location js perfectly central to waking the vineyards of the Lavaux or hopping a train to Montreal or venturing down to a small beach for swimming or boating. I would stay there again in a heartbeat...and you should too!
If you come here and choose to stay. This is an incredible hotel. I must say that in order to really enjoy this hotel you need to have a balcony room. The hotel is a bit echoy and if you get the wrong neighbours can be a little noisy.. but we still love their stay here it would still give it A5 star rating. The views are incredible the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable.
We stayed here for one night in January. We had trouble finding the place, since the signpost by the main road was not lit, and it was already quite late and dark. When we finally managed to find the hotel and were given the room on the top floor, the difficulties were worth it. The view from the balcony is amazing over the lake Geneva. The rooms are modern with really comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the breakfast on the following morning, even though the breakfast room was not fully heated.
We arrived at night and room was full of flies We spoke to reception he said there nothing to do till morning And he suggested to change our room he gave us room with no view For me it was bad experience and the reception guy he was mean so we cleaned the room from the dead flies and we killed the live from them Then enjoy the view in morning from our balcony
Quiet and efficient just off the autobahn with free parking in this small village. The hotel is really set up for business conferences or large tour groups, not a quaint B&B that you'd find in the villages themselves though you'll have to work harder to find those places. We chose to skip breakfast and walk into the village or include lunch in our visit to Lausanne or Montreux nearby instead.
Interesting renovated old building on the hillside above Chexbres. Rooms have modern decor and some are very compact. Bed is comfortable. Modest tea and coffee facilities are available. Rooms on the rear and side of hotel are subject to significant road noise from the motorway above. There is no air conditioning and room can get extremely warm if windows to balcony are not openned ...when open road noise is unbearable. Modern TV with stations offering every conceivable language from Spanish to Turkish ...but no English. Breakfast expensive at 18CHF per head ...no evening meal.
If you stay here, definitely choose a room with a balcony because it will be 100% worth the extra cost. The side to side view is UNBELIEVABLE and the best I have ever seen, both in daytime and nighttime. My boyfriend and I spent hours on the balcony absorbing the beauty. From the left, there are villages, mountains, a direct view between some Prealps which on a clear day reveals peaks beyond peaks. Below there are terraced vineyards and characteristic houses. On the right, more villages and peaks. And of course, there is Lake Geneva from each angle. At night, the villages on both sides of the lake reveal themselves when lit up. There is a breakfast for an extra cost which includes an assortment of pastries, fruits and meats. There was a wedding one of the nights I stayed here and it seemed like the hotel typically hosts large events and catering. Their restaurant was not open but Lausanne is only a 15 minute drive away and has many options.
Excellent Duvet and real 4 star - superbe bed and shower. Great rate for last minute deal. Offer BBQ evenings on certain evenings at 62 SFR / person. The evening receptionist ( a French lady) was excellent. She introduced us to the area, breakfast and some historical sites to visit. Our rooms faced the Geneva Lake, children had their own balcony. In midst of vineyards planted on terraces, the view was spectacular facing the French Alps opposite. Hotel is a bit hidden - a hidden gem. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and a full buffet spread with various fresh coffee options. The restaurant terrace is a great spot enjoy the area and lake tranquility ... A great place to recharge once batteries. WiFi worked well on lower floors, but not on top.
