Lovely hotel, excellent location very near the train station and shops, plus the room was very spacious with a comfortable big bed. Not to mention the breathtaking view from our balcony. Would definitely return, and would recommend to anyone to book a room with a view of the lake, you won't regret it!

Great location, central and at the same time right on the lake. The hotel itself is in the old style and some of the rooms are historic. The hotel offers parking, but it is limited, so be sure to book it in advance. The rooms on the lake side are also much quieter than those facing the other side. The service was ok when we checked in

We stayed here 03 Nights, My friends and I found this Hotel is best for Montreux. Because it had value of money, stay enjoyed and room quality. Will suggest if you want to enjoy Montreux stay, you must choose this Hotel. Thank You :)

Spent 3 nights here, room with a balcony so stunning views over the lake. As others have mentioned, rooms are tired and bathrooms could definitely do with updating. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the old time glamour and the staff were superb. Breakfast had much to offer and the hotel was central to where I wished to visit.

First impression, amazing huge lobby that I think would look perfect in the 18th century but horrible and horrifying to us millenals. The doorkey was severely outdated and they really need to switch to a better door security like a card key or something similar. The hallway to my room looks like something that came out of the set of Insidius movies. The room was just okay and still, very outdated décor. Keeping the classic feel is a very good option but you have to refurnish or restore everything to at least match the standards set by your competitors! I'm sure they dont use 3 deflated baloons for wall decoration!

My wife and I stayed 2 nights and found the hotel and room to be a little tired and dated. The room was clean and very spacious. We were fortunate to have a room with a small balcony overlooking Lac Leman. The bathroom was large and clean but again it really needs to be updated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is perfectly situated to visit the Xmas markets which you can walk to. It’s also possible to walk to the train station. With suit cases we chose to take a 5 min taxi ride to the hotel after arriving by train. We did not use the restaurant for breakfast (CHF26 pp) or for dinner but preferred to dine out locally. While the Eden hotel is well situated on the lake, we would probably look for another hotel that was a little more modern/updated if we were to return for another visit to Montreux.

The location of the hotel is perfect - a short walk to the train station, right on the lake (with beautiful views from the breakfast room), and a lovely walk along to the Chateau de Chillon. The breakfast room is lovely and there's plenty of nice food. Equally the reception area is also well cared for and nice, and the staff can't be faulted - they were great; definitely the best part of the hotel! However, the rooms are small-ish, tired and in need of renovating. The furniture is serviceable but old, and the bathroom needs redoing (there were cracks in the sink and patched over holes in the tiling). But it was comfortable and clean. We had a room that was overlooking the shops though, so definitely request a lake view!

Incredibly overrated. From the location, building dimensions and star rating of the hotel you would imagine a phenomenal stay. However, the reality was way below the expectations. Photos are incredibly misleading. For which you can not expect a room like those in the photos - room 121 was certainly no similar. The Belle Epoque/ old fashion look could have been charming if it wasnt old and unkept - almost felt like staying at your old great grandparent’s home from a different century. The bathroom was again disappointing, with a shower than was worse than the one I had maybe seen on a Summer Camp 20 years ago - fabric curtain included. 2017. 4 star hotel. £188 was the total charge for a room that was priced as £175 - apparently there are some city taxes to be paid on top? I would have paid £70 thinking I had put a generous price to a tatty hotel that had nothing but good location and a couple of polite and professional front desk associates handling my disappointment within 5 minutes of arriving to my room - thank you both. Thank you also for the complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, this again was not properly run or managed and it fell really unorganised despite of investing 23CHF per guest towards it. As I said, I really do not mean to be your difficult guest. I am frustrated with myself as my experience was not as dreamy as I had imagined it to be due to false, misleading online advertising.

One night stay during a Switzerland tour from Singapore. Old hotel, old room but set on beautiful lake. Delicious breakfast and a nice walk around the lake and take many beautiful photos. A very cooling autumn morning.

Writing on behalf of my sister. Her room was entered at night during her sleep and significant amount of cash was stolen. She reported to hotel as well as Police but seemed hotel was not helpful resolving the issue nor trying to help find out the incident. Someone entered the room during the night and took the cash. This not only showed no responsibility from the hotel in regards to stolen valuables, but also the security measure this hotel offer to the guest. Other guests' room was also being tampered with but luckily the guest was able to detect the enter and thus prevented any stolen incident. We would like the hotel to show more effort in resolving the issue and try to find out with any kind of security surveillance camera record if there are any.
