Eurotel Montreux4.0 out of 5.0

We planned our 3 days visit to the Geneva Lake and chose to have Montreux as our based. Eurotel was selected first based on it proximity to the train station. To our surprised the hotel is also close by the lake side and all rooms are having the lake view. We were allocated a corner room which have an added advantage of having more or less 180 degree lake view with a good side balcony. However I have to say that we did book a deluxe room and ask for high floor. We felt it was worth to pay the extra for the view. The reception staff are nice and helpful even those we did not get our room until 3:00pm.
I've been several times hosted in Eurotel Riviera Montreux, and have been always treated as the most important guest (treatment that I've gladly seen being done to all other guests). The staff is amazing and always ready do help. I'd the pleasure to meet all of them and cannot truly say any bad words. Breakfast is quite nice, with a lot of variety. The hotel is always trying to improve in therms of activities (new indoor and outdoor bars) and environment (with some "face lifting s" along the way).
The beauty of this hotel, combined with the service makes staying at the Eurotel Extraordinary! The hotel has bicycles you borrow. Take a ride around the lake and surrounding town. Makes taking in the beauty of this town super easy.
We arrived hot and tired having ridden over the Alps, the reception staff were great and showed us where to park the bikes in the underground secure parking (although this does cost extra). We then checked into our room..upgraded as well so we had views both ways across the lake. We ate in the restaurant which was a pleasant outdoor eating area and cashed in our two complementary drink vouchers. The room was comfortable and roomy and very clean.
I know. It's Switzerland, it's Montreux and therefore everything is quite expensive. I accept it and for this I ask for an high rate service. My room was in 16th floor with a hell of a view. And that's the only reason I can suggest this hotel. But otherwise there were too many lacks. No space for the car in the garage. Room dirty. Bathroom really really small. Not shades or dark or double curtains, only a pale kind that means a very low protection from the night lights. For a 4 star hotel is absolutely overrated.
I was very pleased with our room, it had a balcony with a view of the lake as promised. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very accomodating. I arrived before check in and was allowed to park my car in the garage so I could go and check out the city. It was worth the $25 francs for the garage there isn't any free parking around and it would have cost much more. I would recommend this hotel which was located right on the water with fantastic views!
Not a very good welcome! Facilities were excellent I.e. Room/bathroom but I would never go back. Restaurant at lunch time was appalling - we walked out as no one came to give us menus or take our orders. It was no better in the evening when we sat with empty plates - no one came to clear or ask if we wanted desserts or coffee. Maids were knocking on our door at 9 Lthough the checkout time was 12.
We had a nice view of Lake Geneva from our 2nd floor room and found the staff to be very friendly and eager to help and give recommendations for restaurants! The rooms are spacious and modern with a nice updated bathroom with tub/Shower combo, very comfortable beds as well! There is a coffee pot for coffee or tea that is provided, a safe, a mini fridge, and an iron and ironing board. We also had a balcony! There was also ample storage with a large closet and lots of open cubbies and a small sitting area with a small table and chairs and a large counter area with a desk! This hotel has a large and comfortable lobby with a large screen TV and there is always water and juices to help yourself. An adequate breakfast is included. The location is perfect to stroll the path and enjoy the views along Lake Geneva or Can take the main road- both offering small shops and nice restaurants! There is a small gym on premises as well as a nice deck with lounge chairs for relaxing! It was a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend e d this hotel!
Not a pretty building from the outside, but a great location with a lovely view of Lake Geneva. Apparently all rooms have a view of the lake. Our room was very nice and modern, with a charming balcony with a table and two chairs. The bathroom was a bit of a surprise - it seemed as if they had forgotten to include that in the renovation as it looked like something out of the 70s, with pink tiles and rather old hardware (shower, toilet, sink). The air condition works really well, it was almost icy in the room. The gym is small but functional and leads to the sauna with a steam room. Interestingly, here the code is that you have to wear swim clothes in the sauna/steam room, when you are usually required to go naked. Maybe because the gym with its entrance into the sauna area is visible from the parking lot outside. The hotel´s parking garage can be booked in advance (which we didn´t know, but it was no problem to get a space upon arrival). The description of how to get to the garage was confusing ("drive past the hotel and then come back to the hotel"); what they meant was drive past the hotel, turn right into the parking lot, and then make a right-hand U-turn into the underground garage. On the side where the gym is there is also the access to the sun deck, which was completely deserted despite the nice weather. There are several sun loungers with towels provided for you, with a great view of the lake.
Stayed here the last week of July for 4 nights during a multi centre holiday in Switzerland. The hotel was built in 1967 and of the period i.e tall triangular block but has been substantially modernised & refurbished. It is well located on the shores of the lake with most rooms having a lake view. We were on the 3rd floor and our small balcony looked across to the Paddle Steamer stop. The room itself was a good size & well equipped with good storage. My only complaint with the room was that whilst storage was good there were no drawers and the balcony was very bijou. The breakfast room was good but on the small side for the number of rooms and so was busy & not the quiet relaxed environment in some hotels. There is a separate dining room with outside seating. This was good as was the food but they could have done with more staff, they were excellent but clearly under pressure. The staff were all excellent and so always difficult to single people out but I will mention Eduardo in reception area and Hugo in the dining room. Both were outstanding.
