We stayed for one week. The location is perfect for visiting this area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a room with a lake view. Large trees obstruct most of the view but you can see the lake! The ferries are a five minute walk. We walked to the railway station in fifteen minutes.
We loved this hotel, lovelly staff, gracious charming building, close to places of interest. Unpretentious accomodation that was values for money. A short walk to resturants and places of interest in this beautiful old city.
I stayed here for a week and it really is a good value medium sized hotel in a fantastic location. Desenzano is the largest of the small towns and villages on Lake Garda and has a multitude of restaurants and shops to suit all budgets. There is an incredible street market every Tuesday with traders coming from miles around. The hotel itself is situated on the waterfront and is a three minute walk away from the boat terminal which offers affordable trips all over the lake throughout the day. The beautiful city of Verona is only a half hour away by train. The hotel isn't flashy but it's clean and spacious with very helpful and friendly staff.
Worse hotel I've ever stayed in , no air conditioning , no internet in room , shower cubicle leaked and drenched bathroom floor , when it rained the window let in even when shut , tried to purchase a drink at the bar they had no wine, breakfast was worse I've ever seen , the only good thing about this hotel is the location and friendly staff.
Clean tidy room with excellent shower in waterfront hotel on lake Garda. Chosen because the Mille Miglia passes the front door, which was especially convenient whilst watching in the rain!. Never had time to try the breakfast. Hotel staff friendly and advised best places to park and best places to eat.
Lovely location, very warm inside (we visited on winter), a bit smelling like old place, but the rest all good. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and the soap was changed also. Said had the wifi free but it did not worked in our room. So make sure you ask before if it has coverage or not.
This hotel is central for shops, restaurants etc. very good for boat terminal so we chose it as wished to have boat trips to different places. The reception staff were polite knowledgeable and very helpful. Our room was shabby, holes in the curtains and bedding. The air con. Was totally ineffective and our terrace faced a wall and was covered in bird droppings. Thankfully we were out and about and so didn't use it. The breakfast was meager and the lady in charge very unhelpful. I asked for croissant but she gabbled in Italian and pointed to her watch. The few pieces of fruit were there for seven days, neither replenished, nor removed. On our last morning there were some grapes. The machine for juice showed oranges and lemons on the front. I had some orange juice which was red and tasted like sherbet. It didn't taste like orange. I had some crackers and a couple of cheese triangles. Nothing hot on offer although on two occasions I managed to get a croissant.
We had a great view of the lake from our room and the hotel is close to ferries, cafes, shops and restaurants. All the staff were friendly and helpful and advised us where to park for free nearby. However the decor is a little tired and the rooms require some maintenance. One of our bedside lights did not work and the towel rail came off the wall during our stay. A plastic stool in the bathroom also collapsed when sat on. I would not expect these issues in a four star hotel. However, the room was clean with a good supply of towels and toiletries.
Booked here for our Lake Garda visit of our travelling and was really pleased with the hotel. Basic room which was cleaned daily, wifi and even a mini bar. Reception were helpful too. Close to the promenade of Desenzano and Sirmione, which is worth a visit by bus.
Monica on reception deserves a mention. Extremely helpful, even giving us her free parking space, a few streets away when she finished her shift, and we left our hire car here for the time we stayed. The vouchers she gave us were great and advice on where to visit on the Lake was spot on. It is in such a great location. Rooms were clean and basic, we were a little disappointed that there wasn't a cooked breakfast, but the Italian lady made us so welcome and tried to feed us more cake than we wanted. I wouldnt class this hotel as a 4 star. This may have been reflected in the price we paid, for our tour of northern Italy.
