Very kind and willing staff, super service, stunning views over the Lake and fresh breakfast offer. Good old fashioned service and attention to detail. Views across the horizon on 3 December were outstanding, best of CH Germany and Austria! Nothing can beat this if you are a firework display enthusiast!
Well it can not get better than this in Lindau. The location is tremendous with suites looking into the Bodensee and the Austrian and Swiss side. The breakfast is definitely the highlight. The lobby is small but really pretty and glows like a pearl in sunlight.
Although the building is old, it is very well maintained. Excellent location. Everything is clean and tidy. Must try their breakfast. It is not overwhelming you with different items of food but all foods are fresh and good quality.
This is a somewhat chintzy hotel but with large, comfortable rooms. The location is excellent on the waterfront, but when we stayed it was spoiled by a fair and the view out of our window was of a ferris wheel. unfortunately. The parking was easy with an employee parking the car for us. Not a cheap stay -breakfast was good.
Eat lunch out on the patio overlooking the water. The food was good, the view was great, the town is beautiful It was our last day of traveling and we wanted to pick up some souvenirs before heading home. There was shopping, but it was more for the locals. We couldn't find a souvenir shop anywhere near the hotel.
On our second leg of Bavarian travel by train ... we arrived at lindau station and my husband quickly started looking to get a taxi to take us to the hotel just as I looked at the building across from the station to see that it was our hotel !! Simply perfect location on the waterfront with stunning views of Lake Constance and of the gorgeous promenade. Impressive but very small entrance to the hotel gorgeous flower decorations through out with the most beautiful yellow decor of wall paper and furniture. We had our rooms with beautiful balconies opening onto to the Lake views. Nice size rooms not too big bathrooms but enough space all over. Food was very nice in the cafe and in their fine dining restaurant. Service in the cafe was very efficient but I think the fine dining restaurant staff can certainly do with some training . Breakfast was ok we had to send our eggs back about 4 times but then gave up in the end the chef apparently could not make an omelette......The dining room has the lovely views of the lake. We would love to revisit this town and stay in this hotel only maybe for the Christmas markets !
I cannot complement this hotel enough the staff was warm and wonderful very helpful beautiful restaurant beautiful night club gorgeous rooms great location close to good shopping lots to do and see highly recommend this hotel any time in Munich
Reserved this hotel at the last minute, were told there were no more standard rooms available but we could have... a junior suite with terrace overlooking the lake. That clinched the deal: no discount, it was very expensive but the room was lovely, it truly felt like home, and the terrace was the best ever. although right above the very busy lakeshore walkway, we were not bothered by any noise. The two pools - indoor and outdoor - are fabulous, with wonderful views over the lake to the Swiss side and mountains. Staff competent (front desk a little bossy but OK), breakfast very good as you would expect in such an establishment. We had a good fish dinner at the outdoors restaurant next door, in the "sister hotel" Seegarten. Probably the prices are more reasonable if it isn't in full tourist season.
A lovely hotel at a really super location (promenade, station and harbour just a few steps away) with some minor negative details. (not 5-Star hotel) - Reception: All the ladies at the reception were exceptionally helpful and friendly at all times (what a pleasure) - Room: Big comfortable room as per the advertisement; unfortunately we found the plasticised mattress protection very uncomfortable – hot, squeaky and slippery so that the under-sheet which was not a fixed under-sheet became very rumpled). - Restaurant: Dined at the hotel upon arrival. We (4 of us) were more than satisfied with the presentation and taste (salad dressing was absolutely delicious). However, the staff in the restaurant were not really up to scratch; training really seemed to be lacking (e.g. could have been more friendly/welcoming upon our arrival; reaching over the table to serve and arriving with the main course and helplessly standing there not knowing where to place it as they hadn’t cleared the first course dishes away). - Breakfast buffet was very generous but here too, with the exception of one server on the 2nd day, found the staff lacking and didn’t really feel welcome. - Pools and Sauna: Lovely pool and Sauna area. We requested and was granted earlier entry into the Sauna (usually only opens at 4). - Café & Bar didn’t appeal at all and were served after dinner drinks in the beautiful and comfortable lounge and were the only Hotel guests there on both occasions - Enjoyed a facial and the beautician was very professional and made me feel comfortable and at ease.
Lindau im Bodensee is a small town with a medieval look beautifully situated on an island in the lake. The hotel is ideally positioned with a fine view of the harbour and the lake beyond. The same family has run the place since the 1850's and it shows in the perfection of the traditional décor and service. We stayed one night there on our way from Weimar to Italy and were sorry to leave. There is every facility including a swimming pool, a choice of restaurants (the same management also owns two further hotels joined on to the hotel) and a car park, essential given the absence of on-street parking. The room with lake view was very comfortable, and the restaurant produced an excellent meal. We intend to return.
