Lovely clean and well looked after hotel. Reception Staff friendly and helpful but restaurant team seem inexperienced and disorganised. Food was pretty awful at dinner but breakfast buffet was ok with great coffee machine. Well stocked bar with fair prices but lacked sufficient seating for us to sit and have a drink as a group. Room was cleaned daily and always felt immaculate. It is a long way from the lake and hustle and bustle of the town - at least 25 minute walk although I think you can jump the train 1 stop, the local area surrounding the hotel is very residential and feels a little unsavoury; hence we didn't feel comfortable walking around at night. Besides there was nowhere to go for a drink or dinner so pointless really. Shame because if it was a little nearer to town it would be a decent place to stay.
everything is perfect, very friendly hosts, clean rooms very good breakfast, very good location, great excursion, very nice and quiet como even in the evening, no problem shopping and going to the restaurant.
I stayed in here for 2 nights and i immensely enjoyed my stay. This due to the excellent staff and the hotel which are always willing to help with a smile. The room was also a highlight very big rooms with a walk in wardrobe. everything very clean and looks beautiful. The breakfast is good with a wide selection available. The rooftop pool area is a added bonus with a spectacular view. The only negative thing is its slightly far from the town however for me it wasn't to much of a problem as i enjoying walking around and exploring the area.lovely hotel and lovely staff I would definitely come back!!!
This hotel was very disappointing with no atmosphere and a very bland appearance. We came as part of a group and not made to feel welcome. The staff appeared to scowl when we spoke to them. One morning we had to leave at 7am and they would only open the breakfast room at 6:45am even though we did not want a cooked breakfast. On the first day the coffee machine was out of coffee and we had to complain about it before more coffee was put in. There was no choice for the evening meal 1starter, 1 main and 1 desert. This might be because we were a group of 45 but we had a choice in our first hotel of the trip. Due to this after the first night most of the group walked into Como to eat, a 15 minute walk. The "bar" area seems to be an afterthought right in the reception area and not well stocked. For a hotel with lots of rooms expecting lots of people there were only 4 stools and 2 tables available. The bedroom was very clean but the beds and the pillows were very hard and were uncomfortable to sleep in. Although there was a chair in the room because of the feel of the place you did not want to stay there. The plug in the sink broke as soon as I used it. I left it out so that the cleaner can fix it. When we came back to the room in the evening it appeared to have been fixed until I tried to use it when it broke again!
Booked this hotel at very short notice. We were welcomed by Liza who checked us in and informed us of all the amenities available to us. Our room 455 was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. The lake front is about a 20 minute stroll as in the description. The roof terrace and pool is a lovely place to relax. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Special thanks to Liza would let me borrow her personal phone charger !!!
Our family of five, including a lively granddaughter really enjoyed our holiday in Lake Como and our stay in this extremely efficient, well run hotel. All staff were very friendly and personable. Reception staff at front desk , in particular ,very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area. We have travelled extensively but rarely encountered staff as welcoming and organised as Liza, Kristina and Elena. Rooms are spacious, clean and include a fridge and safe. Breakfast was more than ample for our requirements and staff here also very accommodating and pleasant.Hotel pool well-kept bright and a relief to use after a day's sightseeing. Straightforward ten minute walk to the old town and then an interesting further fifteen to the lake shore . Large supermarket just around the corner. Suffice to state that we are returning to Lake Como next year and have already re- booked Hotel Como
Really lovely room, super clean, roof top pool, really friendly staff. 15 minutes walk from Centre is not too bad. There is free bike rental but the bikes do need a bit of maintenance. Booking.com quoted £12 a day breakfast each but the hotel charged us 5 euros each so not sure what happened there. Overall I would stay again and recommend to friends.
We visited Lake Como and stayed at the Hotel Como for 5 days. It was a wonderful trip...Como is a lovely place..fashionable and historical. Plenty to do...from walks..treks..ferry cruises on the Lake and train journies into Milan..a beautiful city. Hotel Como is well placed and was only refurbished in 2016. Modern interior, well appointed bedrooms..a roof top pool and bar. The breakfast at 5 euro is fantastic and plenty to choose from. Just around the corner from the hotel is a supermarket...very handy. Its a 20 minute walk down to the waterfront through the town and its history. We thoroughly recommend a visit to this part of Italy...fantastic!
We have stayed here a couple of times over the past few years. The hotel is a good 10 minutes walk from centro storico and probably 20 minutes from the the lake. The hotel does the basics well. Rooms are a good size, well equipped and clean. Air conditioning is efficient (crucial in summer - it hit 39c during our stay). Breakfast is plentiful and good quality with a good choice of foods on offer. Service is attentive and helpful. The pool on the hotel roof is a real bonus - small but affording spectacular views. There is also a roof top bar with sun loungers as well as shaded seating. Parking is a challenge (the hotel is in a residential area) but there are some spaces in front of the hotel and public car parking nearby. There is a tiny underground car park below the hotel which can take 6 or 7 vehicles but is tight - very tight. Como is not cheap at any time of year but prices are competitive. This is not a glamorous hotel nor is it blessed by old world charm. It is what it is. It is a modern, small, four star hotel in a highly desirable tourist destination which keeps prices competitive by being just outside the centro storico.
Stayed in hotel one night in July. Good and clean hotel, walking distance (15-30 minutes) to the old town and to the lake side. If you have a car there are free parking outside the hotel. The pool at the roof is nice extra. The breakfast ok.
