Awesome experience, the good, the bad and the ugly.
First the good. We loved that we were able to pick up the van early and drop it off late. Having a few extra hours was priceless. Also they worked with our schedule. Since we traveled to and from town by bus, it was nice that they were flexible and dropped us off at the bus stop. Overall, Vanessa was pretty spacious with built in shelves that made it easy for storing things. Although exploring the north shore in Vanessa was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I would highly recommend it, there are a few things you should know. #1 Vanessa comes with some little creepy crawly friends that come out at night and run when the light hits them. Camping comes with bugs right? #2 Vanessa photographs well. Her exterior looks way better in the photos than she does in person. As long as your not too vain to drive a rusty squeaky head-turner down the road, you’ll be just fine. Lastly, #3 I would recommend that you reserve a campsite. We loved Malaekahana Beach Campground. We didn’t reserve anything before we came because we had this romantic idea of just pulling over along the coast, but there are literally signs everywhere that say no camping.
