This property is located right on the water so ALL of the rooms have an ocean view. There are wonderful amenities like a pool, cabana and grill. Everything was SO WONDERFUL!! My husband and I will DEFINITELY stay here again!
The location was off the main highway so it was peaceful and easy to get to and from. The view was spectacular, but the beachfront was not good for swimming, you needed to walk down the beach a short distance. Overall it was great place to stay, the staff was terrific and I would do it again.

The sound of the waves crashing against the rock wall below your condo window will melt your stress away. You could literary drop a towel out the window and it would land in the water. The Maui Kai condo we stayed in had a bit dated décor, but it was in great condition and had everything we needed in the kitchen. At night we would leave the lanai doors open and sleep with the ocean breeze and the waves crashing us to sleep. Sooooo peaceful. The staff at the Maui Kai are super friendly and attentive. We had an issue with the WiFi and a dock lock that was sticking and the maintenance staff was super attentive and fixed the issues promptly with no fuss. With the building so close to the water, the pool is on the backside of the property. The pool, hot tub, grill area and picnic benches are all first rate....but if you want the $15 poolside drink service you may want to consider another rental. …..but if you are going to spend the days at the beach and exploring Maui you won't miss the fancy smanzy pool area.
Having a kitchen was a must. Although the beach was eroding, you still have an ocean view. I couldn’t hear anything through the walls, very quiet.

Very dirty and old. Luckily they refunded me. It’s not even a hotel and paying for the hotel price. This has to be one of the most disappointing first impression ever. Stay away.
Nice, clean, and remodeled unit. Not a hotel. Good for someone on a budget. I certainly missed the resort feel with large pools, restaurants, and shops. The place is nice to live in but have to go out of the property for everything else.
Waves crashing below your Lanai drowned out any other noise and this was a low key, quiet place anyway. We stayed in 803, a standard studio that is showing its age but is clean and has everything you need. Small but adequate pool and hot tub in the back, again very quiet. Not all the noise and people you see at the larger resorts. Draw backs: no beach, but your just a short walk on the boardwalk away. The mattress in this room is way past it’s useful life. Woke before 5am every morning with sore back. I mentioned this in my arrival review and staff immediately left me a message to try to rectify. I declined to follow up to find out how they would, but good on them for being so responsive. We would book here again but not this room just because of the bed.
From check-in to check-out the hotel was a pleasure to stay at from the office staff to the housekeepers, everyone went out of their way to make sure my experience with them was a good one i don't need all the bells and whistles of a huge resort so the Maui Kai was perfect for me i would certainly goback and will reccomend it to anybody who asks about a good place to stay
I couldn't choose the room I wanted since I didn't book through the Maui Kai website, according to the front desk. They told me the rates were higher on the website, therefore you can pick your room. Funny thing is I paid the exact same rate on the website but was still given a room that i didn't want. Room was dirty, outdated, we had an issue with peeping toms peeking over into our private lanai. By far the worst hotel in Maui.
Maui Kai places you within 3 miles (5 km) of popular attractions like Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village. This 50-room condo building welcomes guests with in-room amenities like kitchens, iPod docks, and dining areas.
Each condo is individually decorated and features a kitchen and space to spread out with a dining area and a sitting area. Guests can expect to find free wired internet and a 32-inch flat-screen TV with cable channels and a DVD player. The bathroom offers hair dryers and free toiletries. We are located about a 3 to 5 minute to the boardwalk which goes all the way down to the Sheraton with frequent access to a sandy beach. We hope to see you again in the future. Mahalo

Aloha; I am so sorry you found the unit that you checked into unsatisfactory. We pride ourselves on making sure that each of our units are clean and ready for our guests.. We are an older condominium property that is very well taken care of not a hotel. The prices are very fair and competitive for units that are less than 50 feet from the ocean. We have current pictures on the site and would have happily shared other available units with you if you had just notified us of any of your problems prior to leaving.
