South Coast Highway

The Coast Highway is the major road through Laguna Beach, and hotels sit on both the north and south sides of the highway. The South Coast Highway is home to some of the top hotels and luxury accommodations for travelers. The Best Western Spa Hotel is more luxurious and elegant than some of the other hotels in the chain. The rooms start at $109 per night and feature LCD televisions, whirlpool spas, refrigerators, and coffeemakers. The rooftop terrace offers phenomenal views of the ocean, and the hotel has a private courtyard with a heated swimming pool. The Holiday Inn on the South Coast Highway has rooms for $126 per night, and it is within walking distance of the Pageant of the Masters, which is the home of the annual Sawdust Arts & Crafts Festival and many other events that bring travelers from around the world to Laguna Beach. Doheny State Beach, Newport Beach, and Dana Point Harbor are also near the hotel. The on-site Blue Laguna Restaurant & Bar offers delicious food in a festive environment, and the restaurants and shops of South Coast Plaza are just a short drive away.

North Coast Highway

On the opposite end of Laguna Beach is the North Coast Highway, which is home to some of the more elegant hotels in the area. One of the best is the Laguna Cliffs Inn, where rooms start at $159 per night. The hotel provides guests with a number of free amenities, including parking, umbrellas, beach chairs, wireless Internet access, and a welcome basket. This small hotel has just 36 rooms, but all of those rooms have views of the swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean. The hotel sits approximately one block from Laguna Beach, and it is just a few blocks from the heart of the city. A dry sauna, a large courtyard, and a whirlpool are all available for guests. Some travelers might prefer the Art Hotel, where rooms start at less than $100 per night. The hotel is within walking distance of Crescent Bay Beach, which some claim is the best in the area. You can spend a day lounging on the beach, playing in the water, or trying your hand at some of the top water sports. All rooms have views of the ocean, a coffeemaker, a microwave, and a refrigerator, and many of the rooms feature unique paintings created by local artists.
