We visited Laem Pak Bia in December 2017. Spent four nights at the I Tara Resort & Spa. Ours was a bird watching trip. We had a great stay at the resort. The room was clean and simple. We had a room with a nice view overlooking the sea. No frills and nothing fancy. The staff was friendly and helped arrange transport to and from the birding sites. If you are looking for a private taxi to the birding sites, I would strongly recommend Mr Nut. He can be reached at +66 853730375. He speaks good English and knows how to engage you in a conversation. He is reliable, punctual and a safe, defensive driver. We really liked his service and engaged him for the ride from the resort to Bangkok airport.
chose this Hotel, as it was not too far a drive from Bangkok, and the previous reviews were OK. so here are my thoughts: Positives: Clean spacious rooms, and large bathroom Food was very good and tasty I thought breakfast was good pool and surrounding area very clean easy access to small beach area Not too far from public beach area and few beach restaurants Negative: The beach is not really for kids or able to sit on a little too much litter for my liking, wouldnt take one of the staff more than 5 mins just to wander down in the morning and remove the washed up bottles and plastic bags... make it look cleaner we will come back to this resort though
We have meeting conference many times here. It takes 2 hours drive from Bangkok. The hotel is not so big but it is lovely. There are room type and bungalows which very close to the sea. The room is clean and modernly equipped. All rooms have sea view. The foods here are quite spicy but delicious. I recommend improvement of the fitness room. By the way, the mosquitoes are common here and in this nearby area.
I've stayed at this place several times before. The rooms are great. Comfortable, clean, spacious and with a sea view. A queen-sized bed and a hot shower add to the comfort and the kettle with tea and coffee are the icing on the cake. There's no doubt about it, the hotel and the location are brilliant if you just want a quiet place on the beach, or are birding. There is nothing else around, town-wise, except Phetchaburi which is a 40 minute drive or so, and Cha-Am a long way south. The gardens and pool area are well kept and very clean. The staff are very well trained, polite and courteous and the reception staff speak English. Check-in is always easy and quick and there is a friendly atmosphere. Those are the positives. The less than positive is the food. Breakfast is okay. There's a range of cereals and eggs, with tea and coffee and toast etc, fruit, and a choice of other tastes from a menu. The evening meals are less appealing. The menu is limited and the portions small. Some were nice, but some were not very. An omelette one night was dripping with grease which gave me a bad stomach that night. However, for the five days we stayed, it was manageable. Mosquitos are also a problem in the hotel and the restaurant and rooms do have some which have excellent radar and home in on humans as soon as they appear. I carried an electric anti-mosquito tennis racket and it helped a great deal. This place is a good hotel to stay at, no question about that. It would be a great hotel if they got a better chef and a wider range of food on the menu and got rid of the mosquitos once and for all. I keep mentioning both, but nothing improves. A pity. Would I recommend it? Certainly. The last points are minor when compared against the location and the friendly staff.
I Tara resort is a great sea view / Beach location called “Laem Pak Bia Beach (First Sand Beach)” On Phetchaburi province that’s not too far from Bangkok. This resort is very clean and quite you can feel peace, by clean beach view with nice windy and wave sound. A swimming pool that when you swim you can see a beach which is very relaxation. Resort have a restaurant with a good value and good taste! I had order “Kao Kra pow Moo” Mince pork with thai basil ; one of my favorite thai food. This dish is super tasty not spicy but flavor is rich good to have with Thai rice I love this menu. Another dish I order “Phad thai Goong sod” Chantaburi noodles stir fry with Thai sauce and shrimps. Surprisingly, it is super tasty omg! So yummy! End up with my dinner with “Pork Porridge” this on is good either, Pork is ferment with thai herbs so its tasty and the soup is mellow top up with fry garlic thai style, YUM! The thing I really love is when you go for vacation, you don’t need to go out many place to find something to eat. If you get a good place and value price of restaurant not too expensive, with a nice view & friendly staff. You can really relax your own vacation day! Breakfast at I TARA is super worthy, in the morning you can go to the restaurant staff will give you a menu shortlist that you can order many kind of food with UNLIMITED until you full! Moreover, every menu they made it warm and new Grilled ham cheese sandwhich serve with salad. Pork fried rice very tasty! Full flavor and very huge dish! (You can choose a choice of Chicken fried rice too) Pork Porridge Pork is ferment with thai herbs so its tasty and the soup is mellow top up with fry garlic thai style as I mention up there. Bedroom was ok, clean bed is soft/ air-conditioned is cool / frees still water / hairdryer is available. Bathroom has shampoo / soap / no toothbrush and toothpaste. Ps. Everyroom have a terrace
Nice and clean resort, with easy access to the beach. A very affordable 4 star resort located in a quite area not far from Bangkok. Rooms are very large and comfortable with full amenities. In my opinion Hotel needs to improve the service especially for foreigner customer,, it should be better add some western food at buffet breakfast,
The hotel is nice and clean with is peaceful sea view and lovely surrounding. There are many big trees and flowers. The room is nice with big bathroom. The dinner menu is so so, but free breakfast is good with diversity of food. The services are nice and friendly.
The Haad Chao Samran area is popular with mainly lower income day trippers and coach tours, so resorts normally go for the simple, clean approach. I-Tara is a bit more upmarket and offers big, comfortable, well-furnished en suite rooms around a nicely tended garden and pool. There's a small private beach but the water's a little muddy. Breakfast is a buffet with a reasonable range of Asian and western food. We stopped overnight on the way south from Bangkok and will do so again, as it's very good value compared with places of similar quality in Cha Am or Hua Hin Note: in the wet season be careful to keep your door and windows shut as there are mosquitos in that area. If not you may need to go and buy some insect spray in the shops at Haad Chao Samran!
And I thought people only suffer the vertigo effect when flying an airplane. Their vast pool lined against the backdrop of the shoreline and sunny skies so inviting, I went for a swim. The pool was a swimming pool blue and truly just that blue, no lines no markings. So, I had no idea which direction I was facing when I attempted to swim its length, and crash myself into the equally blue wall as it was impossible to judge the distance from the edge underwater. Well that aside, the Deluxe Room I had was one of the most pleasant and clean rooms I had staying in multiple hotels this province. This hotel was priced right for the excellent conditions of the rooms and its furnishing, and also for the spectacular view of the sea. It was a balance between seclusion and totally being left neglected compared to the smaller establishments this area (I had stayed in resorts which I was totally left alone on weekdays). The only joke I saw was the gym, 2 equipments in a glass room the size of a toilet but never mind that. I had wanted massage at the spa, and was told “no doctor was in”, but again never mind that. Breakfast was hearty, a buffet line. But I did wonder if I was the only one that stayed, will there be a buffet. There was a seminar going on and so it was worth the hotel to put out the spread. It was me business trip, it was just a short drive to town and I did not want to stay in town. I want to relax after work by the beach in comfort and this hotel satisfied that. I will be back again so this means it was worth me stay. It would be highly desirable to get one of their ocean facing private villas up front, but that was way too pricy for what the resort, and my pocket, could offer.
We spend here 4 night at beach front villa. Lovely view :) Nice pool area! Beach is not good. Hotel is located far away from everything so you need to have own car. We were only customers in couple of days so there were (understandably) no buffet breakfast. In those days the breakfast was not so good. Hotel stuff was nice, but did speak only a very little english.
