Booked for a night at this hotel. The location is nice, close to all restaurants and shops. The hotel has benefit from renovations, so the place was ok. The room was very clean and comfortable, The breakfast was ok, but not more. The only thing why I did not rate 4 stars is the price. I found it a little pricy for what I got.
We stayed here when we were on our way to the beautiful Parc National du Fjord du Saguenay. It was very peaceful at this Comfort Inn. A quiet, little town. Friendly people. Very good for resting and the price isn't bad. I recommend it.
We stayed here while visiting family. It was very comfortable and clean. The room also included breakfast which was great. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to see family. There are restaurants and shops nearby so it's rather conveniently located.
If you ate visiting the Quebec Lac St-Jean area, wether is for pleasure or business, the Comfort Inn Alma is well located, clean and friendly service From there you can explore the north or south of the lake, or make your way down in the Saguenay region The only downfall of this establishment is the very tiny breakfast area, it get full fast and difficult to get around
Stayed for the night after a visit to St-Felicien boreal zoo. Small problems but nothing to worry about, such as magnetic key card not working at first but was fixed instantly. They have a beer bottle distributor (needs the front desk clerk control it because of 18 years old local restrictions) and the beer is $4 each what is ok for a last minute thirst. One of the two beds was uncomfortable as too hard and the other was ok (double room). Breakfast included was nice lots of choices and place was small and crowded, that is common for those breakfast included hotels. Staff was very nice and gentle.
I am a frequent guest at this hotel. About 8-10 stays per year. This hotel was renovated last year and they did do a nice job. The rooms are still a bit drafty, due to the poor insulation around the patio doors on the ground floor. My problem is the facility uses plastic card 'keys' as a security system to enter the building. They have not worked well for the past 24 months.... If your room is at the end of the hallway, you will have to return to the front door of the hotel once you've parked your car. I have complained to mgm't on numerous occasions and they just shrug their shoulders and reply this is a H.O. decision.... No intention of fixing the problem.... Shame on you, Comfort Inn for leaving your guests stranded outside in the dead of winter...... Not impressed.....
Staff friendly; snow not cleared very well outside patio; food good, but limited on what we could take; cleaning could have been better. I don't expect much, although it was good. Free wifi & good coffee :)
This hotel deserves a great review. The chain finally invested in this hotel and made a lot of improvement, from the breakfast area, the new carpet everywhere, new furniture in the rooms that includes a fridge. The beds were very comfortable and we all had a great night sleep. The hotel in on a Main Street with easy access to many restaurants. I recommend this hotel.
I am a member of the Choice Hotels, I never had to complaint about any room that I had rented over the years with this Group. Unfortunately, lately I rented at Comfort Inn in Alma, Québec, Canada. I was given the room 222 : that room carpet was filthy, totally covered with coffee stains and more, even between the 2 beds. Those stains have been there obviously for a while. I took several pictures to back my opinion. Upon my return home I complained by E-Mail to the management, but 15 days later not even an acknowledgment of receipt . Thus my review of today. Otherwise, this hotel is clean and the staff is very fine. Too small a breakfast room, but the continental breakfast is offered by the hotel so, no complaint. If you rent there, please yourself and ask to visit the room before you finalize the deal.
A great way to experience the beauty of Alma and the Lac St. Jean region without having to pay the top dollar is to stay at the Comfort Inn. The Hotel is next to a sports bar La Cage au Sport (The Sport's Cage) and flanked on the other side by McDonalds. Although some reviewers see this as a negative, if your an American traveling in French Canada (let's be honest) sometimes its just nice to have a hamburger. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly but not proficient in english. Don't expect much from the continental breakfast. Check out the Brasserie de Lac St.Jean (local brewery) its about 10 minutes away.
