The indoor water slides were very unique and the theme throughout the hotel was cute for the kids. The staff although indoctrinated with the typical "disney-type" of customer service...always smiling and polite, were unable to fix any real customer concerns. When we checked in (which we did an hour early), we were told at check-in that the hotel could not guarantee any early check in, just that the room would be ready at 4 P.M. This was not the case. At 4 P.M. our room wasn't ready and after my wife spoke with the front desk and I spoke with the front desk, the excuse we were given was that it was really busy and we needed to be patient. Completely unacceptable!!! We were only provided our room after my wife called the hotel's reservation line and after being transferred numerous times...we were finally provided our room... The hotel although cute for the kids is obviously mismanaged horribly. Additionally, during the evening around 6 P.M. the hot water went out, just when we are getting ready for New Years. The hotel halls are also not cleaned regularly and lugggage carts and linen seem to litter the floor for hours. Lastly, expect to empty your wallets. Everything in the lodge is extremly overpriced with the exception of the Barnwood resturant..although pricey was worth it. Recommendation: if you want to hit the waterslides (which is the best part of this location), get a day pass and save your money and stay someplace else.
