I was looking for an affordable, yet luxurious hotel to rest in after weeks of walking on The Way. I was happy with my choice. The hotel has a magnificently comfortable bed, a large bath tub and a lovely pool. Skip out for other dining options though, there is plenty in the area. The hotel buffet was overpriced and not much after the taste explosion I experienced walking across Spain. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from town Center, but that was no concern to me.
We loved this hotel, the bed was very comfy, room large and clean, good location just a ten minute walk from the old town and the breakfast was very good with a huge range of items to choose from. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner there.
For a 4-star hotel to have construction noise in the hotel from 8 a.m onward is bad. For the receptionist to tell you they have no idea when the infernal noise will stop is unacceptable. For a 4-star hotel to have such a bad internet connection that you would need 3-5 minutes to load an email box is, again, unacceptable. I was here for work so neither the noise nor the very slow internet connection did not help matters much. Nice room, very cold when I came and I took a while (about an hour) to warm up though. Clean room and bathroom, very nice breakfast options, except the supposedly clean glass had dry orange pulp pieces on it. The staff was nice, but sometimes there was no one at the reception who spoke English (I speak Spanish, but not everybody does and again, it is a 4-star hotel). I have every intention of coming back to Santiago on a holiday because it seems like a lovely city, but I will not stay here again.
The hotel was clean with standard services and installations overall. Same for breakfast and room service which are really basic... convenient location to explore the old Santiago but nothing much around the hotel. I had a problem with the air conditioning system which made my night a poor experience. Hopefully this was an isolated experience...
We spent two days here. It's a bit far from the airport and a good 15min walk from the city centre. However once you've spent the day walking around the town and seen the historical sites, it's great to come and enjoy some sun by the pool and go for a swim.
This hotel was booked for us during a tour group visit. A very clean and well maintained hotel. Modern decor and a nice swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff. Only a short 10 minutes walk to from the 'old town' and Cathedral area. Highly recommend it.
Beautiful hotel with a great shower! The staff are really friendly and helpful, though English is limited. Clean and a nice outdoor area for swimming and sunbathing with nice snacks that can be brought out. Breakfast is great too! Highly recommend
Was staying a couple of nights in Santiago de compostela. The Hotell is about 15 min walk to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral and a lot of nice eating areas. The service was excellent. The personnel was very attentive and helpful. The Hotell has a lot of nice relaxing areas and a swimming pool.
The NH Peregrino, despite not having our details and the contact being off duty, looked after us well and found us a room. It is a good 15 minutes walk to the Old Town along a fairly tired street and is 15 minutes from the station. The hotel seems to cater for English coachloads, the restaurant seemed surprised to see someone not in a group. There is a buffet dinner which offers outstanding value at €9.90 so the bus crowd from Dorking all seemed to get more than their money's worth. Rooms are not large, but are adequate and bathrooms are ok. Access is generally ok though there are steps between the lift and the dining room. There is free wifi in the rooms.
We intended to stay at the NH Hotel but they were full and recommended this Hesperia Peregrio as it is part of their group. We had a suite, be aware that all suites are right next to the lifts, the suite was spacious but you could hear noise near the lifts area. Also you can hear noise from above and next rooms easily. Takes about 15 minutes walk to the old town. Most receptionists were friendly and helpful, thought we also came across some unhelpful ones. It was not warm enough for us to try the swimming pool. Full range of toiletries, no kettle inside the room. Overall it is a ok hotel, reasonable price.
