We stayed just 1 night before flying home and this hotel was good value, less than 10 minutes walk to the old town via Rua San Pedro. They booked us a taxi for our early flight. The room itself was spotless and the beds comfortable. It has a small fridge and a safe. I'd stay here again and recommend to friends!
We stayed here one night while walking the camino. It is located close to the old city and not far from the bus station. The rooms were clean and big enough. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a cafe in the hotel but it is not far to walk to eat.
We stayed at the Hotel Ciudad de Compostela for four days and were well looked after and welcomed in a friendly manner. The breakfasts were good with a varied range of continental food. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern however the shower was small. We had a room that was on the roadside so was very noisy at times. There was no air conditioning so had a dilemma of hot and stuffy or noisy! It was a good walk into the centre of the city which included a flight of 76 steps. OK for us but could put some people off.
Hotel is nice , but their is hardly anything to eat and there are no restaurants very close. But staff was great--very helpful and spoke excellent English. Would stay here again, but would bring sandwich with me.
The hotel is located on a main thoroughfare just outside the old city. Agenda Lugo may not be particularly pretty but if you have a car it's great for getting just about everywhere, particularly the airport. Reception is endlessly welcoming and kind. Rooms are quite large with very comfortable beds and the bonus of a mini safe. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Breakfast was good value and served in a lovely dining room. The entire hotel was absolutely immaculate everywhere. There is a nice little bar and several comfortable seating areas. A 15-20 minute walk takes you to all the pleasures of the old city so is very convenient. Now to the parking. Well it's good value at €8 a night but it's not for the faint of heart or the large of car. It's down a very steep and winding ramp under the hotel. You have to go VERY slowly and carefully or you WILL damage the front and rear skirts of the car. If you have good nerves and a small car you'll be fine, but please go SLOWLY! Apparently there is free street parking a few streets away, but we did'nt try that. Excellent unlimited wifi too. Pretty quiet too despite being on the main road. The only criticism is the lack of a non-slip mat in the bath or grab handles . Overall, a very pleasant and affordable experience. Don't hesitate.
This is my second stay in this hotel but this time I stayed longer! Very friendly staff , clean and good value for money ! One note ! The breakfast buffet is too modest and not up to expectation there is a real need to upgrade the standard of this buffet especially as the hotel is not located at the centre and having a better breakfast buffet would have an asset.
I stayed three nights to round off my Camino. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful when I had trouble booking a flight. The only problem is that the hotel is a bit far out from the centre so you could miss out on the "feeling" of being part of the end of Camino experience and the area of the hotel is more of a local shopping area, which at other times and in other places I welcome. It is near the bus station, which gets you to the airport.
The hotel is a bit outside the town center but easy to reach by walk, we were looking for something not in the town center. The facilities are decent, room was clean and decent sized. The breakfast was poor and we request the room at the top floor so was not problem with the busy road. It is a decent hotel if you stay for a night and on the go.
We have just spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. We arrived at 9.30 am so our room obviously wasn't ready but the Receptionist was very helpful and put our bags in a locked room and gave us a map and off we went to start our break in this Beautiful town. We became very fit walking everywhere. The only part I dreaded was the climb up almost 80 steps into San Pedro but by the end of the 3 days it was good to know I had become fitter! There are plenty of taxis (including our great shout out to Santiago Taxis who I emailed previously and they were so prompt and helpful). The breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and lovely. Cereals, bread, cold meats, bacon and sausages, yoghurts, fruit, pastries, cakes and lovely hot coffee and other hot drinks and juices. Another amazing thing was the beautiful bathroom and most powerful shower I have ever had in a hotel which was so enjoyed after walking all over the beautiful time. We did not bother with room service but it was very reasonable and the bar/coffee shop downstairs was also great and not at all expensive. I would not hesitate in booking this hotel again. Ok, the only downside was that if you were awake you could hear people in the bathroom next door... but for how much our break cost us, it was a very small price to pay. The heating was lovely, it was not noisy at all and the safe deposit box was also a good "free" extra. Thank you Hotel Ciudad de Compostela... we will be back.
Everything was exceptional!! Me and my mum were very impressed by the very friendly and efficient members of staff! We stayed in room 503 on the 5th level facing the street in the last week of February. The bed was excellent, I slept extremely well and the room was spotless and dust free! We couldn't hear anything from the road when the windows were closed, but we did sleep with the window open one night and the noise didn't disturb our sleep at all. The heating was perfect! We used public transport so the hotel is perfectly located for people arriving by bus as it's a straight road down,10 minutes from the hotel. Breakfast was a perfect, serve yourself buffet with lots of choice. There's also a mini section serving hot food too. The mini safe is free and the mini bar is well stocked. The hotel also has a cafe at the front! I nearly forgot to mention that another positive that I have never seen in another hotel before, is that you can order takeaway food and have it delivered straight to your room! So if you want to eat in the evening, but don't want to go out, this is the perfect option! :) I highly recommend this hotel!! For the manager and staff: muchísimas gracias para todo y la hospitalidad que vosotras nos han mostrado!! Jen..xx :D
