As stated above, let's just...start from the beginning. Traveling in Japan with three others. We had to get two rooms. I only got to be in the one. First thing we notice is wall damage. We took pictures of it just in case they wanted to try and say we'd done the damage. Then we noticed the large cabinet provided also was damaged and did not close right. Then I needed to use the restroom. First issue, the floor is raised for some reason and the ceiling is not. I'm 6' tall, so a big girl...I barely fit into the bathroom. My 6' 5" friend was unable to fit. Then my friends came to the realization that their room had stains from previous visitors enjoying themselves on the comforters. We turned on our air conditioner unit, which was right above the beds, and there was a loud rattle coming from it that would be horrible to try and sleep with. The TV was tiny, the WiFi has NO PASSWORD or encryption, but it had decent speed. And probably the most disturbing of all, they use metal keys. Keys that they make you turn back in to them if you're stepping out. They return the key when you return..but we had a different person at the front desk and he just...hands over the key. No ID check, nothing. Oh, and the rooms are ALL smoking rooms. Those with sensitive noses like myself will not have fun in here. We quickly found another hotel and departed for better accommodations.
This hotel has a good location in Kyoto, and the price of the hotel is economical. But besides that, the hotel is not really good. The beds were too short for 1.80m height people. The entire floor smelled pretty chemical and bad. The bathroom was small and hot.
good cheap place place to stay in kyoto, location is good 10 mins walk from a train station and also to the main city centre and the restaurant areas as well. no need to buy extra breakfast as there are cafes nearby ie tullys and hollys.
Spending 6 nights, I couldn't have asked for more! Every where else was booked during fall foliage period. Place is small but good enough to have some quiet relaxing sleep! What was great was its location sits right about center of Kyoto, minutes walk to bus station, and so many bus lines takes you to all directions n all attraction. Very pleased to have chosen this place!
very clean rooms with a nice vieuw, we were on the 9th floor. Breakfast was Japanese or Western, more than enough choise. Within walking distance of the metro. We have sent our lugage to the next hotel via a local agent, works fien and is not very expensive.
We stayed here on a very busy period and the prices were higher than usual (about triple). It is located just 2 stops away from the main station and in the middle of the shopping district, with loads of cafés and markets nearby. The room was more spacious than we anticipated but not massive. The bathroom looked like a cruise ship bathroom, but made in plastic. It was clean and acceptable with the usual buttono-operated japanese toilets. The hotel has no gym, but they have a washing machine you can use. There are ice machines on floors 2/4/6/8 and therefore maybe ask for a room away from those machines. The fridge in the room is empty and you can stock it up with your drinnks/breakfasts from the shop next door. I did not use the breakfast at the hotel but it did not look amazing from the lobby. The guys at the reception desk were helpful but their English in some cases was really poor.
The room it's seriously dirty and the carpet it's better walk on with shoes on and not barefoot . The staff at the desk or reception most of the time don't say any greet, the breakfast it's always the same and cold stuff. Overpriced but not to far from the subway and the centre. Anyway it doesn't worth the money I paid it because I don't think it's a 3 star hotel but maybe 2 !
This place feels more like a hostel - and I've been to nicer hostels than this. I don't mind primitive accommodation but I mind if it's dirty. The duvet on beed has stains, the floor has not been vacuumed and the table is greasy. Basically, they changed the sheets since last guest. Very uncharming cramped room and bathroom. Location is good, but I would prefer to walk or take subway if I could trade for a better hotel. They should call it a hostel, and lower the price.
10 mins walk to the station and around 20-30 minutes to the attraction places.. they have fridge and kettle in the room.. the breakfast is really good, has a lot of options and the taste is okay.. it is worth for value of money
This is a typical Japanese hotel so the room and bathroom are very snug, but has everything you need including a fridge and kettle. The bathroom includes a bath although again, very snug sized. The staff all speak enough English to get by and are very helpful. Breakfast is very basic for westerner tastes although probably appeals more to the Asian clientele, and the restaurant is quite small and can get very busy so if you time it badly you may end up in the basement in the overflow breakfast room. Location is about 5 to 10 minutes taxi ride from Kyoto Central Station and is about 15 minutes walk from the famous Gion area. Lots of really good restaurants and shops nearby. Wifi was fast and free but tended to drop out in the morning. The cleaner was a little irritating - took ages and wouldn't let you in the room till she'd finished. Facilities include a small laundrette.
