The hotel is classed as a 4 star when it should not be. My husband and myself where just staying there 27th - 30th of April 2018 the room smelled like sour milk the air con didn't work. the room is really clean and you do get new towels and shampoo/shower gel every day the house cleaning lady's are nice but the reception woman is rude we asked if she could look into a tour to the salt mines and she took to long to get back to us. There is a fridge in your room with a good selection of things in it and they are cheap but i would advise to keep track of what you take because they will restock it every day. Breakfast was not good for all of us in my party i was sick after eating in there i had pancakes with something like cheese in it the milk tastes nasty its 30 PLN each for breakfast and you just have to give your room number and then pay before you check out. One night we went to have dinner in the bar downstairs we had sat down about 9:15 and then the waitress came over with just a drink menu but we where looking for food and she told us that food serves was finished, so i asked what time it finished at and she told me 9:25 when we went outside my husband told me that the chef was sitting at the bar all the time we were in there and most likely just didn't want to cook anything. When we went to check out the reception had all are bill messed up My sister and Brother in law where in room 22 and they used a few things from the fridge and my husband and i just used milk and we all only had breakfast once in the hotel but we were told the bill for us was 120 odd and the others was 72 which was all wrong she said that are room had breakfast twice. why would i want to make myself sick again. she was getting pissed off with us even though it was her faulty we where not trying to cheat them. My sister was told what her bill was and she told her it was wrong because she didn't count the stuff out of the fridge. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is an ideally located hotel, situated not far from the Main Square in Krakow, and the Wawel Castle. The staff are friendly and polite, but the hotel itself could do with being dragged into the 21st century. The lift is not very modern and takes a long time to reach the first and second floors, the stairwell and entrance could do with modernisation, and the rooms are basic and nothing spectacular. The hotel is perfectly located and the staff very nice, though. It's a shame the breakfast didn't have more choice.
A great hotel, well positioned for getting to the old town and the castle. A nice bar for a short visit and breakfast plentiful, good choice with the option for a cooked breakfast Would recommend for a short visit to view all the tourist attractions in Krakow
My wife and I spent 3 nights here in December for the xmas markets Hotel location is perfect...5 minute walk to square...quiet area..nice basement bar Room was beautiful...staff were very friendly...organised gorgeous flowers and bubbly for next to nothing! Breakfast was varied and plentiful if not spectacular Hard to fault Ostoya...thanks for a lovely weekend
We stayed at the Ostoya Palace for three nights The hotel is an palace which has been converted very sympathetically to a hotel Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice bathroom There was ample choice at breakfast which was continuously re-stocked The concierge was particularly helpful and friendly The hotel is located on a quite busy road but we were in room 16 and didn't hear any traffic It is about 10 minute walk to the main square but it is an easy walk . If we were to visit Krakow again we would re-book and would recommend the hotel.
Good location, walking distance to the Old Town. Price ok for facilities, really nice reception staff ready to help at any time, giving right advices to tourists. Very nice breakfast. Would book again.
We stayed here in September. Check in was easy and straightforward. We had our bags carried up to the room for us as well by the porter. The room was lovely and clean - it was cleaned everyday throughout our stay and the towels were replaced everyday. It is an easy walk from the Hotel into the main square probably about 10/15 mins - there are not many bars/restaurants close by to the hotel though. On departure our flight was not until the evening and the hotel kindly let us leave our luggage until the evening and rang a taxi to take us to the airport. I would stay in this hotel again.
We booked a four night stay through a travel agent back on August 2 with this hotel our trip was September 14-18,2017. When we arrived at the hotel they said they had over booked and we did not have a room. We asked for help finding another room and they basically told us it was not their problem, they had contacted our travel agent so they were not interested in helping us. Come to find out, they contacted our travel agent while we were in flight the night before we were due to arrive. Needless to say, we were stunned. Never had we been treated this way by a hotel. They didn't even offer us the use of their wifi connection so we could try to contact our travel agent. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Fantastic hotel and the staff here are excellent and help as much as what they can. Good points--clean tidy, standards here are very high and wow. Bad point and only one, after a 9 hr trip to get here your exhausted and finally when getting to lie down your met with a slab of a mattress much like a stone one with no give, this may however be to some people's taste unluckily we had hoped for something where we may be able to sleep on it. We padded this out as best as we could however this didn't work. Everything else about this hotel is great as it is within walking distance of the square and they do have a lift in place to help with those who are in a wheelchair to get to the reception. I am looking forward to the sauna where I may at least get relaxed before bed time again, this costs about 25 slotie.
When we arrived we were greeted at the main entrance by Ivor who helped us with luggage and took us to our room. There were tea making facilities and a television but only with Polish channels. The room was immaculately clean with a bathroom with a power shower which revitalised us after hot days out. The domestics replaced our towels regularly. It was a 10 minute easy walk to the Main Square but enough off the beaten track to offer peace and quiet. All staff were brilliant but Ivor was exceptional. We hope to return to this beautiful hotel in the future. There is also a pub and restaurant offering excellent food and drink at inexpensive prices.
